Was considering this however heard this is sketchy with non-Apple phone users. Better go XM4 if non-apple.
Works perfectly with my Pixel 7 Pro. And the Bose are a better fit for my ears than the Sony. So double win for me.

Bigger. The Sony earcups don't suit me. Try them at a JB is my recommendation.
@nafe: Sony earcups are too shallow for my big ears and hurt after some time

I am using qc 45 with my s22 ultra and work laptop parallelly from past 4 months without any issue
I just heard that the Codec isn't as good as the XM4.
Wh1000xm4 has ldac but honestly most people cannot tell the difference between aac and ldac. I have a wf1000xm4 and, much that I am picky about sound quality, I can't really tell. Plus in comparison the sound quality in the bose qc 45 is miles better. Of course it doesn't compare because I'm putting earbuds vs cans. I have them both and bose for me is the way to go as I can use it all day without a headache. It's like a cloud around your ears. Most comfortable headphones I've ever used. I normally use it on my galaxy s21 ultra or windows laptop without issues. Also never had any problems with my ipad or google TV.

but Bose is more comfortable - we have multiple Bose - happy with

I tried both. The sound quality and noise cancelling in the nc 700 are a little better, but only marginally. The bose qc 45 is a bit brighter and the comfort is amazing. The nc 700 cans have some pressure and make constant contact with your ears, which can be a little annoying over time
Nc 700 is more comfortable and has bigger cups.
Got to try it in store
NC 700 has greater clamping force and is heavier so it cannot be "more comfortable" in comparison.
@Stopback: I'd imagine that people with smaller heads will have smaller ears (700 has larger earcups) and will prefer the lighter of the two, which will be the QC45.
@CocaKoala: and the 700 has hard narrow pointy plastic on top of your headband which is UNCOMFORTABLE for me !
I just bought xm4 this afternoon at TGG at $343. The touch control doesn't work at all. Perhaps it's because the battery was below 10% out of the box. Compared with my QC45, sound is slightly better but earcups are much smaller.
If the touch control doesn't work even with full battery, I'll return and never get Sony againMine works fine, umm how did you get for $343?

@SickMyDuck: last time a friend of mine did it in March 2023 and it still worked… you can always try and if you follow the steps correctly it should appear as $0 at the end.

Followed the link and Bose just processed the free QC45 after I return my faulty QC35 I bought in mid 2016. Great customer service.
I have the power on and off issue so followed the reddit steps and it still works.
@Southside: i did this twice actually…
the QC45 they initially sent me had an issue where 1 out of 4 external mic died and noise cancellation was cancelling my own voice (as mentioned by people not being able to hear me properly).
I requested another one 6 months after sending the request and they sent another brand new after i returned the broken one…
BTW:
Keep your QC35 case as it has the slot for the aeroplane adapter. The QC45 case doesnt have that slot.

i agree, but the QC45 "hear through" mode is really good when you use it for Teams meeting as you can hear your own voice better…
Teams meetings best avoided - hmm - mebbe keeping my QC35ii rather than seek QC45
