But my maxed out credit card says bro, have you considered Pagani design panda

is your credit card's name G-rig by any chance?

    • Wonder how much Deepak's profit is when he sells these on full price.

      • +2

I wonder if anyone has ever bought at full price…

    • +2

Just cut up your credit cards so he doesn't get any of your money.

      Technical term is Deepak Chopra.

Hmmmm - how angry do I make my wife? Haha. She's been complaining as I just bought another watch recently and now have 7.

I added this to my want collection recently. Extremely tempting.

      wife

      chronograph/tachymeter

Imagine you're sittting in the passenger seat of a car. Your crazy ex wife has kidnapped you in the morning and keeps saying you'll "go to disneyland" together. You see a road sign pass by. Gas station, 3 miles. Then there's a second one coming up: gas station, 2 miles.

Forgetting that this is why she left you, you sneakily start the chronograph on your Seiko Speedtimer SSC813P just as you pass the sign.

And wouldn't you know it, there's the sign again. Gas station, 1 mile. You stop the chrono right as you pass it and check the reading. 120. She's driving 120 mph. Jesus Christ. You realize, if you had a bird's eye view of the situation, you could have done the same thing between two points of known distance. That is why chronographs were popular at racing tracks, measuring the speeds of passing cars. You could even do it in metric, if you picked two points a km apart instead.

Excitedly, you turn to your ex wife, trying to explain what you just did. She just stares at you with an empty gaze, lips quivering. "Hey, uh, honey. Eyes in the road!" "Why… why are you like this?"

The crash is over in seconds. When you come to, you're in an ambulance. They tell you to stay calm, you were amazingly lucky. Just a concussion and a few broken ribs. Through a haze of painkillers, you see street lamps passing in the small, high windows of the car. How many of those are in a mile again? Smiling, you start the chrono.

      • Miles :)

      • How is 120 on the chrono equal to 120 mph?

        • chronograph/tachymeter

The chrono in the story also has a tachymeter.

      • +1

        That was.. beautiful.
        I'm pre-ordering the hardback.

      • This is amazing. I hope you're a writer.

  • +1

    Again? LOL

    • Yeah same price as last time too.
Funny how people are blown away by Seiko. Fairly good looking watch this one though, not an original style obviously. Solar quartz is the go with Seiko.

At least this one has sapphire crystal for $1050. Half price of RRP sounds good though and all you should pay.

It’s a shame that it looks like Daytona panda

  • +1

It is quite small to what I would expect. Do go to jewelry store to try on but other than that, its a sexy watch

    • That's why they publish the dimensions.

    • Its like a watch ….only smaller :p (…..waits for negs from the wrist challenged)

      Id definitely buy at 43-45mm

    • +1

39-40mm is pretty typical/good size and wears a lot better than big 43mm dive Watches on everyone unless you have Arnie wrists. Suggest try on at least.

Or just get the Pagani Daytona for $110- excellent finish and looks like a lot more expensive watch.

      • I have a Sumo ad it fits perfectly… anything under 43 mm is too small….. for me

        • That's fair and what I thought. You should get an Arnie

    • For me, the trouble seems to be case thickness and not the width. Recent shirt fashions appear to be trending towards tight cuffs again, and I always find a thicker watch gets caught. My solution is to always have one sleeve unbuttoned and the cuff folded back.

      • 10-12mm usually considered fine or average,
Shirts with two cuff buttons usually cover it, or maybe get a dress watch / no watch. Even in winter my sleeves are Rolled up (below the elbow of course).

    What sale?

  • -5

I'll bite once it hits sub 400

  • so…. another one for my other wrist?

  • How is this better than the coutura series? Or am I just a chav?

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to wear this, but I'm pretty sure that the Coutura has more features, looks sleeker, and costs less.

    • +20

Three certainties in life - death, taxes, and a comment on the Coutura series by BargainHunterJohnnyB on panda deals.

    • +3

You should get both so you can seamlessly integrate with both end of society.

    • +1

A $35 Casio had more features than the coutura.
Coutura is a very specific style, if you can get over it then it offers decent value for that style

  • Sexy watch

  • Just a general question here but is the SSC911P the "newer" model?

    • +3

Yeah it's a newer release. Wider bezel and changes to dial/handset are the main differences I think. FWIW I prefer the look of the older model, and it's a bit more unusual in being a sub-40mm chrono suited for smaller wrists.

  • +1

I am not sure what should I care more - my wrist or my wallet. Thanks OP - had missed this deal previously.

  • +1

Got it last time from Starbuy. It looks as good in person as it does in the picture.

Waiting for a nice sale on the black version -

      same. DEEPAK ^

  • If this one is just too cheap for you, feast your eyes on the new Grand Seiko Tentagraph chrono.

One day, it will be mine.

    • Will have to look it up
I'm still keen on a Hamilton intramatic American classic

  • Out of stock, just purchased from WatchDepot which had it for 595, although I would have preferred to buy from Starbuy and pick up in person.

    • +1

They have 20$ off for first time buyer (email and phone number signup) and free delivery too.

      • +1

Yep forgot to mention that too. Thanks for the shoutout in your post haha

  • It feels small. I am looking to return. Does anyone else feels its too small?

    • +1

Well it is 39mm which is mentioned in the description on here and on the Starbuy website.

      • seeing the numbers and see it on your wrist can sometimes tell a different story

    • Perfect size
