    Good deal bro

  • Legend OP, Thank you!!
I waited on the Telstra deal hoping for a better or equal discount in future not wanting to spend right now.
    But this is great. Thanks!

    are these equal to XM4?

    • Xm4 will have better ANC since they have a foam ear tip but you can usually buy them aftermarket pretty easily.

      https://www.soundguys.com/google-pixel-buds-pro-vs-sony-wf-1…

      Good review.

      • +1

Sound is supposed to be a fair bit better on XM4 but maybe voice better on PBP

      • +4

@ freemer: Foam tips have nothing to do with ANC (Active Noise Cancellation). Foam tips can only help provide passive noise reduction.

  • what's the microphone quality like for zoom calls or compared to jabra elite 7 pro?

    • Okay not great, like most wireless earbuds.

The Jabra Elite 7 Pro have severe issues with voice pick-up though in that they filter out your voice as well as the background noise, so these are probably not going to be any worse in noisy environments.

      • How do the wireless earbuds fare in Zoom/ online calls compared to the wireless headphones such as Sony or Bose?

        • +1

Earbuds are almost always going to be worse than headphones, let alone when you compare earbuds to class leading headphones.

    • +1

With Jabra you should stick with Evolve series for best mic

  • +1

Are these better than samsung buds2 pro?

    • Depends on the phone you use

    • +2

I have a pair of Pixel Buds and my girlfriend has a pair of Samsung buds2 pro.

I have to say I was pretty jealous when I tried her Buds when I went for a run. Slightly better sound quality/bass, better ANC & also better fit in my ears personally (the Pixel buds seemed to push themselves out if I ran with them).
These have multipoint connectivity though which i dont think Samsung Buds do.

$150 is a super good price for these - I haven't seen the Buds2 Pro dip below $250 for awhile.

      • Buds2 Pro (White) were $169 at JB in December, Amazon matched. Was a price error so wasn't around long but I was lucky enough to get mine.

Once bitten, twice shy… / lest we forget?

    Exactly 1 year yesterday

optus took all my details, never sent me the tablet, then happily let the cyberpunks steal whatever they wanted.

Not to mention the endless debacle with support trying to get the A8

Tldr, will wait for a different retailer

    • I never did either. Talked to them the other day about it. I had no driver's licence or passport so put it down to that. Who knows

  • +1

how is ANC function compared to others, e.g sony XM4 etc

    • +1

Its quite good IMO. I use Pixel Buds Pro now after using XM4s and Bose QC35 and its not quite as good in terms of ANC as those Bose/Sony QCs/XMs etc, but a very good all rounder.

      • thanks, so Sony/bose still better in terms of ANC… Looking for one with good ANC function, so perhaps xm4 a better choice?

        • Or if you won't mind spending the money, the XM5 is coming later in the year

          • @Techie4066: Thanks, probably 5 is too expensive, 4 a better option

        • Yeah I'd say so, but they're not this cheap either. In terms of overall value, these are probs the best choice. They get you some pretty good ANC for $150 here. The Sony/Bose are a little better but of course, more expensive

        • If you want the best ANC, go for over ear headphones. I have the xm4 buds and ANC is pretty poor in my opinion.

          • @billy_bob: Thanks, do you mean Sony xm4 headphone than xm4 earbuds?

            • @coast666: Yes the headphones have WAY better ANC than the earbuds. And better sound quality too. They just get a bit hot and and sweaty if you wear them for a long time or go for a fast walk or run.

          • @billy_bob: You should check ANC is on in the app. Mine reverts to the ambient noise mode.

            • @Techie4066: Thanks for the suggestion, but I can assure you ANC is on, it's just not very good.

    • I have the XM3 and Buds Pro. I find the noise cancellation equivalent or close enough. If you truly prioritise NC then the Sonys would be a safer bet.

      • Thanks, don't listen music much, only after better ANC

        • You just sit in silence with your earbuds in with ANC on?

          • @serpserpserp: They might be using the noise cancelling abilities for other reasons. I have times where I use my noise cancelling buds to reduce the volume when I'm playing instruments so I don't damage my hearing, and then when we stop playing I just switch to ambient sound mode. When I'm doing this, I don't have music on, just ANC.

Not sure what the Sony buds and pixel buds are like for ANC but I've got the edifier neobuds pro and the soundcore space a40 and I find the space a40 better for noise cancelling. Neobuds are good, but the cancelling sometimes gets confused with instruments and ends up amping some sounds instead (like symbols crashing will sometimes get amped) whereas the a40 just blanket suppresses most noises.

  • How are these with ios

    • Follow

    • +1

Perfectly fine, in fact you can pari them to an Android and iOS device with multi-pair and flick between the two.

What you will be missing is an equaliser and the ability to make settings changes on your phone, but can turn noise cancellation etc on/off with touch controls.

