Bought one on eBay last week for $1375 and got it yesterday. It's a really good TV, super happy with it.

  • Code not working

    • +3

You need to select Afterpay as payment before applying the code.

  • +6

I would prefer if it does not go bang

    • +2

Mine did 😅 Was a good TV otherwise

    • +2

      Don't watch fireworks on it

      • +1

Is that some kind of pay-per-view thing? How many bangs do I get per buck?

        • +1

Bangs per buck depends on size of bang.
How big bangs do you want?

  • +1

I'd also like to suggest looking at the Sony store, particularly if you have an Amex $100 of $500 offer, plus combine with cashback.

    • +2

Cashrewards offering 12% which is nice

      • Wait so it's cheaper to buy directly from Sony if you have an Amex card?

        -100 from Amex
-163.09 from cashrewards (12% of the total exclusive of GST)

        Making the total $1231.91??

        Can someone please confirm?

        • This is what i did 2 days ago. I can confirm

  • Purchased, thank you.

  • +1

Anyone can comment how's this TV for PC gaming compared to a LG C2?. Reviews suggest they are pretty similar in performance but Sony seems to be better for watching movies….

    • +1

LG C2 may be worth the extra $400 if you want something exclusively for PC gaming. It has G-Sync/ FreeSync, lower input lag and according to the latest RTINGS tests may also have lower burn in risk.

can anyone tell me if Afterpay does credit check when completing the purchase ? i am in process of settling a home loan and don't want any credit checks or liabilities added to my credit file just for the sake of discount ??

    • +4

I'm not sure if Afterpay checking your credit will affect the loan, but having an Afterpay account (even after paying off whatever you bought) will indeed affect your loan amount as it counts towards your total credit limit like a credit card. If you're in the process of applying for a home loan, its best you don't open an account till after its settled.

    • +1

Lenders treat afterpay like a credit card, they assume you will have the maximum balance owing for 30 years, so it counts as increased expenses and lower borrowing capacity.

The good news is you can pay off afterpay immediately and close the account.

      • It's this, lenders treat afterpay as a credit card.

And they basically take all "credit capacity" from last 3 months.

Source: I just did it myself. Impacted my borrowing capacity. Luckily it was only a few hundred, asked if I could pay it off and they said No.

    • +1

They would pick up on your bank statements. Anything BNPL could be flagged if it’s a recurring thing.

    • +1

They don’t don’t do credit check because it’s not considered as a credit product. But some banks may check for loan limit. My partner used to work at anz and anz does not check, but MeBank does

  • Any good deals for 65 inch ?

    • $2450 for 65" LG CS at the moment. I am waiting for something better.

  • How would DHL deliver if no one at home? Leave as authority, or to their depot and pick up?

    • +2

You get a delivery note in your mailbox. You then call them and arrange for redelivery or go and pick it up from their depot.

  • Stack with ShopBack deal from 7-10pm AEDT tonight to get an extra $20 cashback. Put $5 on Afterpay and balance on ShopBack eBay giftcards to get another $33.50 cashback.

Can anyone confirm shopback will track? How to split payments on afterpay?

  • Purchased during the jbhifi deal. Very happy with it so far. Good price for oled.

  • +1

    this or C2?

  • Code not working after choosing afterpay, any help? Thanks.

  • Much better than those TCL C735 and C835?

    • +3

      Yes, incomparable.

    • Kia vs Rolls Royce

      • Is Kia one of the crap car brands sold in Australia?

        • +2

          No, it's Holden

        • No kia is totally fine

  • I just got told that I have a limit on spending with my afterpay account :(

Is there a way I can load up my account with funds to cover the difference? Seriously what is this crap

    • +1

you used to be able to pay for a large portion of the purchase with eBay gift cards and then the balance with Afterpay

    • Use eBay gift cards to reduce the balance to go onto Afterpay

  • Ok ok how do I get eBay gift cards? Are you guys sure I'll still get the deal if it's part after pay?

    • +1

Yep, I bought ebay giftcards on shopback at 2.5% off and only paid a small amount on afterpay. Code still works fine.

      • +1

        This worked thanks!

  • +1

    Thanks OP, ordered.

  • +1

    Pulled the trigger, thanks OP

  • How long does shopback usually take to track these days?

