Decent price, it is a clearance item though. $180.77 for the white one on Amazon:

      • Oh alright my bad. Specs seem the same so I thought they were just different colours.

@kaboomxyu: Oh lol what a plot twist. As a guy who's never purchased a hair dryer before, I'm clueless with this stuff :/

@Zackeroo: Note.. it's from amazon Germany.. so … German plug.

          • @kaboomxyu: Not true. The Parlux 385 is better than the 3200. I would 1000% pay the extra $20 for the one advertised in the main post.

385 is lighter (only 30 grams but trust me it matters, that shit hurts after a while)
385 is 2,150 watts, compared to the 3200 which is 1,900 (More watts = More power = better drying)
385 airflow is (m3/h) 79 vs (m3/h) 69 for the 3200, one of the most important measurements when trying to give a quicker, smoother and straighter finish.

I've seen more hair stylists use the 3800 model of the parlux than any other hair dryer, period. That is the model made prior to the 385, it's probably their most popular one, and with that the 385 is even better.

The only reason i'd suggest someone get the cheaper/older one is if it were maybe for someone with very short or fine hair who just wouldn't need a more powerful dryer but wanted something that will last forever.

    • Incase anyone going to buy this white one it is cheaper and better model and ice blue is even a couple bucks less keep in mind it is direct from Germany and has EU plug not Australian model

  • What makes this brand so much better than others?

    • They come in lots of colours… oh and they're reliable. My wifes last one (385) outlasted her previous 3 hairdryers combined. Even at the end of it's life it still performed really well where the cheapies really taper off. She immediatley went and bought the Alyon for the colour she wanted.

They're extremely reliable, very powerful (Which means better results) and the favourite of many hair stylists to use in their salons (And imo, the best value for a salon quality product), I've owned Parlux for years, my hair stylist (very popular and trendy salon) still uses the same model of Parlux hair dryer I bought about 11 years ago (3800 model) She is booked a solid 3 months in advance, as an idea of how frequently she uses it. I only swapped to the newer Alyon after 8 years because I dropped the 3800 several times on tiles and cracked the outer casing (it still worked but I didn't want to take the risk).

I have fine hair, but a hell of a lot of it. It used to take me 40+ minutes to dry with a cheap hair dryer, and would be a frizzy mess still. One day I went to my friend's house after a day at the pool and borrowed her mother's Parlux hair dryer, a super old model. I simply turned it on and faced it downwards, no blow waving brush or anything, and in less than 10 minutes it was straighter than i'd EVER gotten it with a dryer and was completely dry. I went out and bought my own the next day.

I can dry my entire head of hair in less than 10 minutes, and I don't even have to go over it with a hair straightener for it to look good. I would say it has saved me literally thousands of hours of styling time in my life, and is probably one of my best and most used purchases -ever-.

Dyson is the newer, trendier sibling of the Parlux, its quieter, lighter and about double the price, but from feedback i've had from hair stylists, apart from the added comfort from being lighter, it doesn't do a better job, and they haven't been out long enough to compare the reliability to Parlux. This is why I say Dyson is better value.

This is why I say Dyson is better value.

Did you mean Parlux is better value?

  • Was funny when the Dyson rep tried to sell me a blow dryer and I said no thanks I already have a Parlux Alyon and they were confused.

  • paid $145.41 AUD for 385 back in 2016

  • Yes! Love this hairdryer. Is it worth getting a spare?
