Thats all this rubbish program is worth. I just started up the Qantas discount as you cant get many games free to air these days and its still crap. Constant freezing, dropping of games, and general glitching out. Hopeless

    • -1

If you use the live channels, it fixes it. FYI.

      • +4

I’ve wondered why I don’t experience any of the freezing issues that most report. I always use the live channels instead of going game by game.

        • Yeah i always use the live channels too, and im running 250/50, new ASUS router and 3 year old Samsung 4K, so i think it is just Kayo at its finest. You get some good accounts, you get some bad accounts

      • +21

now if only they would put the live channels up top in the menus, rather than making you scroll all the way to the bottom (slow on some TV apps)

        • +3

Just scroll up. 3 presses up to get to live channels. You don't need to all the way down.

        • +5

I would go one step further and say they should give you the option to be able to select what you would like the app to launch to…

        • Live channels wasn't something they originally wanted for Binge - had to be included it because of some of the licencing conditions Foxtel had. That's why we all have to scroll all the way down …

      • +4

I get the error mostly with live streams

        • +3

Have you tried clearing your cache in the app? I have an occassional issue where the stream takes a while to initiate (doesn't happen if I'm already streaming). However, if I clear the cache and re-run the app it works a treat.

      • +1

been using kayo for a couple years and didn't even know there's live channels? fyi on chromecast

    • +19

My experience is the opposite. I never have any issues and I'm running on a lowly 25mps connection. I run it through the KODI app and my device is wired instead of wifi. I hate the navigation menus though on the KAYO app. I'm pretty sure you can adjust the buffer in the KODI app. I don't know if this is significant, but I often start the stream 10-15 minutes after the game starts so I can skips the ads and half time bloat.

      • +4

Same, except I run 50mbps because I'm a power user.

      • +1

Ive had heaps of issues with running at 1000/50 ultrafast nbn.

Anyway, cancelled this year. (profanity) Murdoch.

        • Oh yeah, that's definitely too fast!

    • +4

Most likely the problem is with your internet connection or your home network.
      Mine works absolutely fine.

    • +2

The biggest problem I have ever had was maybe a buffer once in an AFL game. A part from that it's been flawless. I would say it's an mobile internet issue, also make sure your mobile and apps software are up to date

    • +2

Opposite for me, very rarely have any issues and I use it normally for at least a few hours a day.

    • +3

You are basically paying for full access to NRL & AFL & F1, every else is a bonus.

Overall it's still pretty decent value when you compare it to what a single sport "season pass" costs for things like NFL/NBL etc

  • +3

I have received neither an SMS nor an email. Shame. $5 is all it is worth.

    • +1

Thanks for the negs Rupert and fam.

  • +2

    • I got offered a free month at the start of the afl season (didn't take), and 2 months for $5 last week. I'm hoping if i hold out i might see a 3 month offer that covers the rest of the afl season

      • Same here

  • +10

Screw Kayo. I pirate all my F1 streams now. Bit of a hassle, but I'd take the effort over paying for this rubbish ever again.

    • +1

I just use my cashrewards boost numbers to activate a free trial whenever F1 is on.

    • Do tell. I used to do this years ago through Acestreams (from memory) but was always hit and miss. Just want a reliable stream purely for F1..

      • +3

Google “vip league”, and stream any sport you want

    • Just a pain to get it going on the tv I've found. Alright if you are happy to watch on phone, tablet, laptop

    • Are you getting livestreams or just replays? I can get the latter, but I'd be keen to get some live sports if possible

  • +1

    How? Please share. TIA!

  • +3

Been using Kayo for a few years, and I have never had any issues until a few months ago.

    Constant dropouts and errors.

They are well aware of the issues, and say there is no timeline for fixing it

  • Need to find to stream Kayo AFL, F1, Tennis and cricket. man charging $25

    • 30 dollars. 25 is for kayo one (ie one screen)

  • Works mostly fine for me, only issues i have is sometimes the event steams are poorly managed by Kayo and start/end times stuff up or abruptly stop. Using live channels tends to avoid that incompetence on their part. Using nVidia shields over Netgear mesh wifi. Primarily use the kodi plugin.

  • +9

Hope another free 12 month code leaks again

  • +4

Still rocking my 12 months free from their stuffup last year

    • Mine finished last week :(

  • Didn't qualify as apparently I have had a similar promotion in the past.

  • Alinta Energy are pulling out of their sponsorship of Aussie cricket, so that's probably going to put the kibosh on my "free" Kayo which I've had for the past three years. I'll be on the lookout for deals soon!

  • For anyone who prefers Foxtel, I got an email yesterday for Foxtel now -

Do you miss having the world's best entertainment available at your fingertips?
Rejoin Foxtel Now today and pay just $25 per month for the first three months (normally $104 per month)* and get access to All Packs.

    Also comes with complimentary ads.😂

  • Just in time for the Masters but one of the worst UI's I've ever seen on a streaming service

    • +3

What are you talking about? Have you used their multiscreen feature? It's perfect for golf because of multiple feeds. There's nothing else like it.

      • +2

Splitview is great but I'm referring to the main menu navigation on the TV. Trying to use the remote to get around is a nightmare

        • No argument there.

