Finally points arrived at my QFF. Came through at 01/08 it seems, not on my usual statement cycle. Would have been my 4th statement (and > 5 calls) otherwise, about 12 weeks after I met the min spend. Definitely the worst of the bunch, but hopefully fixed going forward.

  • +1

Received my 70000 points, i signed up on 27th July and approved the next day with the card being sent a few days later. Must say it was a very smooth process.

There must have been a bug in the system for those that have had to wait for so long. I don't think I even have my first statement yet.

    • Wow that's crazy short timeline if your 70k points have been credited to Qantas already!
      I'm still waiting on mine

      my timelines:
30 June - spend requirement met
8 July - first statement - bonus points on statement, only base points credited to QFF

      • can't edit my comment, i signed up on the 27th June I meant.

    • This is insane.
My card was approved 8 May, met spend by 1 June.
Today is the end of the 9th week since I met the spend and still no points. Had about 4x calls and one in branch appointment to complain.

      • whoops sorry, i typed the wrong date, I signed up on 27th June, duh!

      • 05/08/2023: points arrived in qff.

    • At which point do they ask for your QFF Number or to enroll in the Qantas Points Earning program? I applied yesterday, approved today but at no point have been asked. I assume this is something I set up once I have received the card and activate it on the app?

      • Pretty sure it was part of the application process

Id check if u were approved for the qantas ff card or of you were approved for a normal clear options card

        • I gave them a call, they advised I provide them with my QFF number when the card arrives. They also confirmed my card was part of the 70k Qantas points promo so hopefully it all goes well.

I got my 70000 Qantas Points today! The 70k points appeared in my first statement, but the bonus points was added to my Qantas account on the third statement date (3rd August). Thanks for this great deal!

  • +1

does suncorp do prorated refund of the annual fee?

    • nup. almost no one does on the reward cc's anymore

  • +2

Also got my points on my 3rd statement. Hang in there everyone. Going to cancel today

    • +1

haha just came back to this post to update as well, received me points this morning.

  • +1

    signed up: 1st of may
min spend hit: 9th of july
points received: today, 3rd of august.

    • What date did u get your first statement?

      • 3rd of june

  • Signed up in April, spend hit May and points shown on first statement. Still haven't received a single base or bonus point, AFCA complaint raised. Their response so far has been idiotic, just advising me of my QFF details being updated months ago, and not addressing the issue at all. The worst experience I've had with a credit card so far, and a great introduction to Suncrap.

    • So based on the more recent comments seems like it's only fixed for newer customers? Hopefully that's not the case as I'm also waiting, and not even showing on my statements yet unlike some of the other holders here.

      • +1

HI guys, I also had to launch one and then the points miraculously appeared in my qff account. AFCA complaint helped so much - I was waiting for an enquiry internally for 2 months.

        • Great to know! Internal enquiry is still going along with zero success, the responses are friendly enough from the online team, but the complaints team are just plain incompetent. How long did your AFCA complaint take to turn around, if you don't mind me asking?

EDIT: just logged in on the off chance, I got a response from Suncorp yesterday (9/8) confirming an off-cycle transfer was in progress and awaiting approval, so it looks like they are at least doing something in the background now. As I say, the people manning the online messaging couldn't be more responsive, but I was less than impressed with the initial response to my complaint which just repeated something which I had stated had occurred, and hadn't helped, in my original submission. Anyway, we will see. I'm confident it'll be resolved eventually.

      • Yeah seems so, I've still had nothing. They show on the statement each month, but clearly state that nothing has been transferred!

        • Complaint submitted July 20 resolved 3rd August.

  • Card approved: 4th of July
    Min spend hit: 3rd August
    Points received: 5th August
1st statement still not yet received

While the points have come through, can I just say this is still not a particularly good card because the app doesn't support managing the card. Can't think of any other card in the recent past not to have an app, even just to view your balance!

    • +1

the app doesn't support managing the card

Even their own bloody website doesn't support the card lol it takes you to an external link to see balance statements and card management options.

      • Wow, and I thought this was an issue specific to my account… It's a good thing they send statements via email, and the app can display card transactions

        • UI especially the 2FA parts look pretty much identical to Citibank's so must be an IT quirk again similar to whatever is causing qantas points blockage.

    • app shows balance and transactions for me but i still agree, i had some technical difficulties too.

      • Not for me. I am using android. Are you using Iphone by any chance?

