I see why you’re looking for a set of cheaper containers

239.20 for plastic, not even glass

I know what you mean. To be fair the plastic these are made of is pretty good. The bigger issue I have with them is that the lid takes up a fair chunk of the container volume

Good price for these containers. Honestly they seem like they are the best containers you can get like this, despite the heavy price. Only hear really good things.

The air tight button on these containers is not something I've seen on any other brand. I tried looking for cheap dupes but they don't exist as far as I can tell

What's wrong with the kmart ones? Only cost a fraction of the price.

    • It's only got 10

      • Buy 2 sets then? Still less than a third of the price.

The bigger issue with the Kmart version is the smaller variety of volume sizes - 5 sizes vs 14 sizes (or shapes) for the OP version.

No idea how they compare in terms of the vacuum seal though, which might even be the key consideration as that is usually the main reason why people buy these…

KMart ones are pretty good. We didn't purchase sets, we looked at our old Tupperware units and replaced based on capacity. Ended up with a couple of very large for flour etc, heaps of 1litre, some 2litre, a few 500ml. But you need to work out what you are storing. Buying sets can be a false economy.

We got the KMart ones, nothing is wrong with them. I'm fairly picky with what we have and I haven't had any complaints.

I bought many of the original OXO Pop containers and at the time chose not to dwell on how much I paid. They have proven to be excellent pantry containers and I have no regrets for forking out the money. They look good, they work as needed, they stack well and, something that was really important to me, the lids are easy to take apart for thorough cleaning.

I don't own any of these 2.0 versions but assuming they are as good as the originals I would recommend them highly.

I find the original had better seal but the lid takes up considerably more space. Still prefer the tighter seal though

Buying a big set like this is a sure-fire way to have to store a bunch of empty containers in your cupboard.
