The kingstons are absolute garbage, not just the real world performance, but they die so often you need multiples to replace the ones that died.

The SanDisk is a much better deal.

The writing speed is better on SanDisk.

Amazon must have sold out, it's a third party seller now

      • It's not just third party "sold by", it ships from a 3rd party.

Which generally means they use terrible couriers like Aramex.

When it's a third party seller, but ships from Amazon's warehouse, at least you know it will actually turn up.

Any bigger storage for a good price?

  • Gone. Current price is $13.95.

  • I bought one of these at Officeworks. They work well, as expected. However, they get very hot, really fast, even at idle. I'm not sure why or if it will have any effect on its lifespan.

    • LOL You've just described every single USB stick in existence - that's why it's better to get a m.2 adapter and throw in a chepa nvme.

Regarding the heat, I disagree. This USB 3.0 stick gets much hotter than other sticks ive used. Not warm, hot.

While this may or may not be characteristic of USB 3.0 sticks, and may or may not bother prospective buyers, anecdotally, the metal housing is less comfortable to touch than plastic sticks I've owned or used.

        • I've had the same issue with numerous Sandisk sticks. Sure, all USB sticks get warm, but the Sandisks and a Kingston I have all got quite hot and if you're copying a large file at USB3 speed the connection drops out after a while, no doubt due to overheating.

  • Isn't $9/10 the normal going price for 64GB drives?
