The 14" M2 Pro can be had for ~100 more from the Apple Education store. I think it's the 512gb version though.I picked up an M1 Pro MBP, 16/512GB for $2047 "priced to clear" at Officeworks last weekend. Not sure it's all stores though.

I've had one for a good year, it's a great laptop but I've found its super fragile.
The aluminium scratches easily and the keyboard sits so close to the screen when its closed any pressure on the screens leaves marks on the screen and after some time the marks are permanent. Pretty poor for a laptop barely 12 months old.
I mean sure if you bubble wrap your MacBook "pro" it will be fine but in reality I can throw a HP or Dell equivalent around and it will have minimal blemishes after years of abuse.
