    SHTSAVE5

Even the seller knows 5% off isn't good lol

    • +24

Shopping Express spend more time gaming eBay discounts than processing RMA's

      • +11

and jacking up prices. This is their response after I called them out for price jacking. They increased the price from $855 to $955 literally after I sent them an enquiry about an item (must have forgotten to raise the price on this item until I messaged them):

this one has 15% off currently ( 17% off with ebay plus)
the discount is not free we need to pay for it, hence we can not sell at the normal price.
checkout with discount is cheaper then anyone else.

        cheers

        • +8

Damnit why did you remind them, it's now $1,039.00

        • +8

This is the dumbest shit I’ve ever read. Straight-up scumbags.

          Translation:

We’re having a sale that we didn’t want to have so instead we raised the prices so it’s not a sale because we don’t want to have a sale and make less money because more money is more gooder

          • +7

@bopter12: It's honestly one of eBay's biggest failing points that they do not manage this aspect and do not call out sellers that do this.

            I wonder if it's report-able because technically it's false advertising (a 10% sale that is actually a 3% sale).

            • +4

@Lighter Fluid: yes this is 100% plainly illegal under ACL. I've sent countless cases to ACCC over the years, nothing. Civil laws only exist as far as one's bank coffers.

              • +1

@xrailgun: But potentially now they’ve admitted it in writing, be nice to get some action against companies like this.

              • +1

@xrailgun: It's still worth reporting these kinds of issues any time they come up. A long time ago I worked at the ACCC and they track complaint data over time. If there is a significant enough build-up in relation to one seller it will get prioritised for investigation.

        • thanks for informing them
else they would have loss a SHT load of money

        • +5

They actually admitted in writing to that? You should definitely send to the ACCC.

        • +1

As others mentioned, I hope you report them to the ACCC with a screenshot of this message. I know it can be edited/photoshopped, but it's a lot better than just pasting the text into ACCC's little box, which they can easily deny ever said.

I think Harris Technology is worse.
They pulled the same s**t on me after a simple request about switching the ebay code I used for the purchase.
They said 'Sure, no problem'… and put the price up so that it was immediately $70 MORE expensive after I applied the better discount code.
        F***wits…

  • +3

I think about upgrading but then I realise I'd need a new power supply etc - So might as well just wait for next build to upgrade.

    • +6

Really? The 4070 doesn’t have a high power draw.

      • +2

        It's shit though. $900 for a gimped 3080. I would've much rather the $1130 evga xc3 3080 back in nov 2020. 4070 is 192 bit bus (half the 3080)

        • I bought the $1100 3080 actually but all things being equal I’d prefer the 4070. Uses way less power and DLSS3 frame generation.

But I’m certainly not looking to upgrade at this point.

  • +6

Still about $150 from good price

    • +3

Now it's roughly $250 from a good price

      • +4

$380-440 from a good price, don’t let Jensen permanently move our perception of where the goalposts should be.

    • Only $150?

Even $400 less than this is probably higher than historical trend line for a x070, this long after launch.

  • +3

getting better! bring on the Ti for $1000 :)

  • 700! Just wishing 😅

  • These are getting to a much better price which is nice to see, I think at $750 they would be somewhat acceptable.

  • +3

I don't think this issue is material, but a fair chunk of people swear off the the ventus range for the 4070 because MSI have cut corners and built the models so there's no contact between the vrm chips and radiator. It has high comparable vram temperatures as a result, but they are within safe ranges and shouldn't cause an issue with standard usage.

    • +1

4070 are so power efficient that it doesn't really matter

  • +16

    Should have been MSRP: $750
    Ozb worthy: $650

  • How's the Diablo IV redemption turnaround so far?

    • Waited 14 days with no word, called MSI and they said the proof of sale ebay gives you is not enough they need a tax invoice.
I messaged shallothead and they sent through the tax invoice. When I called MSI again I was able to redeem the game.

If people are still waiting know that if you don't give a tax invoice the claim will not go through and you will NOT be notified of an error.

  • +1

Bring it down to $700 please.

  • +2

4070Ti at this price and I'll bite

  • +2

    only if its 4070ti …

the store has SHT on this deal

        • Are you using 'YIPPEE10' or 'PWESNS'?

'PWESNS' only gives $50 off, since the total falls under $1000 with 'SHTSAVE5'.

          • @RichardL: okay it had applied the second code automatically so I thought that was the final price..

yes you are right, the YIPPEE10 put in the better price..

            still quite expensive product..

what would be a proper price for this card if it was not inflated price?

  • Hi,
will this card come with Diablo IV - Queen of Blades?

  • Sub $850 with a good free game is when things start getting interesting

  • how low can you go
    how low can you go

    • It will go lower.

      • +2

I have been a bad boy, Santa, sorry. I have got myself a used 6800 off eBay, and will not be interested in GPU deals unless 4070 suddenly grows extra 6gb of RAM

        • +3

Someone’s taking one for the team. Santa will be good to you this year.

Everyone needs to boycott green until they learn their lesson.

  • I assume it’s 12GB from the model number but this says 16?

    Boost: 2505MHz, 16GB GDDR6X (21000MHz),

    • should be 12

  • I ordered from this ebay seller using both codes at AU $878.79 on 10 May and received 2 days after.

Turned out it was good deal??? :)

  • +16

Someone else can get the internet points, but it looks like if you have Amazon Prime, you can get this for $642.95 (via Amazon UK) for the next 12 hours or so
Link (probably need to be signed in to see the prime only price) https://www.amazon.com.au/MSI-GeForce-4070-Ventus-Graphics/d…

Edit: I've ordered one, confirmed the price went through as $642.95 (via 35% prime exclusive discount). Not exactly what I was after, but for the price couldn't go past it.

    • +2

Thank you kind Sir, I just placed an order, there was one left though so I might have missed out.
I intended to buy D4, so if this goes through that's $532 for a 4070. Happy with that.

      • No worries, ah yes what's the deal with the D4 promo, are we eligible with this card?

        • As far as I know, all 40 series cards are eligible.

          • @VenetianBlinds: Awesome, I didn't even factor that in. Gives me something to play while I wait for Starfield :-)

    • +2

Great find! I ordered one too

    • +2

Thanks so much for sharing man, fantastic find. Been looking for a 4080 at a decent price for ages but this deal is unbeatable. Just ordered one!

    • It's gone 👋🏽 think that was an error! Well done for the spot

    • can you update if you get sent the item for that price?

      • +2

Consider this the update: mine in in transit for $642.95, arriving mid next week

  • Damn I paid $1399 for my RTX4070TI

    • Don't stress mate, I paid that for a 3070 in 2021. Always happens.

  • You got one hell of steal. You can resell it next year for a RTX 5070 for no loss!

  • +1

    Mine just got cancelled

    • +3

Also just cancelled my 6 year long prime membership over it, would've thought a small indie company such as Amazon would honour it.

  • Mine arrived today, very happy. Currently having fun trying to redeem Diablo IV. Anyone have success?

    • Mine arrived today also, just saw footage of someone coming into driveway and stealing the parcel….

  • PSA: MSI Registration requires a CHK number which is at the back of your graphics card. No where else in the box there is a mention of this CHK thats required to register your card and redeem the game. Such a pain, I now have to disassemble my PC to access that number. So please take a photo of the serial number on the card before installation.
