$14 AusPost standard delivery and $18 for an express delivery kills the deal.

Might as well get the 500GB 980 from computeralliance for $5 more delivered.

      • What makes it better? I thought the 980 is a fairly entry level drive itself.

        • +2

Guessing some people feel 980 is a bit better. SN570 (1TB or lower) generally performs a bit faster than 980 in general usage. However, 980 (1TB or lower) has a larger dynamic SLC cache (when the SSD is empty). Overall, they are roughly the same. SN570 2TB version, however, has a really large dynamic SLC cache.

However, for 500GB SSDs, paying for postage normally makes the deal unattractive. SN570 currently has 1 month Adobe CS trial BUT the WD Web site to claim it is currently not working.

Centre Com has the same deal and has various stores in many cities so might save that $5 by choosing click and collect.

    • Apologies for the repetition, didn't read the post in it's entirety.

  • Looks like a good alternative to the teamgroup MP33 512gb model

  • Would this be compatible with an Atari VCS 800? The compatibility page just says M.2 SSD slot, without any qualification as to what works.

    • Doesn't look like it from my quick research

Looks like you'll be needing an M.2 SATA drive, whilst this is NVME.

This video shows a SATA drive being used too.

      • Thank you

  • Got an email from BPC Tech today about this model being sold out, and offered ADATA LEGEND 710 as a replacement.

Still in stock on their website. Oops.

nvm, a "new shipment" has arrived.

      • Was that offer a straight 1:1 replacement?

There is no universe where an ADATA drive with Realtek controller is equivalent to a WD

        • IKR?

They offered ADATA, then I counter-offered 980 (non-Pro, which is cheaper than ADATA) but then I was told it's back in stock.

  • Price increased at Centre Com, deal continues at BPC