        • yes IOS

        • Did u add the card into the suncorp app account? I was checking the website manually, but there is an option in the app to add the card and at least you can see your card transactions and pay off the balance this way.

          • @eastmeetswests: Thanks, sorted. Now I have some semblance of functionality in the app

  • Points received this morning! Time to cancel.

  • +1

    Card approved: 10th July
    Min spend hit: 17th July
Points received: 5th August (Both normal points and bonus points in Qantas account)

Not received first statement yet. Was also charged card fee today and qantas account fee 3 days ago.

Looks like Suncorp/Citi/NAB have got their act together. Might be a worthwhile churning card now that the issue has been ironed out…

    • insane that some people haven't even received their first statement yet.

    • So you received points after 2 weeks. Others took 2 months. I'm still wondering to see whether its worth applying for this one!

      • I applied quite late for this card in terms of how long the offer has been available. From reading the comments, it looks like the people who applied in may june are the ones which had the issues, where as i got lucky and possibly citibank have sorted it out…

        • So I’ll probably also receive points after 2 weeks if applying for the card now? Assuming the issue is fixed

          • @Purkulator: Possibly… unless suncorp pay out everyones in batches once a month or something

Looks like when i got my points, other peopme whod been waiting for a while also got it over that weekend

  • Still have not received my bonus points.

  • Also worth checking the status of your points via suncorp’s online portal/card services and contact them if it says “rejected”

    • Why would it be rejected? If they believe you haven't met the requirements usually they just don't give you points without any feedback.

      • +1

This does happen, my base points have all come back like this. When I called up, they claimed my QFF details were incorrect (they weren't), then did something apparently to update them. Still haven't received anything, but good way to waste some time on the phone.

        • Exactly the same issue with mine.

          • @RedBlueRedBlue2000: How did they resolve it? They've just claimed that my details are incorrect, despite them matching what QFF have character for character smh.

            • @QFFlyer: They updated my details and they said the points would come in the next statement.

              • @RedBlueRedBlue2000: I've already had that spiel a number of times, still nothing. What a sh1t show. Glad it worked out for you though.

              • +1

@RedBlueRedBlue2000: I just called them up about my issue and they did the same thing. Updated my correct name on file and said the points will land in the next statement. Although based on @QFFlyer comment I am have the feeling that it still won't land.

                • @TechNerd: Update: some points finally landed (2nd month statement). No bonus points yet but they have said it is processing (has been changed from rejected to accepted) and will land in my account in the next 5 days. I’ll update again when/if this happens.

                  • @RedBlueRedBlue2000: Thanks for the update. Hopefully the bonus points land as well.

                  • @RedBlueRedBlue2000: Any update on the bonus points? Have you received them yet?

                    • @TechNerd: Unfortunately still nothing but they have said it is processing. I might take QFFlyer’s course of action and refer them to AFCA.

                    • @TechNerd: Final update: points finally dropped into my account after referring them to AFCA.

                      • +1

@RedBlueRedBlue2000: Nice, thanks for the update. I've also referred them to AFCA, so will hopefully get my points soon as well.

    • +1

For some reason I see rejected on my portal as well. Will contact them to see what they say.

  • Still nothing for me, I rang up a few days ago and they apparently created a ticket.

  • Got the points today on 2nd statement. After meeting the spend almost 8 weeks ago.
Anyone had any success with prorata refund?

    • +1

No credit card provider does that anymore

  • got annual free refunded as well after launching complaint

    • Cool. How did you go about this?

    • What did you write in the complaint

      • Points not received qff 70,000 and I would like a refund of my annual fee.

        • I assume this was before you received the points. Have you since received the points? Was this just an email submission?

  • Expired deal?
"To earn 70,000 bonus Qantas Points, you must apply for a Suncorp Clear Options Platinum Credit Card by 3 October 2023"

    • +4

It’s 9 August 2023. October is in the future?

  • Got my points today finally after lodging a AFCA complaint two days ago. Funny how that works.

    • +1

funny how it's the only thing that works

  • Let's hope my AFCA complaint works and they finally give me my points!

  • Anyone try for a fee refund? Any luck?

  • Approved: 13th July
    Min spend hit: 20th July
Statement and points received: 13th August

Looks like they've fixed their back-end issue.

    • Only for the newer signups it looks like.

      • I just got mine today with no ticket/complain, applied 5/5 & hit the spend on first statement. So it might be fixed for everyone now.

        • Was it already shown on your statements though? I'm in a similar time frame as you but the bonus portion hasn't even appeared on either of my statements so far.

