I wonder if you need to exchange it first on the Ultimate Giftcard website to T&W egift?

      • +2

Good pickup. Temple & Webster is an exchange-only retailer.

The commenter should still check whether there are any redemption limits for Temple & Webster gift cards on the Temple & Webster website (just in the case the limit is 2 per transaction or something strict like that).

        • Thanks for the tips. I've looked on exchangeyourcard.com.au and sadly there aren't any Temple & Webster cards to exchange with. Have contacted customer service for advice, and will share here if they can offer anything meaningful.

  • Thanks for posting this.

So how does this one work? Last time there was a 15% off, so we paid less for the amount on the card. But how would 10% bonus value work? so like, we pay $50 for $50 ultimate card but get $55 on the card? Am I right? Sorry if this sounds stupid, I never paid attention to this kind of thing before

    • +1

we pay $50 for $50 ultimate card but get $55 on the card? Am I right?

      Yep.

      • +1

        Thanks for your response ^_^

      • If paying $50 at checkout, how would i know if the bonus value was added? Is there a way to verify card value immediately after purchase (without using).. would the value be on the coles reciept?

Might not use it for a while and would be a hassle to realise down the track that bonus value was missing and attempt to chase it up.

        • +1

No, the receipt only shows the original amount without the bonus. I added the card to myprepaidcentre website and it shows the full balance (initial + bonus).

  • A quick question, as I have never got one of these bonus giftcards before.

Are they specially marked with bonus 10%? Or are they just the normal ones? Thank you in advance!

    • +1

They are normal ones. After activation if you check balance, it will have an additional 10%

  • I went in this morning the coles had no idea about it, can’t find the link for it through freepoints either. Anyone know if they pulled the promo?

    • Check out the latest promotions for

      Coles - http://www.shopfully.com.au/viewer/135921/1

    • +1

I just went and got some. Promo is on but rather confusing as you have no way to check until after you've bought the cards and then check the balance online. Doesn't even show loaded value on the docket. Prefer if it was like 10% off so it shows at the checkout before you pay. That way you know you at least getting the correct gift card that's part of the promo.

      • +1

        This is the way

Got some from local Coles this morning. Paid $100 for each $100 gift card, and checked the balance online, it shows $110.

  • Hoping this is going to work at Coles Local Stores?

Keen for the Ultimate Eats to use at Nandos and Grill'd.

  • -1

has anyone tried below in Coles

1 Use Coles Myer gift card to purchase $100 ultimate gift card (most likely will not work)
2 Use $500 perfect eftpos to purchase $100 ultimate gift card ?
3 use $100 westfield eftpos to purchase $100 ultimate gift card ?

    Thanks so much

  • -1

Just to be clear and don’t get the wrong gift card what should I look for.
Previous I use to ask them to scan to see if on offer and they said yes.
But it seems you don’t get the discount this time but extra instead which is weird and can’t tell until after buying.
I don’t like this method and they could just run a few days and stop the promo and you get left a card with nothing extra.

  • +1

What does 10% bonus value mean? If I buy a $100 then gift card will be loaded with $110 or?

    • +1

      Yep

      I purchased a $50 and got $55 instantly

  • Anyone tried buying Ultimate Him/Student and had success with getting the bonus value?

    • +3

Picked up a $50 Him card to check and can confirm it's now showing a $55 balance

      • Cheers mate, just grabbed a $100 Him with the bonus

  • Just bought $100 home gift card, looked up the balance on their website and it is still $100 does it take time to add on the bonus? Am I looking in the wrong place?

    • Congratulations, you made the rookie mistake of buying the wrong card. Are you new to these cards?

    • oh no. You bought TCN Home card instead of Ultimate Home

      • +1

Damn… I missed the word ultimate!

Just saw that Timezone has a upcoming offer happening on Saturday 6 May for the double dollar offer. So we can spend out the Ultimate Kids/Teens/Students/Everyone cards.

    • That's the plan.

  • Just saw from the Ultimate Cards website, they've a new kind of the card called Ultimate Gaming & Bites. Donno when they put them onto the store, or if anyone saw this new kind of the card in store?

    • +1

It was not on the Ultimate gift card website on 18 April, but I first spotted it on the website on 23 April.

I have not seen it at Coles, Woolworths nor BIG W since it was introduced (and this is across three states), but if it is anything like the introduction of the Ultimate Everyone gift cards at the end of September 2022, it will be a few weeks before they start appearing at brick and mortar retailers.

  • Grabbed 2 x $50 and confirm $55 on website. Easy load up for Timezone (in-person for split payment).

