This is around twice as expensive as those Aliexpress deals and only FHD so easy pass.

  • Wtf? Rip off. Office works had one for $197, not sure if it was 14 or 15.6 but much better price.. it wasn’t OLED but who needs that for a portable monitor

    • Any recommendations for USB-C Portable Monitors?
I have an AoC one and it's running fine, but was just wondering if anyone tried other brands around the 250 - 300 price point that they're happy with.

For that price, why not get a 4K OLED.

    • Are they any good? What's your best use case?

    • To be fair, the 15.6" models are more expensive than this deal.

no deal! Prism+ smells feels like a doggy company, they keep running ads saying their monitors are up to 50% off, 365 days a year.

The same build quality-and really probably all end up coming from one of the several few factories that makes all these portable panels-slapped with a huge premium because its an 'aussie' company but in reality just generic made-in-china stuff (not that I have a problem with that, but it should be priced accordingly) stamped with their logo on. No deal.

FYI in case anyone dont know this, but monitors (whether these portable ones or just the standard desktop ones) can be had for very cheap in China because all it comes down to is the external chasis, a psu, a driver board and the panel. All small brands (even some 'bigger brands') doesnt design anything themselves, they would use generic chasis, psu, oem driver board and panel comes from one of the several big panel producers. Everything apart from the panel can be had for dirt cheap and as for the actual assembly - you and I knows already that labor in China is basically slave labor esp in small operations like these manufacturers.

Is this a rant? Maybe yes. But Ive been long sicked of Prism as a company in whole and their price doesnt nearly reflect the actual cost their monitors cost, and they had the guts to say that:

‘Our direct-to-consumer approach means that we skip the middleman like a traditional physical/online retailers and opt to directly sell it to customers, thereby skipping the unnecessary markups and passing massive cost savings to buyers'

    • to be fair, they didn't say they would be skipping necessary markups and what constitute as necessary markups. perhaps the OZbranding is the necessary 300% markups..

  • Yawn

  • This must be a joke about the current inflation rate
