can get 5W40 from autobarn and for cheaper too
Shouldnt be paying $30+ for a 5L oil bottle

    • not sure 5W40 and 5W30 different?

      • generally higher number on right(operating temperature), or a lower number on left (winter number) is okay (your milage may vary depending on your car and engine)

For me both are suitable 30, and 40 operating temperature viscosity

unsure why you got neg'd, totally true.

In my case, I've been using 5W30 for 2 years now, and my oil consumption is kinda getting outta hand. I'm looking to move to a 4W or 10W40 to see if I can curb that consumption.

There is a whole lot about oil film strength or resistance to shearing from the stresses in the engine. It's all very interesting and the main take away I find is "thinner isn't always better!"

    • How is it cheaper at Autoarn? Same price on website?

    • Oils ain't oils

    • What oil you using. Decent ones are around 40

      • Right now car has GW 5W-30.

IMO GW, Castrol, Valvoline, Penrite are all decent brands dude

        • GW is a budget oil brand.
