  • Does Motorola do Android One?

    • +2

Not sure that Android One is really a thing any more. See here:
      https://www.androidauthority.com/what-happened-to-android-on…

      • i was gonna say that was a thing like 3-4 years ago wasnt it? havent heard it mentioned since then

        • +3

          That’s a shame.
The guarantee of updates was a breathe of fresh air for non Samsung/Pixel devices

          • +3

@Commodore64: With Google, nothing is guaranteed.

            • +1

@Mitch889: Well no. Their sole aim is to maximise profit, accumulate power / control. If you see the big picture you can understand their moves.

  • +2

Yep this is the deal. I was surprised that other Nokia one got upvoted so much when it's a piece of garbage. This phone benchmarks wayyy better, recently purchased it for my sister @ 250 and thought that was a good deal, this is excellent.

  • Thanks so much. I need this as an iPod for an event next week.
Everything I need literally soxuring the internet trying to find something I can run everything in cheap.. !!
    Legend !!!

      literally soxuring the internet

I initially thought that I was just so far out of the loop with "internet speak" these days, but then I realised that you probably just meant to type "scouring" :-)

Great phone, especially at this price. Excellent battery for my use, disappointed in the camera and the LCD screen means the screen looks black when viewing in landscape with polarised sunglasses. No wireless charging, but charges quickly and lasts a long time, so not too worried there.

  • Sold out already. geez

    • at HN too?

      • +5

Got one at HN, thanks. Gave Gerry some money. I feel dirty, need to take a shower.

        • +1

Yeah, look, i was gonna say i know we dont like to give money to that scumbag but is he any less a scumbag than Bezos?

I'd argue Bezos is the bigger scumbag tbh with u given the way he treats workers directly.

          • @Iggemo: Probably the same, I just find Amazon more convenient 🤣

            • +1

@Vita85: I doubt HN employees are pissing in bottles rather than taking a break for fear of being sacked and that they are fired for talking about joining unions, so i dont really think it's the same, i'd say Bezos is way way worse than Gerry. For some reason OzB hates HN (which i understand) but is fine with the richest guy in the world who won't allow employees a simple bathroom break; go figure.

              • +4

@Iggemo: People are still dirty about GST being added to imported goods under 1k value, in which Gerry was a major advocate for. I am not a fan of Gerry though I do agree that it levels the playing field and compliance with this requirement hasn’t been that difficult after all now that eBay, Amazon etc charge the GST, and small time sellers don’t need to.

                • @kev98: Yep, the GST thing is my peeve with Gerry.

          • -1

@Iggemo: Bezos is just as scummy, but has less direct impact on Australia than Gerry

  • is this 5G? specs at HN shows 3g, 4glte.

    • No there is no 5G on this phone. OP has the incorrect specs.
It is a decent phone for the price so long as you don't need 5G.

      • He's copied it from the Amazon ad. That would be sufficient grounds for a return I'd say!

Motorola G62 is 5G, bought one for my sister at Xmas for $249, should be able to negotiate that price at TGG or elsewhere.

      • There was supposedly a G32 to be released in India that was rumoured to have a 5G Unisoc chipset.
I don't think the T606 supports 5G though if that is actually what's in this one. Can't find any official variant of the G32 that does have a Unisoc chipset though.

Got one of these at the end of last year for the kids, Snapdragon 680 4G chipset. Adequate phone for the sub $200 paid.

if you read between the line … Bluetooth 5.0, and 4G…. so there is 5G LOL

Price match at OW? Cant do Harveys!

  • Thanks got it from HN i feel dirty

    No NFC

    • +2

The Moto G32 I recently purchased from BigW does have NFC.

    • +1

Don't think you can trust much of the specs on that page. Don't think there is a 5G Unisoc G32 at all.

This is the only variant I'm aware of.

    • +3

Amazon spec's are a joke. It is fascinating that they get away with wrong and incomplete product specifications for most of the products that they sell themselves.

    • This has nfc.

Still available at Harvey but the post title should remove 5G cause it doesn't have it and it's deceiving!

Seeing as technology had not evolved in the 3 years I've had an Oppo A52 (similar spec phone to this) I bought for $250, I figured I'd buy it as a spare if the specs are unlikely to improve in another three years. The battery life has diminished in the Oppo but not badly enough that I needed anpther phone yet. The Oppo's factory case with raised corners saved the screen from cracking multiple times.