          • @johnjones8: Yeah it showed on my first statement as Base Points Earned xxxx
            Bonus Points Earned 70,000
and i only got the Base.

            • @kotlzz: That explains it then guess people like myself would prob end up getting it sorted out last in line whenever they actually get around to it.

  • +4

Called to cancel my card today. Requested AF refund on the basis that Suncorp did not meet T&Cs of card (i.e. failed to credit 70k QFF points within 8 weeks). They have made an application to request the $129 fee be refunded pro-rata. I said I would be happy with that.

No confirmation as to whether it will be successful, but worth a crack.

    • any updates?

      • Nope. I got emails attaching “letters” on 15 Aug and 22 Aug both saying the same thing - confirming account closure, but both were silent on the AF pro-rata refund.
I may have received duplicate letters as I specifically requested an account closure confirmation letter to assist with application for credit with another bank.
I’m overseas and am not bothered to follow up. If I hear anything further I’ll update. If anyone else has success and thinks I should follow up, let me know.

        • I got the annual fee pro rata refunded on the first request easily with no questions asked.

          • @BrunoBear: Thanks. Just on the phone? Will be a pain to call them again from overseas but might be worth the effort then.

            • @ts13: Nope, just sent them a secure message. This was about 2 weeks ago.

      • Scratch that, I was trying to send a secure message via App but I can no longer access the account via app as it is no longer active. I tried to login online to see if I could send a message from there and can see my account is in credit of $96.75 which is equal to AF of $129 pro-rata at 9 months ($129/12*9=$96.75). AF has been refunded pro-rata but I received no confirmation about when this happened. As the account is closed and I do not have a Suncorp account, I will likely have to contact them and request they send the credit to another bank account. This does not appear on my last statement, but maybe they will issue another statement, showing the credit balance.

  • Citi claiming that my name/QFF number mismatch and that's why they cannot send the points now. They absolutely don't, they're 100% correct. Funny how NAB and Citi proper can manage to send them across but somehow Suncrap cannot. I can't wait to get rid of this card.

    • Are you talking about Citi or Suncorp?

      • Either/or. Citi run their CC operation, Citi are owned by NAB. I’ve only ever had issues with the Suncorp card, I’ve had many from NAB and Citi, but the complaints re Suncrap are dealt with by Citibank.

  • How long did it take for people to receive their physical card in the mail?

    • +2

      Approx 1 week from approval

      • +1

Cheers - you had to call them to get a TAC to activate the card? Suncorp website has gotta be one of the worst I've seen from any financial institution in this day and age.

        • I bank with suncorp so i already had internet banking setup, so it easier to activate the card. Not sure of the process otherwise sorry

        • +2

I had this even though the website signup says they should have sent out the activation code but they didn't. Has to have been the most retarded activation process for a credit card I've ever come across.

    • Hey guys, just received my card today and joined the Qantas earning program by giving them a call.

When you check the Credit Card Services portal and click Rewards > Modify Details > Qantas, for the Frequent Flyer Name is your name correctly formatted?
I've had them add my information over the phone but can see it formatted as "LASTNAME,FIRSTNAME,MR" (replaced with my actual last & first name).
Not sure if this is normal or if its meant to be "FIRSTNAME LASTNAME" but wanted to double check.

      • +1

That's what I've got - off the top of my head it's the same as what I used to have in my Citibank, so I wouldn't worry about that.

        • Great, thank you for getting back to me!

  • +1

    Card approved: 2 August
First spend on card: 8 August
Hit minimum $3k spend: 14 August
Card annual fee applied: 1 September
70K QFF points hit FF account: 2 September

Had low expectations signing up and shocked to seek the points come through immediately on first statement.

I feel a great amount of gratitude towards those who went through the hard yards and having to make complaints - couldn't have been a better experience for me!

  • Finally got my points after ~5 months. Requested fee refund via the message centre but they refused, mentioning (falsely) that they had already given me "points compensation". Closed account now.

  • Points finally posted 7/9 - AFCA complain opened 25/7, so around six weeks to resolve, but got there in the end, just a few days short of 5 months in total from approval (and 4 months from the points appearing on my statement).

    • Did you manage to get the fee refunded at least? Feel like they've stopped after the recent 'fix'.

      • No, I didn't initially ask for it, but then did once it got to the four month mark, which they glossed over and didn't respond to. Tbh I don't mind paying the fee for the amount of points received, so won't push it.
