Good value 3rd party pencil (replaces Apple Pencil 2nd Gen)

Has:

• magnetic charging as per official pencil
• tilt sensitivity
• palm rejection
• button on the top end
• led status / battery indicator light

Does not have:

• “always on” - the official pencil is alsways on without need to wake.
• PRESSURE SENSITIVITY (this can be a big one for artists)
• side tap to switch tools

If you don’t mind waking the pencil from sleep after inactivity, and lack of pressure sensitivity, this is a great cheap alternative to the official Apple pencil.

  Nice , I recently upgraded to Apple Pencil 2 at $158 and it’s wayyyy better than the $30 knock off I was using, the charging thing was the main thing that annoyed me about the generic.

    Do u mean you upgraded from this one to Apple Pencil 2? If not which one did u use? Other than the charging convenience, any more comments?

      I was using a renaisser brand one on amazon.
      The one I have I can’t find on there anymore.

      And yes upgrade to pencil 2 , $158 was enough reduction for me to say f it, and just go for the authentic.

      Charging convenience, and overall accuracy/response better.

      At the end of the day, the generics are fine and will get you at least 80% of the experience really unless you are a hardcore artist.

      I personally plan to get back into photography (was mad keen on it before I had kids). And already have Adobe Lightroom on iPad, so hoping to see some great value in my retouching)

        Sweet! You’ll really enjoy lightroom’s new AI masking tools. Object/subject select, sky select etc. look into the insta360 X2 / X3 as well. Amazing fun and totally different perspective. Lots of great videos on youtube about techniques etc.

    No, you would need a 1st gen pencil knock-off. I’m sure they are also on amazon for a decent price
