  • Snagged a Baby Q. Thanks OP!

    • +2

hopefully your snags will be tasty :D

      • If you've got some idea of how to cook !

  • snagged one too, cheers OP

  • Cracking deal, the most I've ever previously seen off natural gas Weber Qs is 15%

    • Deal is for LPG

      • oh BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO then

        • Yes he/she needs to amend the deal unless the website is wrong.

        • +1

When the deal first went up the NG Family was $669, obviously been adjusted.

      • Correct LPG only this time ;)

        • Please fix the description

          • +1

@Igaf: think a mod has updated it to state LPG now. Cheers

            • -1

@mitre10official: Yep, I asked for the change, agenero is probably busy. The comment negger is likely a clueless fool (99% confidence) and obviously doesn't have the nous required to look at revisions. Props to the mods who acted very quickly. GL with the sales.

              • @Igaf: Username checks out

                • @thestig: I hope so, but it's a battle and too often I fail to live up to it.

  • Tempted on the family one. Just moved into our first house and wanting to buy a BBQ.

I take it these don't go on sale often?

      • Keep trying.

    • +1

Check out the Q3200 at a Weber specialist store and compare it to the Q3000. Has a higher lid, thermometer in the lid and electric starter.

      • Most importantly , will cost you more ..

    • +1

They do but rarely for this much. 10 - 15% off and free shipping is usually the standard sale.

    • +2

Sale happens as about as often as buying a new first home, so if I was a betting man, I snag one before they are all gone

      • Thinks for a moment

Wait a second, I AM A BETTER MAN!

        Furiously purchases the family Q

        Checkmate Mr store rep!

Jokes aside, definitely looking forward to the bbq. Thanks :)

      get one second hand

    • +2

No they don't. Mostly 10% off once or twice a year. 25% off is pretty much unheard of. I've never seen it.

      • Paid 287 for a q2000 towards the end of 2019, combo'd a 10% TGG off with an ebay 20% and paid with discounted GCs. Rrp was 469 back then.

        • I paid around $350 last year Sept TGG but just use it a few weeks ago.

  • +9

Don't forget that these differ from those sold by Weber dealers.
The domes are not as high and they lack an inbuilt thermometer - both very handy.

  • +2

Anyone know of greater than 10% off on the Q3600?

Weber.com AU site has 10% off to bring it to 1439, but hoping a smarter person knows where to wrangle it cheaper like the standard Q's.

  • +3

who remembers/misses Tom from when Webers were 50% off on eBay?

    • I don't understand the linked comment without background - got a TLDR for us?

      • +6

eBay had a 50% off all BBQ's sale. A dude named Tom advertised Weber Q's for a little above usual retail price(that he did not have) but with the 50% off they were are bargain.

Paypayl/eBay covered the discount for the sellers so Tom got full ticket plus the extra he added on, then passed the supply of the units on to other retailers like Winning Appliances. The guy that delivered mine said, "Who the hell is Tom? our truck is full of Webers he arranged delivery of."

Tom made a killing and we all bought very cheap Webers. Tom explained that eBay/Paypal actually put a freeze on his account thinking he was scamming, but it all worked out in the end.

        • Outstanding. He is our deity

        • Hahaha i love Tom and actually got a call from him at the time. It was appliances online who he got them from.

        • Genius!!

    • +3

The only Tom we remember is Tom from MySpace, and he tells me he loves a good Weber deal!

    • I snagged a Baby Q for $188 from this sale from TGG, still going strong.

    • +1

Wow first reference from here that I didn't know about!

  • Charcoal was on sale too. About $20 for 10kgs

  • Damn no built in

  • Does a gas BBQ make a difference to taste? I know charcoal is better but I'm looking for convenience

    • The flavour does differ as you wont get a true smokey taste, but its also not like your standard burnt BBQ taste.

      • +1

I feel like buying one just for all of your cracker responses

  • Hi guys which one for a family that doesnt bbq often and mainly when friends are over?

    • Probably the biggest possible (family Q) in that case k92. It's easy enough to transfer cooked stuff indoors to keep warm while you're finishing the rest but the fewer times you have to do that the better imo.

    • +1

How many people? I Have all three sizes and pretty much only use the family at Xmas. The 2000 can easily cook for 6 people.

    • +1

      I bought Q2000 from TGG, enough for 4 x big rib-eye steak

  • What gas tubing do you need for the baby Q?

    • It comes with the gas line.

  • I don't want a bbq, I just want a snag. Do miter10 sell sausages, or is it it only byo.

  • Dis jigga needs to do a q&a

  • advice please:
    $854 for Q3200 from Weber or $699 for Q3100?
is that worth to pay $155 extra for a higher lid, thermometer and electric starter? are they useful when BBQ

    • +2

Personally, I wouldn't be worried about the extra height on the family size unless you want to be cooking enormous joints of meat or a very large turkey. The lid on the Q3000 is high enough for everything but that, I cook boned legs of lamb on the Q2000 and it would easily fit one with bone in.
As for the temp gauge, you can install one yourself later if you want or better, buy an inkbird bluetooth temp probe set. It's more useful.
In regards to the electric vs piezo starter…if your thumbs are brittle like a cheese twisty, get the electric.

    • +2

I have the Q3200 and I don't think it's worth $155 more for those features, but it depends on what you're cooking and if the extra height is useful. Note the thermostat can be added afterwards with a quick mod if you reeeally want it.

