It's really not a deal. These literally have 0 value. They're for travellers who may need a quick prepaid plan on their arrival. You can get these in many hotel lobbies on those brochure stands. Absolutely no reason why you should be grabbing them because they're "free".

Why pay for a SIM and then pay again to activate it?
Companies like Boost will literally PAY you to activate SIMs with balance already on them.

I been to parts of asia where you can activate a sim online no ID asked.
