Tangerine nbn plans are much better and it uses Telstra’s network

    • +8

Right okay, but do they come with 30k EDR points and a 12 month sub to Paramount+?

    • +3

      Telstra’s network

      Only for mobile.

      Vocus for NBN.

Origin nbn is a Aussie Broadband product, unless it has changed in the last year.

Tangerine nbn plans are much better and it uses Telstra’s network

      LOL

      Telstra uses the NBN network.

    • +1

Tangerine uses Vocus backhaul for nbn.

    • +1

I recently switched to Tanderine NBN and it's been atrocious! Drops out nightly around 7-8pm and have widely varying speeds much slower than Superloop / Telstra. I think they are junk.

    • Also Lindt chocolate is better than Cadbury so consider that too

  • +1

Granted the points are nice but is there anything to do with P+? I seem to read everywhere there's barely anything good there.

    • I’ve only watched yellowjackets and mayor of kingstown and they’re good

      • -3

        I’ve only watched yellowjackets

        How big is your aquarium?

      • Used my trial to binge Tulsa King

    • Last king of the cross is alright

    • Twin peaks are on it

i signed up origin internet a year ago, still consider a new customer?

  • +5

Do you get to keep paramount after 45 days if you cancel the nbn?

    • -6

      LOL

    • fair question

    • +3

It reads like you do, seems you are given a 12 month subscription and could actually cancel the internet 5 days after connecting and still keep the subscription.

If you sign up during the Offer Period, you will receive an annual Paramount+ subscription at no additional cost to you. If you are eligible, you will receive an email within 5 business days of your internet being activated, containing a tokenized link and the activation instructions.

      However of note is this

The Internet Offer is only available to new Paramount+ customers. The Internet Offer is not available to existing or past Paramount+ customers, including customers that have previously used the Paramount+ free trial and past customers of the Ten All Access Australia Subscription Service.

their plans are a bit pricey to maintain long term. I assume this "deal" is more to do with intent to churn?

    • Only worth it to keep if u have origin gas/electricity for the $10 discount

  • read the T&Cs, no mentioned for previous customers. Does anyone know how long I needed to be away of origin nbn to qualify this deal?

  • +1

who's the NBN provider for Origin?
I has a bad experience of delay on watching you tube last year with them and I cancelled.
    cheers

    • +1

      ABB I believe

    • +1

Same. When they transitioned to ABB, YouTube, Google services broke. Frustrated the (profanity) out of me. Spent two days with support trying to fix it and ported out the next day. (profanity) em

  • Tempting, however ABB international speed is slow.

Are we still valuing the Paramount subscription at $8.99 for the year?

    • +1

      Less

  • Does this stack with the $100 referral?

    • +2

Referral ended, tried looking around for it.

      • whats with the Referral link under the deal then? Do these not work?

  • +2

You will receive your Everyday Rewards points approximately 45 days after you signed up to your Origin Internet plan, provided that:
    a. your Origin Internet plan is still active at that time; and
    b. you have a valid and current Everyday Rewards membership linked to your Origin Internet account at the point of sale of the Origin Internet plan

  • can anyone recommend alternative for MoreTelecoms nbn?
currently paying $83 for their 205/21 via commbank discount, but this is my last month of discount so it will revert back to $107. they offered $5 retention discount but that is still $102. hoping to get inputs from ozbargainers.

  • How do you avoid direct debit with them? There's a CC card payment

    • Avoid this because of privacy or something? The CC payment does incur a surcharge

      • no, because I'd prefer to pay them when the invoice comes, maybe through beemit to avoid the CC charge while still getting the CC points, rather than having to provide the CC details upfront. But I guess there's no way around it, it's required at signing up.

        • Yeah totally forgot. Clever!
Btw, one tip I figured out after churning cc is Beemit may not get you points if you're using Westpac cc while Citibank cc works fine. I tested it last December.
I actually prefer Zippay as it can stagger your pay even further.

    • +1

Broadband doesn't incur CC surcharge, can confirm from personal experience: https://www.originenergy.com.au/help-support/billing-and-pay…

  • Just signed up cheers

  • I got my origin nbn activated yesterday, just wondering when/how I will get the Paramount voucher/code?

Also with the same speed nbn seems more laggy compared to Tangerine&Belong. Especially on my android a lot of Apps are nearly not loading while a speed test on my Android shows the full speed. There is definitely something not working as it should.

    • Signed up on 26th Apr, got my paramount+ activation email today

      • got mine also just now. Somewhere in the T&Cs it also said "up to 5 business days"…

  • Can people who have signed up share their experiences with the service?

Someone from the last threads mentioned its no longer using ABB network (?) and speed latency is bad.

Coming from Superloop/ABB to Spintel from last six months I can tell the quality of NBN isnt as good (slow download speeds) and cant wait to get off of it, but dont want another bad service.

  • Merged from New Customer Definition - Origin Internet Deal

it says for new customer only,

i signed up with origin internet a year ago, am I still considered a new customer?

    cheers.

    • 30k points payout after 45 days of staying with Origin.

  • If I sign up within this offer period but for a later date will I still get 30k ER points? Anyone in the same boat as billing cycle doesn’t align with my Exetel plan and would have to forego 1 month cost.

  • Anyone signed up 45 days ago and got their points yet?

  • +2

signed up on 24 April, got my $150 in points (30000 points) on 25 May

  • Yep got it in the middle of my 2nd bill, cancelled but haven’t got my refund yet. Anyone knows if they would refund in the next bill or should I call them?

  • Still haven't got my P+ email… service was activated 30/05/23. Not that there's much that I'd watch on there anyway regardless. Hopefully no delays in getting points either!

  • Hey all, is anyone else having issues with getting their EDR points? I've been calling them every week for the past 6 weeks and every single time I call they say they're having issues with the EDR system and it's not only me affected. That they will escalate and I'll have my points the following week. I'm still yet to receive my points and I signed up in May.

I'm at the point where I'm getting so sick of following this up that I'm going to submit a complaint to the TIO. I've been plenty patient and they're clearly taking me for a ride.

    • Have not got mine and I signed up on 05/06.
