Seiko Sumo Noosa SPB347J $799 Delivered @ Starbuy

160

Looking at watch deals over the long weekend and there are a few at Starbuy. The one that catches my eye is the Seiko Sumo Limited “Noosa” Edition with a blue dial. At $799 this is a good discount from the RRP of $1500.

At 45mm the watch is a bit big for me but if your wrist is 7.5” or larger (or you like chunky watches) then this could be for you.

Full description in the link and also more deals here for you to look through-

For SE Queenslanders it could be the perfect beach holiday watch indeed!

I think it would look good on you.

Always halv Seikio RRP and start from there.
    Saphire, don't belive it ha.
    45mm is pretty big.

I think it would look best on the rubber strap, that stainless bracelet looks cheap and doesn't integrate well at all with the case.

Yeah the bracelet on my Sumo was disappointing for the price paid.

      • they always are, rattly, hollow endlinks and cheap looking

Some people on here can't take it and are soooo brand loyal. Seiko fanboi negs lol.

Half price isn't a bad deal but still expensive. Probably ok for limited edition and two straps.

I'm a lifelong Seiko fanboy and I agree with you. The "king" and SE/LE RRPs are laughable. At least this one is a 6R, all the other Kings are still using the 4R. I only have one King Turtle on rubber but only paid $250 which is about what it's worth.

I would buy this over the new Sumo GMTs though. which are an absolute joke, I already ranted about them in another post.

$800 is where I tap out on Seiko 6Rs, ngl I would buy this if I didn't already max out my cc on ohter stuff. I like the colour and extra strap.

@rosebank: Yeah mate this one is better than most offerings, agree!

Otherwise plenty of different options around including the famous Steeldive SD1970.

I picked up a 36mm Cronos (Explorer) from the recent Anniversary sale on AliExpress (US$180 delivered). The polishing and quality is fantastic, great glass and lume, would be better with a NH38 without the ghost date, but the NH35 is is a great work horse and can be easily replaced down the track.

        • What rose do you expect for this price though hey

It doesn’t get much better the more you pay. The bracelet on my GS is the worst part about the watch too. Clasp doesn’t sit flush, no micro adjustment, gaps between end links and the case.

        • My snowflake bracelet is ok, I don't know about other GSs

          • @rosebank: no micro adjust on it though? which I get isn't an issue for everyone if they can get the perfect fit, and i think if you look at your clasp as its fastened it doens't sit flush and a lip protrudes from the edges.

I'm holding out for the Sussex Inlet edition.

Fremantle North Mole edition in purple for me

    • I’ll have a Wineglass Bay edition in peacock blue, thanks!

  • As part of todays deal, the Citizen Promaster CB5037-17X originally $1375, down to $449.

    • Unfortunately the time signal it's only for four areas around the world and automatically adjust the time. Japan, China, Western Europe and the US

      • Sapphire glass though! ^^

I just read a couple Google reviews and there's 2 reviews that specifically mention StarBuy and them buying it at a special price but it being lower a few days later..

Maybe not such a great buy after all. Apparently it has been as low at $399 around Christmas last year.

Promasters go on sale all the time; I think I got a nighthawk with sapphire , radio control and perpetual cal for under $300

            @rosebank: Oh woah, nice!

Keep us posted if you see anything crazy like this next time.. :D

            • @WasBargain: I always share, after I've bought everything I want, then I post the deal

              • @rosebank: How about you post before the, "Thanks, I bought 45" mental idea? 😅🤣

          • +1

@rosebank: I was looking at the Casio lineage tsw series which looks to be the same value for just under $300. Radio sync, sapphire, solar, quartz, perpetual

  • Decent price for this watch. Bought one yesterday after waiting for the price to come down for weeks.

  • Wasn't this recently released at $1200? Classic Seiko.

  • they put sapphire crystal but then fall short of putting on ceramic bezel. could have been a nicer sumo

  • will this be too big for my 6.5inch wrist
