Buy now and try to luck out with credit back and return lol?

  • Damn. Just bought stuff last week. These sales are few and far between these days.

    • Yea i wonder what happened. Supercheap Auto used to awesome sales on engine oils. I hardly see them anymore.

      • true, I’ve been waiting since Autobarn had the synthetic Nulon 5W-30 5L for $25, got a stockpile of 8 so i should have enough for a while :D

      • Oil has skyrocketed in price the last couple of years. Noticed last time my brother bought diesel oil, it was in the same 10ltr size container but they reduced the quantity to 7 litres and charged the same as what the 10 litres cost last time.

  • Cashback offer suspended.

    • No cashback for any provider since the start of 2023. You can get cashback on SCA eBay instead.

      • Don't trust the eBay stock locator for click and collect though. I ordered the ToolPro 3T low profile jack via eBay with C&C. The store cancelled my order a week later because they had no stock. SCA website also showed no stock, but eBay still said it was available.

        • eBay Plus user so I get free shipping so I don’t have that challenge.

      • I think SCA is finally onto cashback payable on free credits portion. It may be never back.

  • ive literally just come home from SCA & seen this

Repco 20%-40% off right now 07/04/2023 online and instore on Sat.
I don't think any one has posted this yet.

    • Thanks
Will switch over to Repco for a look….

      • I just happen to be checking the prices after comparing SCA and the clock ticked over and prices changed.

  • The thumbnail says 30% off?

    • It was 30% off "Big Wash"…. big bottles of car wash. It was one of their scrolling banners which seems to have gone now.

      • That's was last catalogue special
I picked up the Chemical Guys extreme wash Wax, from the eBay store, with the 30% discount, $5 Ebay plus voucher and delivery $26.99

That catalogue ended on the 6th….

        It's now back to $45.99

However, ironically, all the same products are under 'sale' section and just as they were before….just without the discount included.

        • I have not bought car wash for almost a decade.
I bought two bottles for Meguirs Ultimate Wash (bottle about 1.5L) on special back almost 10yrs ago, almost finishing the 1st bottle now (most washing other stuff now besides the car it seems)
It seems that I do not wash the car enough, make that two cars. It was like $18 on special at Repco and I still recall talking to the shop assistant, they said why don't buy two bottles and I said should I just buy one bottle and leave one the other for customers. Thinking later stupid me, its a shop, they want to sell all stock to anyone, they would not care if you bought 10 bottles. I did leave with two bottles.

@fredk1000: I too don't wash the cars often enough, but I'd say dont use any wash or wax anyway. Pressure cleaner alone does the job pretty well, any bugs etc stuck just spray and leave to soak while you continue on rest of the car and will usually spray right off on the second pass, otherwise take a microfibre cloth to it.

One thing I'd recommend is this Toughseal stuff. My car spends most time stored undercover or garaged but water still beads on it after 8 or 9 years almost like when we first applied it. Missus car spends more time parked outdoors and hers was good for at least 5 years. Makes cleaning the car so much easier (it's some sort of teflon coating).

            • @bamzero: Amazing, our cars are outdoors. But beading for 5+ years is amazing.
I wax old school (with the paste, "Biff" style, only one coat) and it only beads for month tops. I sometimes put RainX on the windows.
I imagine this stuff would work on glass too?

Yeah there are also many new modern products out there, ceramic coatings…. Numerous coatings…

The new stuff is a bit pricey compared to wax.

If I ever get a new car I would do this or similar.

              Thanks.

            • @bamzero: Is beading good or bad?

I did half the car with Turtle hybrid spray. That half beads water, and stays wet longer, which attracts dust, then dries as a brown spot.

The non treated side dries in flat sheets and faster.

Can already see they've jacked the price of a torque wrench I'm looking for from $60 to $80. Assholes.

  • this will work with special orders won't it?

  • I need to clean my kids bike chain. Can i get recommendations on what to get for the job?

    • +1

The cheapest spray degreaser would work, as does petrol but would not recommend. Brake cleaner works good too.

If it is a cheap bike, you can just spray the chain liberally with WD40 and wipe off the dirt/grease and spray it again and wipe off to lube it and be done with it.

If you want some proper chain lube woolworths have it on special if you can find it.

There is a bike citrus based degreaser too, that may cost quarter/half the cost of cheap kids bike.

    • Kerosene in a spray bottle. Works the best.

Wipe off excess dirt, spray, agitate with brush, let it sit while you do the rest of the chain. Repeat.

Once dry and clean, lube up with brake oil. Cheapest and most efficient method.

Make sure you have a drip pan or waste paper to catch the drippings.

  • It works for clearance items too apparently. Just ordered Worx 20V 6ah batteries at a club price of $67.99 each (has been on clearance for $84.99, RRP from Worx is $189). Already have too many of them but I'm still annoyed that others had the same idea otherwise I would have bought even more.

  • Bought a 3% voucher on SB and used that for the purchase. Just received an email from SB saying they've tracked my transaction and it looks like I'm getting another 3% back! Seems like a good deal.

    • OK, SCA in the Ultimate/TCN scheme can be 10% to 15% off.

      • 🫠 will have to remember that for next time.

      • where do I buy them at 10% off? They are showing as 3% on SB?

        • Good rate is not for everyday price.

SCA seems only on the TCN scheme now, TCN Him, Home.
