  • I bought one of these cheap battery powered karaoke speakers as a mini amp. Need to use the line in with an adaptor as the microphone jack applies weird voice filtering which screws up the guitar audio

    A steal for $19

    6 AA batteries required.

    Perfect for the eneloop hoarders.

  • Any recommendations for a nice small modelling amp with Bluetooth as well?

Positive Grid Spark. Good amp for practice, i have the 40watt version and attached a talentcell nb7102 powerbank to make it fully portable.

      • How long does that battery last with the grid spark?

        • +1

It last me at least 2 weeks in avg 1.5hrs / day practice.

          • @johnyBgood: Thanks. I already have the Spark. I was thinking of buying a Spark mini for portability but the powerbank option would save me some $.

@Buy2Much: Yeah, the only problem is the battery is hard to source, i have to buy from Alibaba and the price will increase because of shipping.

For something a little different, consider the NUX Mighty Plug Pro MP-3 which is an amplug with headphone, Bluetooth and USB. It sounds great. https://www.nuxefx.com/mightyplugpro.html

They also make small modelling amps if you want something with a speaker.

      • I have the mighty plug pro and the spark 40.
Got the Nux to use while RMA'ing Spark for a Bluetooth issue.
They both can do a lot (more than my ability at my level). I find myself favouring the spark because it's easy to just search for the sound you want in tone cloud. Plus I can play without headphones too. But spark cost heaps more.
I haven't worked out how to do the tone cloud equivalent with the mighty plug - and I don't know how to dial in to match the sound I want.

I'm mainly just learning rock songs so I will want it to sound like Led Zeppelin or black sabbath or whatever I'm learning.
They both can do jam along with a song, but the spark is just easier.

      • I have the older MP-2 Mighty Plug and it sounds really good for the price. I use it more often at home than my amps or pedals. I have even used it live.

How do you reckon this compares to my 15 year old Roland Micro Cube? 😅

  • For $79 this is an amazing bargain. Great sounding practise amp.

  • Is this made of plastic? I have the Boss Katana Mini and it's plastic.

  • what should I get for my roland electric drums?