    • Anyone experiencing issues with adding to wallet? Go to balance for the expiry date… was the issue for me.

    • Should use them on coming Saturday 6 May as the double dollar campaign is on.

Just came back with my haul. Some tips if you're inceptioning with last week's 5 X $250 Coles MC GCs:

-Signature is required, so make it easy for the self-service attendant. Go when quieter.
-Paying with split payments is not allowed/frowned upon. Make each transaction $250.
-Buy denominations that match the colour $note ($100=Home=green, $50=Everyone=gold), so it's easier to track the tripling of cards (5 to 15) if possible.
-Check each card is 'Approved' on the receipt.

    • When I did. I got asked to see the card. So it might be up to the attendant. Just flashed my credit card as I know that needs a "signature".

    • Why is a signature required for Coles Mastercard gift cards? I thought you could set a PIN at the EFTPOS terminal (which is what I did on one card today).

      • I didn't set one and just used it as it was after purchase. In fact when I swiped it just processed the payment like a Visa Vanilla for me. Perhaps, setting a pin that would make things faster to checkout i.e draw less attention?

      • Don't know, I've used the same cards to buy regular groceries didn't need a signature.

        • There’s a threshold to trigger a pin/sign prompt when a transaction is being made, not sure is that around $20? It it is less than the amount then there’s no prompts, or if it exceed the limit, the prompt will appear.

      • Hi @WookieMonster - I do not recall needing a signature with the Coles Mastercard but still interested in knowing how could you set a PIN at the EFTPOS terminal?
Is it different from setting it via online

        • +1

Signature verification is optional for Coles Mastercard gift cards, but you must use PIN verification as soon as you set a PIN on a gift card.

To set the PIN on the EFTPOS terminal, you can only do this if you are prompted for a PIN. When you see the PIN prompt screen, enter four digits of your choice and then press Enter/OK/the green button.

          • @WookieMonster: Thanks. Also, I thought coles has restricted purchase of any giftcards with Coles mastercard. Isn’t that true or inception is working?

            • +2

@bargain-lover007: You will trigger the Invalid Product Mix error if you try to use a Coles Mastercard gift card to pay for at Coles:

              • Coles Mastercard gift cards
              • Vanilla Visa gift cards
              • Coles Group & Myer gift cards

I have not recently tested it on any other gift cards sold at Coles, although a person above said they were able to use Coles Mastercard gift cards to purchase Ultimate gift cards.

Keep in mind that the clause you see in Coles Mastercard gift card deals (you cannot use Coles Mastercard gift cards to purchase any other gift cards at Coles) is mostly a policy written on paper, so it would be largely up to staff to enforce this.

              • +1

@WookieMonster: Tried to buy a $50 Ultimate everyone card with coles mastercard and the transaction was approved. So the restriction is not enforced by the system.

                • @bargain-lover007: Signature required? or you set a pin?

                  • @Sheng: I had set the pin via mybalancenow.com
The system prompted for pin, i entered the pin and transaction went through successfully.

  • Does that deal includes ebay?

FYI I just did a check of participating retailers and can see there have been two changes in the last week:

    • Drummond Golf was removed from the Ultimate gift card scheme, but the Ultimate gift card FAQs states that any Ultimate gift cards with the Drummond Golf logo on it will continue to be accepted at Drummond Golf (which is the same situation as Supercheap Auto, BCF and rebel).

    • Autobarn was added to the Ultimate gift card scheme (Everyone, Him, Home).

  • JB Hifi doesnt allow these to be swapped for their own gift cards anymore?

Good guys doesnt allow this either - but i am not sure if they ever did

    • It has not been possible to exchange Ultimate gift cards for JB Hi-Fi gift cards through the Ultimate gift card website since November 2021.

  • I have an old card with a few dollars left on it Ultimate home looking to buy something cheap and use this to get even less on jb site.
I believe I can use this on the site and use it like a cc card but what month and year do I use? And I take just use my own name

    • try 12/29

      • I tried that it never worked maybe with the home card Ultimate when you add it to cc details on jb site maybe it needs the amount in full to pay for item?
I thought i could use whatever is left in card and rest by other payment?
Maybe the only way I can use this card is by using it in store?
I did use the majority of it previously but thought I use it on something cheap on jb site

        • That’s right. You need to have enough on the Ultimate card to cover the price of item in full.

          • @bargain-lover007: So only way to use what’s left is in store then

            • @bwatt72: Yes. Or you can buy giftcard equal to the difference in price of the item and the left over balance. Pay with giftcard and then use ultimate visa card to cover rest.