  • +4

How about broadcasting in 4K Netflix etc can do it why can’t kayo do it?

    • -3

Probably because a lot of sports telecasts probably arent in 4k?

      • +5

The 4K channel on Foxtel does rugby league AFL and cricket

    • +1

      Up selling.

Eventually it will come when Foxtel truly does off for an "all digital' platform.

  • +13

    Offer expires 18/04/2023.

Offer is good for the next 8 F1 races if you wait until next week to sign up. (only 7 if you sign up now)

    • Has the San Marino GP been switched to Emilia Romagna, or just renamed? Different location? I'm not a close follower of F1.

      • Different name for the event/race. Same circuit/location. (Imola)

      • It was never held in San Marino. Emilia Romagna is the region where Imola circuit is situated

      • Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari

  • -8

    It’s worth the $25/mth. Support Kayo y’all!

  • Kr@pyo does not have the full complement of Bein-sports channels. I'll stick to Bein-sports connect.

  • +3

Anyone find their TV app crashing after 10-20 mins?

  • +5

    Kayo is Krap - can't even get 4k 🤮

  • Wish I got this deal offered, nothing in my emails/texts. Would be good for watching NRL but that's it for me…

Not paying 25 bucks for that

    • +1

There was a $15 deal I got, $90 for the NRL season is ok with me, better than having to watch nine or pay for a Foxtel box if that’s all you want.

  • +2

    still on 12 months free

    • +2

Me too! Think it's about to expire tho. What a year it has been 😂

      • Same here, free year ends on 30 April. Was hoping for another code from the F1 🤣

        • Yep 30th April for me too. I actually just cancelled the subscription. Maybe I shouldn't have, just in case there was some weird bug and it kept going! Still have access until 30th. I have loved having it, but would never pay even $20 for it. Interface has been buggy with a new samsung tv.

  • +1

Received the offer, but mine was $5 per month for two months.

    • I got this one too. Strange how they work out who gets what.

  • +3

They should really drop the price to retain year long customers…

I’ve had a deal for the last year or two but I’m now on full price. The monthly fee is above the appetite many users are used to for streaming services.

They at least need to come down to low-$20s, and given no 4K maybe even lower.

I follow NBA, AFL and F1 but will prob cancel in Sept after footy season ends, and return again next year.

  • +2

Got nothing, wanted it for afl damn.

    • There’s still time, I only got mine a few days ago. Stay strong brother!

  • +1

Free year from the deal here last year expires this month, will be gutted when it does. No way I'm paying 25/30

  • Unless you're watching a major sport, this service is an absolute shitshow.

    • +3

Lol, there is only sport hahah

      • -3

Major sport, learn to read super genius.

        • No one watches minor sport so

          • -2

@Surfsalot: They wouldn't broadcast it if they didn't, nice try super genius, now get back to your crayons lol

  • Did not get the email on an old email address through which I used to have an account. Target much exclude me :(

  • No thanks, I'd rather watch none that have to subscribe to a million different streaming services. Way too many and not offering enough content for the price.

  • Nothing in my email.

  • I have a bunch of emails saying 2 months for $5 none of my accounts got the 3 months offer

  • -2

Not bad if you like SD sports

    • +1

      Nice try but no

  • Any tricks to getting this offer?

    • +7

I know right. I just jump on my private jet when my team plays interstate too.

      • -8

i just take a train to origin in brisbane but if you wanna take a private jet go nuts. clearly if you afford a private jet you can afford to see it live at the game.

    • +1

true, but that makes for an expensive NBA game

  • Anyone in the past few months who has taken up a similar offer been offered again?

  • +1

Kayos quality has been severely diminished in the last few months. Constant freezing on the tv app… issue started with cricket coverage and has persisted ever since.

All other streaming services on the tv are fine and work perfectly.

  • As dysfunctional as the UI is I've never had a problem streaming anything, however the app I sideloaded on to my fire stick now no longer works, anyone have a link to an updated working app I can sideload back in?

    • You’ll need to find a version that’s 2 or higher.

  • i wouldn’t use Kayo if they paid me $5 a month for 3 months

  • Okay so how do you get the NRL Saturday night games free channel 9 doesn’t have them

  • +1

Their samsung app was, and still is, absolute garbage. Error messages that mean nothing, non-existent support, every second footy game I had endless buffering or random errors.

Internet speed is fine, everything is updated to latest available version. Ended up using my mobile for half the games last year.

  • Offered 12 months free through Telstra not interested even if free.

  • I hate how Kayo is supposed to be 1080p but people don't understand that there is different bitrates which control the quality of the picture. You can have a 720p picture that looks better than a 1080p picture due to bitrate. If the bitrate is to low, the quality is terrible.

I find the bitrate of Kayo at 1080p is extremely low, and needs to be a lot higher - it runs around 2,000Kbps in comparison here is others.

Facebook Live recommends a max bitrate of 4,000 Kbps, plus a max audio bitrate of 128 Kbps.
YouTube Live recommends a range between 1,500 and 4,000 Kbps for video, plus 128 Kbps for audio.
Twitch recommends a range between 2,500 and 4,000 Kbps for video, plus up to 160 Kbps for audio.
