Very low price on this 2TB 2.5" SATA SSD from Silicon Power and better value than the $133 Patriot 1.92TB SSD as this offers slightly more storage, TLC flash instead of QLC, faster seq. read/write speeds and 1000TBW endurance instead of 800TBW in the Patriot for only $2.99 more.

Like the Patriot this is DRAMless but still a good option for fast game storage at a low price.

      Get your hand off it?

      Get 2 and raid0 them 🙃

    • +1

You don’t need to store that many Linux distros.

  • +3

This one has 3 years warranty instead of 5.

2TB NVME here for $129 ETA of Friday for anyone looking for a speedier drive https://www.pccasegear.com/products/61030/team-t-create-clas…

    • +8

I think peoples know that, some people ran out of NVMe slot, and need the SATA drive for archiving etc…

      • +1

Of course, what in case someone was going to get this over this sata for their main drive etc

      • +2

Standard SSD's aren't good for archiving. I suspect you mean online storage.

    • nv create is a good one that is cheap and suitable for most things

    • Is this 2TB NVME DRAMless? A review from Amazon says that they now are.

  • +1

Are Silicon Power reliable? Never heard of them.

    • Ehh they are alright, all the drives I have from them haven't failed yet 😂

    • I've bought 3 of their 1tb NVME drives over the past two years. 1 completely died after 3 months in a laptop.

    • Yeah they are just fine.

They are a smaller firm but have a good reputation..

I;ve got an A55 with over 700TBw to it,just fine

    • I have 1 ssd from them and it dead after warranty.

    • I had my Silicon drive fail, so I don't really trust this brand.

      • I have Samsung, Kingston, Patriot SSDs failed, A WD/Sandisk SSD with growing number of re-allocated sectors. Subpar WD HDD RMA for failed HDD, Seagate HDD issue. Should I stop buying storage devices from all of them?

Did you manage to go through the RMA? If yes, what was the result of the RMA? Was it a replacement or a full refund? Or, it died after warranty period is over?

    • I had two SP NVME die within the month of ownership with only 7TBW on each. returned for full refund from umart.

  • According to their website, the ssd equipped with slc catch

  • Hi. Which one is better? Just need for 512GB
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/765045

  • Based on my experience with the 512GB version, I think it is better to spend a little more for a SSD with DRAM.

woohoo 4tb for $200 is not too far away

  • I see prices are going down with the world economy weakening (cost of living reduces demand).
I will be wise & not fall into consumerism - opportunity cost optimisation ;)

I’m not sure you know what those words mean, or I don’t understand what you’re trying to say.

SSDs are one of the few sectors where the price is going down. Inflation is affecting most other aspects of daily life.

There is reduced demand, but the prices are mainly falling due to oversupply of old stock, and increased focus on PCIe5 within the industry.

I have had 3 Silicon Power NVME in the past.. 2 of them has gone dead on me. YMMV.

    • +1

Any chance to get the information on the models? Also, what was the outcomes of the RMA? Replacement SSD or refund?

      • Silicon Power A60 1TB. one was from PLE and other from Umart. Luckily the refund process is smooth for both reputable sellers.

    • Same experience with Silicon Power NVME. Bought a 1TB stick which lasted about 2 days in my PC before it died. Umart were awesome as always and gave me a refund. I guess you get what you pay for and your luck may vary but these sticks from SP are very cheap. I'd be wary.

Waiting for a 4TB deal for around the $200-$250 mark.

  • +1

I had a SP A60 that came with QLC NAND instead of TLC NAND dispite SP's product description listed them as TLC NAND. Just be aware that they might also do the same here.

  • $134 at Umart

    • Ex shipping unless you can pick up 😉
