Can I use the Coles VISA Gift card to buy the Apple Gift Card?

    • I used the Mastercard gift cards from coles (this one) without any issue, I don't see why the VISA would be any different.

      • It could be different, because BIG W could have decided to block the Vanilla Visa gift card based on the bank identification number when you swipe the card on the EFTPOS terminal and are wanting to purchase a gift card. Woolworths does that if you attempt to use some prepaid gift cards (e.g. OnlyONE Visa gift card, Activ Visa gift card, Perfect EFTPOS gift card) when you attempt to purchase some gift cards in their store (e.g. Westfield EFTPOS gift card, WISH gift card, Activ Visa gift card), so it would not be a stretch for BIG W to do something similar.

Also, keep in mind that if a staff member spots you trying to use a prepaid gift card as a payment method for a gift card, they could intervene and stop you. It happened to me once at BIG W at a self checkout.

  • Does this equal to 2000 points on a $100 card, if so it works out to $10 off.

    • Yep. Worked great for me last time as I bought $2000 worth. Then did the same with Woolies the following week lol

It's always been like this - 10% worth of store credits via points redemption either from EDR or FB. Though some take it as a ~9.09% off instead of 10% off (depends on how you interpret it).

      • Like the way you put it, interpreting mathematics :_
Spend $100 real money getting $110 dollar value (this deal)
Spend $90 real money getting $100 dollar value (e.g. JB HI-FI 10% off Mac)
Spend $85 real money getting $100 dollar value (previous coles promo 15% off gift card)

I always seem to see these posted, looks like great points if you were going to spend money on Apple things anyway, but what are most people here using these cards on? Apple subscriptions, app store purchases or?

    • iphone, ipad, macbook, etc

You can buy apple products with apple gift card

    • Actually sending them as a gift :)

When these are stacked with either normal education or AOC discounts it's cheaper and overall a better experience to buy directly from Apple compared to retailer deals. (free engraving, free shipping, free AirPods on certain periods, etc.) Not mentioning these gift card deals has been on and off quite often in the past many many months.

Just kind of a waste for credit card insurances as you can't claim those against your product damage or lost anymore (since you're not purchasing the product themselves). But you can buy Apple Care+ with gift cards, anyway.

I've been stockpiling about $4K worth of credit for the new iPhone, watch and iPad line-up this year as I'm a few years behind. Whenever they have the promo, I throw a few more hundred into the pool. And if you get the Apple store to price match JB's when they have 10% off Apple items… happy stacking!

    • yeah i pay for apple one. so that is like $40 a month

  • You can also use these on EPP too.

  • Anyone been able to use to pay for Apple service repair?

    • Yes, I just used them in March.

  • Do the rewards points stack with any other boosters such as everyday extra?

    • No, not anymore.

Purchases of Apple gift cards used to trigger some other Everyday Rewards boosters (e.g. 5x points storewide at BIG W), but that was due to bugs in the Everyday Rewards system. Everyday Rewards deployed a major update to their system last year to finally put a stop to this.

Are we sure this deal is still happening? I can't see it in the upcoming catalogue….

  • Does this include the variable gift cards? They aren’t in the catalogue picture but Woolworths in the past has included them in similar promotions

    • Sadly not. Big W stopped including the variable load in these promotions last year.

  • whats the highest value of 1 card?

    • $200 is the highest denomination card included in this promotion.
