    Not bard..

But still not as good as the $81 X Raise 2.. 😪

    • After comparing the looks of both, I guess this one doesn't seem too bad, grabbed myself a pair, thanks!

  • Got these for an upcoming hiking/backpacking trip. Thanks OP :)

  • Fantastic shoes

    • +1

How much FPS are you running with?

      • +3

        One foot per second.

I've actually used these shoes in heaps of places and they're still going strong. Hiking and nature walks in New Zealand, Hawaii, Vietnam and I like them also for just walking around snow villages.

Used them in hot summer conditions as well as snow and they were great at all times.

Definitely do not use these in an urban environment on concrete or footpaths - you will ruin the sole/grip and these will actually have less grip than a normal shoe on pavement.

  • I walk in these. Far better than the Nikes/adidas for the usual walker

  • +1

Used to be my go-to from wiggle at a similar price, however find they now run narrow. Recommended for a standard 🦶.

    • Yes, definitely a narrow fit. After wearing work boots all week, these are a tight fit. Recommend sizing one up at least

      • Wish I read your recommendation to size up… they're smaller than ASIC, Nike, and every other shoe I have in the same size. Now I also need to pay return shipping and they're sold out.

        Loss = ~$45.

3d gtx is this a GPU deal?

Only gamers will get this joke 🤣

  • Details and Reviews are Blank …. emmm

Would you recommend these or the non goretex version for hiking on a trail that may have a few days of rain here and there but is mostly dry?
Appreciate the goretex improves waterproofing at the expense of breathability and both version are currently on sale.

    • I prefer non-GTX, the situations to use GTX is narrow. Gotta remember that keeping water out means keeping water in., any splashes that get in the shoes will take longer to dry.

      • Great, will go for the non GTX version. Cheers

    • +2

GTX is far better on cold damp winter days

In warm weather GTX is still good but hot days less good

I’d choose GTX at this price for sure

    • Well that depends… if it's wet, definitely GTX. If it's dry, definitely non GTX. You cant have both.

Personally, I prefer having GTX becuase I know if it rains my feet will be no more damp than if it was dry. But at the same time, if I did not have GTX my feet would be wet… and wet for as long as the shoe takes to dry… which could be days.

GTX has saved me from so many bad situations that I can tolerate the lack of beathability on dry days.

    • I’ve got both and used both in opposite conditions for what they were meant for (ie goretex in heat and non-GTX in rain). Both faired okay.

Given one pair I’d get the GTX versions, far more versatile and it’s the one I’d take more regularly when weather is unpredictable

  • Anyone have any experience with the 14 day despatch? Keen to pull the trigger but will be moving within the next 14 days.

    • +1

Send them to a parcel locker

  • +3

I’ve bought 3 of them, still have an old one. Very good but gave 2 problems:
    - heavy (I use them mostly to walk in the city when it’s raining)
    - the quick lace system, even though practical, cuts the shoes, that’s ridiculous.

    • +3

can you elaborate on the cutting part?

      • +3

I've got a similar pair. It's not a traditional shoelace. It's a thin metal wire essentially that you pull taut and a plastic bit that you use to tighten/hold in place. I guess this can cut into the lace holes.

        • Would that be the equivalent of having cable ties as shoelaces? Because I've done that before and it just bruised the top of my feet.

          • +1

@Some Human: I'm going to say no. It's easy to undo and I haven't had issues with it cutting. Often you don't need to fully tighten them and you can hold the shoelace in such a way that it doesn't pull on the holes.

      • Have a look at this photo. https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/342684/103894/img_2013…
Can get much worse than that. But no risk of cutting your feet

        • jeez that's worse than i imagined, i'll be sure not to tighten them too much

  • I'm on my 5th pair of Speedcross 3/4 over the last 6 years or so.

Comfortable, wear quickly on hard durfaces even casual use.

    Always pay Round $80

They are not designed for street use. I was breaking in a pair for a few months before a trip to Nepal, and by the time I got there the lugs were mostly gone causing plenty of slippage.

      You legend

      thank you kindly

      Champion!

  • +1

Are these good for casual office wear? (rain proof / cold proof/ non slip on wet cbd tiles etc )

    • +2

I used to wear these as my main shoe while teaching. After school I'd then go for a run. Personally I think they're a great shoe even if you're not using them just for hiking.

    • +3

These have poor grip on pavement in wet - they're designed for trails

    • +1

I think they are too heavy for that. I’m looking to replace them with a much lighter gtx pair.

  • +1

Real narrow fit . I am female and wear wide men's, snug fit.

    • +1

finally, someone talked about the narrow fit which is a common issue with Saloman shoes.

    • Thanks! Bought a backup pair

    • Damn where were you a few hours ago

  • Thanks OP.

    Ordered a pair.

Wasn't too sure on sizing, but seems like it fits true to size. I hope!

  • +2

my normal size is 8.5. i have a pair of size 9 fits well.

  • Thanks OP. Needed to replace my GTX versions of these for years and I haven’t seen them this cheap (and available) in quite a while.

  • Only size 9 UK available

  • +1

Thanks but I was too slow for this deal, most sizes sold out now. Hoping they re-stock.

  • +1

These could be a decent alternative for the price, don't forget the $10 off coupon.

    • Looks great!

    • This should have its own post now other is expired

      • I thought about it but size availability was already half gone so thought a comment in here might be enough to give people a chance to grab them.

  • I have some Salomon's I bought during a trip to Greece, they have lasted 15 years of intermittent hiking use since that trip where I wore them out of the shop. Quality!

  • Order cancelled by them mentioning stock issues.

  • 10.5 UK in stock if anyone needs that size

  • +1

Received mine today. Fit is just as good as my original pair and the black colorway looks good

    • Hi atlas, did you size up? Is going up 0.5 recommended? ta

      • +1

Yes I would say so. My original and new pairs are UK10, and I normally wear UK9.5

  • they have made this shoes so narrow
It is awefully uncomfortable compared to previous design

  • 1 pair of 10uk back in stock.

  • Loads of sizes back in stock

  • Really pissed off with Salomon. Ordered this from them and the order got cancelled, the system claimed suspected fraud. Tried Paypal, same result. Tried two more cards, same. Never have this problem with other shops. What pisses me off is they have tied up $500 of my money until the holds expire.
