    • I'm getting 404 error when checking out, very odd

      • +2

        same thing here.

Went the chat route and the person on the other end had the same issue. Has put in a request for a specialist to contact me in 3-5 days.

Lets hope its before the period ends.

Thanks for the head up @RogueWolf, have 70,000 points with 20,000 expiring at the end of next month.

        • Keep trying over next few days, also Try different browsers, wouldn’t rely on telstra to get back to you as price ends 24th

          • @RogueWolf: This is a known issue for Telstra Reward store, i was told 5 weeks ago it will be fixed in few days

            • @AAN: This happened to me on my phone, but it went through on a laptop browser.

          • @RogueWolf: Chrome, Opera, Edge, Explorer and Firefox - all the same error..

            Will keep trying..

      • Do you have a screenshot of the 404 error?

        • Apologies missed this.

Current solution, as the deal has expired, I have been credited points to the normal sale value to redeem at 99,000.

Unfortunately still the same 404 error.

In-store not working also. Believe this is due to not currently having an active service with Telstra.

I change over to another provider but still have the points, but wont let me redeem.

  • Thanks. Been looking at these for a while.

  • Are these better than Sony's WF-1000XM4?

    • -6

Wouldn't even be close is my uneducated guess and I don't even own either

    • +1

Theres pros and cons. Neither is definitely better than the other, it depends on what you prefer. Like the call quality on the pixel buds is pretty insane, but the sound profile on xm4 would be better imo.

Another feature of the pixel buds is the smart swapping between devices.

    • They have different strengths - sidegrade at best maybe; I felt that way with my WF1000xm3. Better UI and convenience, better mic, worse sound quality, worse isolation, wobbly fit due to short and thick nozzle. If I'd known, I'd have gone for the xm4 instead.

Oh wow that is a killer price.

Linkbuds S is also a good alternative. $179 just a week ago but wasn't a massively surprising price so I didn't post.

  • +1

When taking delivery of your purchase, you'll need to show the same ID you used in your order - for security reasons.

Riiiiight. It's definitely reasonable to ask for detailed drivers license/passport information for a set of $200 earbuds. Which will most certainly be verified accurately by the time-poor, underpaid courier who lobs the box at/over the gate/roof before swift n' shifting it down the road.

Good price though, now to wait for it to be matched by a normal retailer - for "security" reasons.

Or will just be left in the nearby post office.

    • Yeah, absolute bullcrap and with all the recent hacks, it's not data that they actually need to keep.

  • I got these two weeks ago and they would overheat in my ear… But I still really liked them so I might get this, have refunded the last pair.

    • Something with Pixel and heating, my P6P and P7P all had/have the same problem. Yet, here I am , stuck with a Pixel for it's software.

      • +2

Its Google's poor engineering. Even getting Samsung's factory to manufacture this for them don't help matter. I knew the Pixel was a stupid product when Pixel 6 came with a front camera that couldn't match faces even though software is supposedly an expertise of Google rather than hardware.

        • +2

I don't understand why you have a neg but I have the P7P and I would agree with your statement, google always lets me down with its hardware.

          • @JoeBogan: still missing Huawei

            • +2

@drprox: I'm missing LG. Best phones made imo.

              • @cv05: Had problems with a G3 (battery), G4 and G6 (both had mobo issues) - all bought brand new.

When they were working, they were great. Cameras and build were on point, performance was decent. Feature set was extensive. But after 1-2 years, all died due to some issue.

                • @CrispyChrispy: My lg g3 was absolutely amazing. What a hell of a screen it had for its time! I was in heaven.

        • Just bought a P7, coming from the $200 Motorola g82. Happy but miss the dual physical sim and the flashlight shortcut and the power button menu.
I wish Motorola would build less phones but follow up on Android updates.
Oh main reason I switched back to pixel is the camera. Motorola camera is pretty terrible.

          • +1

@ShouldIBuyIt: Not sure about the P7 but the P7 Pro had a double tap feature that you can customise to launch an app, action or the torch. Just double tap the back in quick succession and your torch turns on.

            • @Trishool: Yep i set that up, still prefer the shake feature of the moto !

    • You got the winter version

  • Anyone know how these compare to the galaxy buds 2?

  • I've been waiting for these to drop in the rewards store and I'm 3300 points away! Guess I can't complain about paying $20 for these though. Thanks OP!

  • Are they good for iPhone? Or should I go for Air pods and which generation of Air pod? Please help.

    • +2

I don't think there's an app to adjust and customise them on the App Store, same story with Galaxy Buds, so go for AirPods.

If you're interested in these you're probably interested in ANC. Go for a pair of AirPod Pro 2nd Gen. Won't be this price, ever, probably, unless there's a price error of some kind. Maybe consider a pair of 1st Gen Pros, might find a pair floating around somewhere.

Be wary of fakes/clones being sold as authentic on Marketplace/Gumtree.

    • +1

Airpod and if you want like for like with these, then airpod pro.

  • Wonder if they will ship 2 pairs!!

    • They will, just pay $398.

  • Would it be best to order through the play store, get 10% Cashback and ask google for a price protection?

    • +1

Ask their livechat for a price match first to see if that's an option maybe?

      • Their website doesn't appear to have a live chat feature.

  • Be careful with the fit on these buds, I found them pretty bad and have gone through a bunch of different tips to try make them work. I've never had fitment issues with any earphones before, but these always seem to work their way out of your ear and fall out. There's a heap of threads online with people complaining about the fit of these too.

They sound great and the ANC is decent, I just find myself constantly having to push them back into my ears every 30 seconds or so while out walking and you can forget about jogging with them. I should have sent them back to google for a refund.

  • +1

Google store didn't match. Officeworks would though.

  • Purchased, thanks.

  • Hmm.. it's easy enough to get Buds2 Pro for $209 (I did last week) through price matching.. so no regrets there.

Now.. do I love the Buds2 Pro? I don't think so..

  • Tried to get it through Telstra plus store but kept getting 404 error…

  • Charcoal out of stock :( do I want fog…?

  • Fog now out of stock also

  • +1

Just saw the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro are also $199 + shipping @ PC Byte

    https://www.pcbyte.com.au/p/samsung-galaxy-buds2-pro-graphit…

Maybe worth making a separate post?

    EDIT: shows as in stock

    • Graphite only though.

  • Do you get 2 for 1?

  • +2

Isn’t Link Buds S a better choice, has the multi point, quick switching, and better codec support, only loses out on Hands Free Assistant, and Find feature?

    • I think the calls are a bit better on pixel buds, the link buds s have an auto transparency thing whenever you get a call making it a bit noisy .. speaking from reviews, havent actually tried it but keen to know more

  • +1

Available in-store , just picked up Rhodes, nsw

  • Both colours are back in stock
