  • Wow that is a fantastic price, new 2023s must be around the corner.

  • this or LG OLED?

    • +6

If you can get LG OLED 77" at $2000, get it.

BTW, 10% off from Bing Lee yesterday

      • Just had a look at bing lees website the sony 55" OLED a80j is more expensive than the a80k model. Weird.

        • +1

The Sony XR83A90J was $5035 with the Binglee sitewide code yday. Was that a good price for it?

          • +1

@loveabargain33: You could have bough when you saw the price $5035 plus 1.8% from shopback so aroubd $4944 plus $40 delivery the rrp for this tv when it was released in sept 2021 was $10499.

I bough this same for $6000 plus $70 store credit during black friday sale at good guys in nov 2022 ans really enjoying the picture quality and strong built with metal frame.

            Good luck

            • @ozboy: Thanks mate. I actually got it from the good guys for 5055 with bonus wall mount installation.
Good guys gift cards came for 4650 with the 2750 through vanilla 10% off offer and balance through nib rewards 4% off on TGG combined

      • +1

        good luck with that..

    • This gets asked a lot and it really comes down to your individual use case, best thing you can do is look at plenty of reviews on both.

      • yes you could do that and you can do both..

        ozbargainers are shrewd

  • I tried to get JB Hi FI to match this, they said the lowest they could go was 23xx, even though yesterday it was $1985 or so.

They might fall a bit lower before they run out of stock but not much lower than this with CB

    • Can potentially get this from Good Guys if they list it, price match it and get store credit on top? Also nothing TGG has 12% CB today + 20% av discount (if this model is an option)

      • CB capped at $80 though

    • I bought this model at JB yesterday who were happy to price match good guys $1996

This or my 46" sony tv from 2010?

Your 46" Sony TV from 2010

      • Now bohn can wait for you to buy this TV and trade with you!

Better to buy this from GG current offer of 20% of TVs + 4% Cashback as well if you select storecash(zip pay) a further $150 cash wallet for future purchase. Works to around $1750 with GG.

    • OMG that is so good. If I hadn't bought my TCL TV earlier in the year I'd be jumping at this.

      • The 85” Hisense U7 also works out to around 1750 as per the above arrangement which is the one I bought today. Remember for storecash offer the goods have to be collected or delivered by 2nd April.

  • I grabbed one of these from the last deal and it has been fantastic so far.

  • Is this any good for the Xbox Series X?

    • +6

      Yes

  • This or the TCL835?

    • +4

      This

    • My two choices, I went with this as my room is dark and I believe this is better for sports

      • Is the TCL better for a bright room? Mine is fairly bright.

        • -1

TCL mini LED so better tech, and in theory has better anti reflection

just returned my c835 due to a stuck/dead pixel. after all my research the samsung qn85b-qn90b is the miniled winnner. the c835 picture isnt that impressive

      • +1

QN90B is better over QN85B because of VA panel vs IPS

  • Is this good for a lit room ? With plantation shutters

    • +2

      Screen is very reflective

      • Hmm interesting 🤔. Thanks guess I will wait for OLED deals but 75" is so expensive:(

        • Wouldn't OLED be worse in a lit room? This thing is bright, I've had to turn it down as it was a bit overbearing.

    • +1

Had my 75 c835 in front of my plantation shutters it’s not bad in decent lights but I noticed last night it’s very very reflective as I can see my ugly noggin whenever the blacks get dark.
My cs 77 is arriving today excited is an understatement

  • I just bought this from JB Hi-fi for $2360 and it got delivered today :'(

    • +2

There is price guarantee for 7 days . You will get the difference call them up

    • If you have not opened the box hold on to it. User Uber careshare (200 off for first time user) and return it. Get this one. If they have not put the serial number on the invoice then even better. If you did open it, pack the second one in the first box if you want to go thru the effort and save 500+. 😊. Just mention when checking the size it does not fit the cabinet in place, they may sometimes be a bit pissy for change of mind orders.

Bought this from the last deal, Sony employees can't even buy them for this price. They have a lot of stock they're clearing prior to the 2023 releases.

Only gripes so far the corners are a bit dull. But otherwise coming from a Hisense P7, it's a massive step up and I have no regrets what so ever.

The screen is a bit reflective (we have a light that is behind us that reflects on the sceen when the TV isn't on), but once the TV is on, the brightness cuts through it and you can't notice any reflections at all.

    • Thanks I was thinking about this.

      • +1

If you are worried about glare reflections from behind - consider a 2022 Samsung frame tv - the screen in matt with very low refections. I have a TV facing an outside wide and no issues even during the daytime with the blinds open.

        • I saw the frame tv in one arirbnb really impressed but didn't think about the reflection. I will check it out thanks

  • Sony Bravia suck. I'm on my second one and my last one

    • Trends to agree. I bought the 75x90j a year ago. It has a great picture but the tv freezes a lot on power up. The sound is terrible. The menus are clunky. The WiFi drops out a lot. Next time i will buy samsung or else maybe an lg. My sony TV's are only lasting 6 years max and the panel is usually why i get a new one as they start to fail.

      • Yea I have comparable issues especially the lagginess if the menus, weird glitches, shit sound and a just overall not that many great features for the price of it. Surviving on reputation not quality I'm afraid.

    • My Sony TV's have been great. I've got 2007 and a 2012 still going strong. This will be my first new tv since 2012. Maybe the quality has dropped since 2012?

  • Would this be worth upgrading from a 65" b8 oled? No complains with the oled but it's been randomly shutting off and a 75 or 85" would be great.

    • Not comparable imo
The new Oleds are the clear winner out of them all qn90b is up there though