I use mine with a Pixel 6 Pro and iPad and flick between the two.

  • +1

Charging stand is what I was personally after, got 2 (one for bedroom, one for office) thanks OP.

  • have a pixel 6 pro and in the market for some headphones so this is a no brainer, thanks OP

    • +1

A great idea to fully disengage your brain whilst on OzBargain!

  • I have the galaxy buds pro2 and a pixel pro 7, not sure if I should get these?

    • +1

      Just get it.

  • Charcoal and Fog only by the looks of it

  • Tried pricematching with JB but they said they can't as a membership is required. However I bought from Optus despite not having an account with them anyway. Would've liked to make use of 10% off gift cards but oh well. Great deal

    • +1

Tell them that no membership required?

  • just charcoal now, but been waiting a while for these to drop in price. thanks OP

  • +11

No aptx support, kinda disappointing for android

  • +2

I've got to delete Ozbargain from my favourites, this last week has been awful for the budget lol

  • its OOS.

    • I must have got close to the last pair, bought at 11:03. Sorry you missed out, hopefully they add more stock.

  • OOS already

  • +1

Had the Pixel Buds second gen and really like them, decided to upgrade to these because my old ones are finicky with getting them to charge sometimes (close the case but they still don't charge if not lined up sometimes) also sometimes one bud will randomly stop working for a day.

Was really happy with the Buds Pro, except they just don't stay in my ears, they slowly pop out. I had a look at the head of the driver thing is slightly larger therefore even the smallest tips are now too big for my ears, very frustrating. Ended up returning them, but now paranoid anything else I buy will be too big for my ears also…

  • oos

  • +2

Damn OOS already. Would've happily picked one up as case replacement.

  • Got a fog one, thanks OP .. website got stuck loading after payment but got email order confirmed .. YMMV

    • Same happened to me using PayPal. Also got email confirmation.

    • Did you guys get a confirmation from Optus or just the usual Paypal confirm email? I got the Paypal but nothing from Optus

      • +1

Same just PayPal confirmation, bit unsure now

        • Ordered around 10:50am. Got the same website stucked loading after payment. But got email confirmation from Optus and PayPal.

      • Just to close this out…received my order this morning from Startrack, and only just received Optus order confirmation just now lol. Well done team

  • Fog also gone

    • sent you DM, If you want to buy I can share the JBHIFI price-matched link.

      • Oh, could you DM me please. I just missed out.

        • sent to gareth886, FYI, I don't have anymore links :)

      • Can I get the link as well please :)

      • When I tried pricematching the guy said they couldn't cause Optus requires a membership lol. Oh well

  • +4

Thanks OP. Price matched at Officeworks for $142.50.

    • Oh Damn. Oh Damn. Oh Damn

    • +1

Will officeworks still price match if OOS online at Optus?

      • +1
        • +1

Depends on how stringently they check lol. Based on the staff behaviour you'd think they were personally losing out on commission or getting physically punished for every pricematch they let through.

          • @vawiyoci: Physically punished? Like capital punishment?

          • +2

@vawiyoci: I work at Officeworks and I can say we employees do not have commission and our managers don't give a shit about the price beat. We just go "Oh wow Optus has it for cheap" and move on.

            • @epicacidpro: Guess your store isn't one near me then cos they always seem go to great effort to look everything up and checking every little detail eg exact model product number and colour, delivery conditions, abn, company details etc and at the end they also look disappointed and pissed off that they couldn't deny or reject the price beat lol. Was definitely easier to do it over the phone except for the 6pm closing time.

              • @vawiyoci: We usually find the product code off the website the customer found the cheaper item. If it matches then we allow it, idk why ur Officeworks is so picky.

                • @epicacidpro: Yeah hence my initial joke about whether the staff were personally invested in rejecting pricebeats lol.

EDIT: And they you have this sort of experience where it seems like they don't pricebeat optus at all?

    • Price beat.

  • My order didn't go throught, but I received this from Paypal: You authorised a payment of $150.00 AUD to Likewize Australia Pty Ltd ([email protected]).

    • got confirmation email from Optus. Likewize is their accessories partner.

      • That sounds shady AF 😂

      • likewise

  • thanks got the charging stand

  • +1

Google Pixel 7/Pro cases for $25 is not bad

    • I wouldn't have minded if this was the price when I bought my Pixel 7, ended up getting a Spigen Tough Armor case instead for $39.

  • Got a charging stand. Lucky I put on hold my purchase decision last week. Thank you OP

  • +2

Got the stand too, looks like an okay price considering it comes with the 30W fast charger which is $45 RRP

  • Dose the stand work with Samsung S23U? Thanks in advance!

    • +1

It seems to work alright, seen here for a S21 Ultra and some other devices like iPhone, AirProds Pro.

      • does this fast charge or better to get 45w samsung wall plug for same price?
