    That RRP is ridiculous.

Wondering what is the difference with this kind of mixer?

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Decaura-Kitchen-2-Mode-Faucet-Laun…

    • +2

the Decaura one doesn't have a pull out hose. only just supports changing the spray mode by twisting the head

      • +1

But they do have some model can do that but cheaper

    • The pull out hose is the only meaningful difference. "Fully flexible and retractable stainless steel pull-out hose"

That's a lot of extra money for one extra feature. Some quick googling of other Pull Out Mixer Taps shows the ugliest ones are around $150 (really ugly construction, there's a reason they're cheap), and the better looking ones are around $400.

I did find a decent looking one at $86 tho. It's a cousin to the one you linked to: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09LV7HZK2/ref=emc_b_5_t

Flow rate seems important for these. I'd like mine to be capable of a higher flow.

OP's mixer has "WELS 4 star rating and a 7.5L/M average flow rate"
The $86 mixer has "WELS Star rating: 5-star, 5.5L/M"

So, if you like big water action, then go for teeny dried up WELS numbers.

That's more info than I wanted to know about mixer taps this morning. Enjoy. :-/

I saw that one on special a few days ago for $7x.

I did buy the Decaura one with the pull out hose (same one as you posted), was a little disappointed the hose head was plastic with a chrome finish on it. But considering the price, its understandable.

      • +1

It is a lot for a pullout but I find it a worthwhile feature. cleaning dishes and washing hands of small children who can't reach as far.

I got the $86 job a few months back. Still going well and the water pressure is on par with my old standard tap. Get a few comments about it from visitors - use the pull out function maybe once a day. No way I'd pay $300+ for that function though.

I often wonder if they regret the name Methven. So similar to meth den.

  • I would pay a bit more for https://www.taqua.com.au/ which made in Japan and include filter water when needed. Got myselt T3 for 2-3 years and very happy with it. 4.9\5 rating https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/taqua-t-3

    • Thanks mate. Never heard of this before but I’m intrigued.

How often do you change the water filter?

      • Every 5-7 months (3 people), the water still taste good and water flow still decent (my kids said water at school taste bad). But 4 months is recommended by manufacturers.
