  • This is ok for 2 people serves, for bigger curries Pataks paste in a jar is better value

I find the instructions on the spice tailor misleading, it calls for 250g of protein in the recipe, but we use 500g and it’s still got plenty of sauce and does 4 serves.

I think they missed an opportunity by not calling it Spice Sailor.
    Who tailors spice?

It's tailored to a specific need, in this case curries.

      • This does not resonate

IDK spice sailor sounds too much like rum.
Or maybe a mysterious and long forgotten 6th spice girl rocking a peg leg, parrot and eye patch combo

      • It got you thinking right?

          Yarrr

  • I've tried these a few times and never been a huge fan, generally my go to curry mix these days is a place in Tassie that makes them - http://islandcurries.com.au/

It's just curry paste but damn it's tasty (and easy).

    • Had a quick look, they’ve lost me at mild vindaloo

The Keralan Coconut Curry is soooo good

    • Yes I like this one too, and my kid eats it which is a bonus.

If you want to do a "better than a jar" butter chicken, i get this from my local indian supermarket for when i cbf making it from scratch
    https://us.amazon.com/National-Foods-Butter-Chicken-Traditio…

Use half a pack of spice (comes with 2 packs so you get 4 batches) with about 750g of chicken, follow the rest fairly closely (except their recommendations on the amount of butter to use.. too much).

Gives you a pretty good result for low cost and low effort

these are so good. even at full price, i still think it's worth it.

  • Indian grocery stores ftw.. but I stocked up anyway, nice curries