  • I got this tv at Christmas for 1700 and it’s worth every cent. Picture and Sound is outstanding. This price is a steal

  • Bummer that you can't stack with ebay plus voucher.

    • Heard never able to stack eBay vouchers

  • TCL 75inch p735 is outstanding value at $995 with 3 year warranty. Picture quality is brilliant. If you want just a "tv" and movies why waste twice the money or more.

    • And your point is? If you just want a tv you wouldn't be in the market for OLED.

Yes TCL is a good bang for your buck tv, but if you like picture quality you go oled, it's night and day literally

    • TCL is a ridiculous TV

    • Agree. p735 is a mid level model in TCL, and there are C835/935 as high line products, and even some 8k models unnecessary for now.

MiniLED is the future with higher brightness and contrast ratio than OLED at a much lower price and no concern about the burnt marks on the screen after years of use.

      • Not sure that mini led will wipe out Oled. It’s still relatively new tech and hearing from users, contrast ratio isn’t necessarily better and you just go from one extreme to another - from not bright enough to too bright. I looked at them in store alongside Oled and the Oled panel still looked better to me, no haloing, no washed out skin tones, contrast was better, and that was in a bright department store where the mini led should smash the Oled panel. They get hot too don’t they? It might be the future but it’s not right now.

    • It really depends on your budget and use case (although generally I agree that size > picture quality). I have a TCL C715, Sony X900H and now a Sony A80J. I bought the 55" A80J for a room where the viewing distance will be around 2m and was willing to pay the extra for better picture quality. The OLED price differential is much more reasonable at 55" that at 65" or 75/77".

  • Anyone had there’s shipped yet? Mine is still pending being sent.

    • Mine was ordered Thursday night and shipped Friday morning. The tracking code they provided only works on this website https://mysctrackandtrace.dhl.com/

      • Mine was dispatched yesterday and I ordered over the weekend, so the 3rd business day after ordering it was dispatched which I’m not super happy about. Was hoping to get it by the weekend but likely Easley next week now. The wait will be worth it.

        • Mine sent out on 22nd Wednesday with tracking. Delivered to door today 24th.

          • @mooreshady: Yeah wow, don’t know why it’s so slow for me. They shipped mine with StarTrack, but tracking number isn’t even in their system yet so I don’t know what’s happening. Sony eBay is really slow with responses to messages too, won’t order this way again.

            • @Lululuke: Still waiting on mine, Startrack thanks for nothing!

              • @Lululuke: EDIT/UPDATE: It's not with StarTrack it was supposed to be with PFM Corp but they don't have it, and there is a pattern of Sony Australia advising dispatch when it actually hasn't occurred. 10 days later and I'm still no closer to getting my TV, it's disgraceful and I won't purchase this way again. Just a warning to others who may be thinking about purchasing through their eBay store.

                • @Lululuke: Same same. 10 days later still not shipped and no response to msg's.

                  • @TurdFerguson: I ended up calling the Sony main number. They have an eBay person there, try and get onto them. I didn’t get through, but I was annoying enough that they seemed to do something. Their claim was that they dispatched it, but then the carrier who collected it handed it on to another carrier, and then somehow 7 days disappeared from history and the item finally turned up in a carrier’s database. Not without me constantly calling and messaging though. Just be as annoying as possible. I’m hoping to get mine delivered Monday.

                    • @Lululuke: Cheers mate. I rang Sony this morning and they took my name and said I will receive a msg soon. Sounded like nonsense so I rang back this afternoon and got a legend that took my order number and located the purchase. She spoke to the eBay team and got a new tracking number with pfm corp. Pfm do have the package as of today in Sydney but deliver to my area Thurs and Friday so I won't see it for at least 2 more weeks most likely. Pfm did promise me a call on Monday if they can somehow get it to me next week however.
Buyer beware using Sony eBay for purchases.

                      • @TurdFerguson: I just got advised my TV will be delivered on 11/04 which is completely disgusting. I will never purchase from Sony online ever again!

  • My transport history says “in depot” or in transit. does it means it will deliver today, or next few days?

    • Okay that means out for delivery in melbourne at 9am.

      Delivered 1115am.

      Awesome delivery.

      • Was it DHL? did they call you first to arrange a time?

        • Nope. Never contacted them. Yeah was DHL. I kind of expected DHL that quick delivery.

  • Price is now $1,895 on eBay…yikes.
