Did you know that new movie with Matt Damon tells how Apple courted for this name for this iPad?

  • You can price match at Apple? In store only?

    • I don't think there's anything official but I do believe they can price match Apple Authorised sellers only.

    • It’s pretty much a hit and miss for me.

Apple is so good at pricing. Surly 64GB is mere then I start looking at 128GB then you realise AIR ONLY has 256 GB available which cost you $1249, at the same time you find 128 GB iPad Pro is around this price bracket. Sigh….

P.s. $1019 iPad Pro M1 at Apple Refurb seems a better buy if your budget is around $1k. A hit and miss opportunity though, not always available. Basically brand new with one year warranty. (Brand new screen and brand new battery)

Definitely. 64Gb seems to small (its Ok if this is only for consumption, but actual work…no).
So you upgrade, plenty of storage, but then it is around ipad pro prices. Which has a better screen, and more speakers. And more power, but tbh not necessary as the air is already powerful.

My daughter doing engineering at uni went the 256Gb air and uses it for all her lectures. She is happy. Hates having to switch from a MBP to a Lenovo P workstation though (darn thing is just as expensive as the MBP but ugly plastic).

I got work to buy me the 256GB IPP. lovely screen.

Indeed iPads are too powerful nowadays. For my use case the 2018 pro is more than capable but mine just dead a week ago Apple asked for $760 to repair which is a joke. Then I graded the refurbished M1 iPad Pro from the link I provided above.
The screen on the Pro is the main killer for me due to high refresh rate. I write and draw a lot hence it is a must. Air screen is noticeably lagging.

The 1019 pro is definitely a better buy I reckon. I tossed up a couple of weeks before biting the bullet on that one with 15% gift cards.

    • Can I connect a samsung t7 to the ipad air?

    • +1

I know right! I got the pro because of this.

  • Where do you get the 15% off gift cards.

    • I think they're gone, exceptional deal though

Hmm there was pro m1 deal for 947 couple of months ago

Time Machine for sale somewhere? Keen to get one

      • -2

Or just wait for another deal

Can recommended if being used for media consumtion and some gaming, the M1 does a great job and 8gb ram make it a great choice.

While 64gb is low storage you can still use usbc for work related projects or netwrok based strorage soultions.

I got mine for $806 a couple months ago with the office works deal and use it about 4 hours every nights in bed in alot of diffrent use cases.

    • I'm now contemplating if I should return my Air 5 bought a week ago and order the refurb Pro. The Air 5 became non-responsive twice in 2 days…to the point that even a restart was troublesome.

      • Must just be a defective product cant say ive had any issue even close to that

Picked up M2 Pro 11" for $1299 last night at Amazon.
Apple refurbished has M1 pro's and latest airs.

    • You mean refrubs on Amazon?

      • +1

Apple. 11” M1 128gb $850 odd if you have 15% off gift cards. Even at $1019 I would buy over the air.

        • It really is tempting

          • @alterego13: Do it best iPad ever the 11” and I have had most since the original, even had the 12.9” M1 for a year.

      • No amazon has one's on special at 7% off.

  • +1

So many reasons to get the pro over the air.

    • Agreed which is why I did in the end.

  • Wish they had a larger model at this price

  • thats a pretty cheap ipad air thats the one with the M1 chip too. :D

  • Price back to $997 now
Did anyone manage to buy it or better price match at Apple?
