    The base rate on these savings accounts is 0.05%. The bonus interest rate of 3.8% p.m. only applies if no withdrawals are made in that month.

    The same $2,000 can be put in any saving account that's offering anything above 5.1% interest rate, left untouched for six months will net you $50 in interest earnings (with the added advantage that your money compounds and even if you decide to withdraw, it's liquid cash). Granted this $50 gift card can be redeemed within 3 consecutive months but it involves transferring $6,000 and the the money is locked to spend in Bunnings only making it not worth in IMHO.

      You don't need to keep your money in the Qudos account. Transfer $2000 in and straight out every month for the next 3 months to get the Bunnings gift card. Park your savings with ING or Virgin Money for the highest interest rate.

          I'm only referring to the requirements for the gift card. There are much better options for savings accounts.

    Called to unblock my payments with fraud team.
    Tried another $20 transfer to the exact same account after it was unblocked, now my account is blocked again.

      Had the same thing happen but didn't realise for a few days. Checked the account and saw the transfer was "on hold". So I called them up and asked why I didn't get any notification (text, email, etc). They said it's designed that way to get the customer to call them so they know it's a genuine transaction. Wtf? How about at least a prompt so the customer knows their transfer isn't going through?

                ‘To qualify for this promotion, you’ll need to deposit at least $2,000 each month from an external source into your savings account for three consecutive months in the first 6 months of opening the account.

                Once you have qualified for this promotion, the $50 Bunnings gift card will be sent in the first week of the following month. Please let me know if you have any other questions.’

                So by the end of the first week of next month

    Sent them a follow up email and they said I’ve qualified and there has been a delay in sending out the vouchers and they are hoping to have them out by early next week at the latest.

    They got back to me after 2 weeks confirming the promo. I'd avoid, as the signup process was easy and bank acc was opened. Deposited $1 and tried to withdraw but was unable to. Next day they send an email requesting further ID. Pretty poor in my opinion for them to allow deposits if they still require further info. My accounts been disabled and my funds frozen. My $1 is at the mercy of a third party, govt guarantee here I come! 😂

    For those that got the gift card, double check your recent emails. I got sent a second email for the same promotion with another $50 gift card (2 different codes).
    So $100 in total.