Weber post sales service is phenomenal. Half the time when something is broken, you expect to pay to replace it and most of the time they just ship free handle for the kettle or provide a new starter if it breaks randomly. Aussie based in ADL.
For the Q3000 vs Q3200, I had a similar dilemma but instead invested into the bluetooth weber branded thermometers (agree with @Flyerone there). Much better outcome to walk away with the phone and know what the temp is inside the meat as well as ambient rather than coming back to check on it. Nice security blanket if you sometimes fret about an under/overcook.

    • It is only a couple of cm's and a thermometer which is probably better replaced by a wireless kit that measures meat and chamber.

I bit on a 3200 on the weber sale yesterday. I would have waited for this if I had known.

  • RRP must have gone up for the baby Weber yikes

  • Often a free bbq in public parks. Byo snags.

Weber Q 3200 LP: $769.00 NG: $799.00 Not at Wber Direct but a Weber Specialist
So for $70 more than a "$25% off" Q3100 at Mitre10 here in SA at a Weber Specialist retailer?? This math doesnt match the 25% off hype

    • 769 for Q3200 nice price
      which store? thanks

      • Probably this: https://www.heatworks.com.au/weberq3200/

The 25% HAS to be off their normal selling price by law. If it isn't then you have a right to complain about the advertising. Doesn't mean it will be 25% better than the best price available so his math arithmetic is based on a false premise.

    • Can confirm if it is Heatworks you’re talking about, they haven’t been around for years. It’s now The Home of Fire. They have 10% off at the moment which brings them to the same price as most the competitors mentioned already in this post.

      • +1

OK I stand corrected So Mitre10 it is - I want the Q3200 but will gave to make do with Q2100. My sister in Sydney has NG Q3200 and its till going strong after many years So just goes to show you really cant trust many websites, advertising etc So a "current" website showing a years old price - wensite owner didnt even bother to close website

  • Any 4 burner inbuilt bbq suggestions?

  • +1

Bah, bought the weber q2200 for $539 (10% discount) on 25th. You're all welcome.

  • Q2200 owner here. Bought over 8 years ago. Replaced the starter battery once and new grill plates earlier this year as the old ones finally had enough. The extra dome size has been useful for bigger roasts etc and the electric starter makes it easy as. cannot fault it except these days maybe wishing I had the Family size 🤣

    • I haven't tried a roast yet, any advice or links to a great recipe for the Weber?

      • +1

Depends on what you want to cook. There's a bunch of recipes on the Weber site or just do a quick google. I use the Weber Roasting Trays and trivet and it works great for brisket, roast pork, leg of lamb and roast chickens. I usually use the Lanes BBQ ribs for my seasonings.

  • Thanks OP! I've been waiting for a good deal on the Family for a while and just snagged one in this deal. Until 31 March you can get a $5 reward to go towards this by signing up for their rewards program (free) which I did so got it for $694 with click and collect :)

    • Did the same. Then got $20 in store credit from the purchase of the BBQ and used that $20 toward a cover for the bbq.

    • Hi mate, how long did you have to wait for the $5 rewards after signing up for their rewards program?

And do you reckon I could fit the Family BBQ into a corolla hatch? Cheers

  • Does Weber make a mounting kit for these. I recall seeing them mounted on a verandah, but I can't find where to get a mounting kit (for Q1000).

  • +1

Ordered one last night and was delivered today.

  • Does a q2000 get proper hot for searing?

  • Wonder if Myer will price match. I have a gift card I’m struggling to use

  • Thanks OP!

    grabbed a family Q

  • Don't know which size to get here. Only 3 of us in the family but probably handy to have bugger size for visitors.

Once you get a trolley for the Q2000 it's not much more to get the 3100.

    • 2 adult household. Got the 3000. Very happy with it

  • I set up an account but didn't get the $5 reward.
I linked to an existing card number is that why?

  • out of stock in most stores and online :(

    • So online, my local shop had none, I called up they had three of each. Purchased successfully

  • This has just been extended. Ends 30/04.

  • Glad to see this posted. Been holding for a while.

Actually prefer the manual start. Great price. On my way to get one now.

  • FYI I got the 2000. Some feedback.

It’s plenty big enough. I just cooked couple of steaks and about 12 little sausages and 4 big sausages it was probably about 1/3 capacity. I was stressing about not getting the family (OOS) at my local and honestly couldn’t be bothered searching.

Gas was easy to hook up and flavour of food hit the spot.

Great cooking guide for anyone who got one, it was pretty spot on for me.

    https://www.weber.com/cms-remote-assets/General-temperature-…

  • Looks like it is all gas ones, Pulse 100 & Pulse 2000 seems not in the list. Wondering what the sale price for those ones if anyone got them through a sale?cheers

  • How long you guys had to wait to get email confirmation that the order is ready to be collected?
I ordered for Q3100 online on Saturday and the shop showed in stock. And I haven't received any email regarding my order as of today…

  • Which of these BBQs can be hung on a verandah?
I was going to grab a Baby Q but can't find an attachment for hanging it.

  • is this website a sham? https://weberbbqgalore.com.au/weber-q-range/24-weber-baby-q-…

They reckon they have Q1200 marked down from $389 to $311.20, but that's the RRP of Q1000 not Q1200.

Their About Us and Delivery info just talks about "Weber", not "we", and it's not my alarm bells ringing

    • Yeah that's not the official Weber site and BBQs Galore don't sell Weber and haven't for many years.
