Sounds like the only thing that’ll get mopped is the warranty for your vacuum from the water that gets in

What water? This is for dry mopping.

Site says it has a 150ml water tank

My apologies, I had seen one previously that was for dry mopping.
I'd definitely be concerned about how much water is going to be sucked into the motor…

          • @Tiggrrrrr: Is dry mopping a thing?

            • +1

@Matt86: Different pads for wet and dry.
Dry is generally a microfibre pad. But you need to keep replacing them.

Swiffer was a popular example back in the day.

              • @Tiggrrrrr: @Tiggrrrrr thanks for the clarification - I've never heard of this before.

      • Dry mopping with water - interesting

I was looking at these a while ago when I was looking for a better and faster way to mop our tiles… I feel like this item is basically a scam.

    • The bigger the better, get a scissor mop.

      • +2

I just put my scissors in the dishwasher…

These are known to both kill your vacuum and void the warranty while its at it.

    • Recommend a Tineco S3 or S5

      • Thanks. Will look into it. I had the bissell cordless max but was heavy and left streaks behind. Battery didn’t last too either.

With this, you’re paying to damage your Dyson.

ive tried before, the smell from the machine is terrible after awhile due to water resudual. i had to pull everything apart to clean the unit.

  • If they were only using the vacuum as a glorified battery on a stick then this would be a reasonably good idea. But since you can't turn off your $1k vacuum to avoid sucking in water then it simply doesn't make the risk worth the reward.

I'm sure there is a battery mop out there for a similar price that doesn't depend on owning a Dyson.

Don't buy this junk, buy a real hard floor cleaner (Tineco S3 / S5). This will ruin your Dyson, and do sweet F.A. to clean the floors.

  • Terrible scam product that voids warranty and damages your very expensive gear… Hard pass

  • Came here to suggest not buying these - saw them and thought "hey that's a cool idea" and did some research and it will basically destroy your vaccum cleaner whilst voiding the warranty too.

Only third party attachments worth using are the non electrical ones that do not involve water. (E.G a stand, or a different head).

    • How? Does it tend to suck up the water as well?

      • I believe so, that's what others have said. It sucks up the moisture apparently.

  • I think I'll hang on to my Dyson warranty.
