      I would not call it a “new” development. This change was brought in on 01 October 2022.

          My hunch - and this is only a hunch - is that The Good Guys would consider Ultimate gift cards as a Visa card, not a gift card.

          When you redeem an Ultimate gift card on their website, you redeem it in the debit/credit card section of the online checkout, not the gift card section. The end result is that the Ultimate gift card is processed through the Visa network, so it should be viewed by The Good Guys as a Visa payment, not a gift card payment.

          The Good Guys could try to do something sophisticated in the background and flag any transactions paid for Ultimate gift cards as a gift card payment (and they could do this based on the gift card’s BIN). However, I really doubt they would do that, because it would be a slippery slope. For example, what would stop them from listing Coles Mastercard gift cards as a “gift card”? Or Activ Visa gift cards? The danger is that if they maintain a list of BINs they classify as “gift cards”, what happens if they accidentally include the BIN for a CommBank Debit Mastercard?

              @fullmetal: The only type of split payment possible on the TGG website is if you redeem up to 2x TGG gift cards and one Ultimate gift card, because TGG can only process 1x Visa card in one online transaction.

      The LG 75UQ9000 is down to $1,199 on Good Guys website. Using "AUTUMN" code, the 10% off brings it down to $1,079. If you go through Cash rewards, you can get the max $80 cashback, brings price down to $999 - sub $1k for 75” Tier 1 brand is pretty sweet deal….
