Typical 2 dollar shop junk and rubbish. You can get the same crap by visiting your local Go-Lo store.

  • +10

4 items for NSW is $19.75. So they are around $5 each.

  • +12

How is this a bargain when shipping is that expensive?

  • +22

$17.70 for 3 items shipping to Surfers Paradise for me. No deal. And the fact that you have to sign in or register just to see the hidden shipping charges. Deceptive marketing. No deal.

    • +5

"And the fact that you have to sign in or register just to see the hidden shipping charges."

That's just wrong sorry. You can see the shipping from the link on each items page without being signed in.

I stand corrected, but i'm sure you'll agree, it isn't clear and 11+ voters obviously agree with me. Having looked through the items a little further, there may be a few half decent deals. But I still disagree with the way they go about these kind of 'free' deals.

Their marketing is an insult to the intelligence of the folk that frequent their site.

        • Totally agree mate!

        • 12 plus now

        • I'm with you…

        • -1

I certainly agree that I don't like their method. Clearly setting a minimum number of items and also disabling the normal combined shipping arrangement means that the items are not really free at all.

"…..clear and 11+ voters obviously agree with me."

Don't put too much weight on the votes here, although I only offered a fact (which you kindly agree with now), two knobs still negged me :-)

The only good deals from COTD come from QQQ. This one is deceptive marketing

    • +2

      you beat me to it

  • +10

Usually only worth buying from COTD when the deal has been posted by their Rep QQQ

    • That's the real catch!

  • +2

    ……………………………………….. not a bargain

  • +3

…and here comes their website crashing down….

  • Hi,get up,QQQ.

  • +2

    Huge range of crap.

    • with some decent finds :)

  • nothing is ftee in life

    • +4

TRUE! Nothing is ftee in life

  • +2

i grabbed the tshirts, tablet stand and cake pops tray, $13.90, i thought it was fair

    • Tshirt $2. tablet stand $2..cake pops $3.50. shipping $6.40. yes that was fair this way however you not getting items for free for sure.(o).just joking mate.please enjoy your freebies.hahaha

  • -3

No deal - minimum of 3 items to complete your order and delivery charge for item which is unclear.

    • +3

totally clear…..each item has a shipping charge clearly mentioned

  • -1

there are definitely some good deals to be had.

    • exactly, everyone was only looking at the items at the top. The ones near the end are definitely a bargain

      • Can you please provide some examples (at least 3 as there is a minimum of 3 different items needed to order) along with the postage for each item to say Victoria (as that should be the lowest).

$6 for a transformers fleece blanket ?! I think that very good for licensed product and a Ben 10 small floor rug for $6 is good for child room if most stuff in room is Ben 10 and on store this rug is around $30. Also there is a kids Philips headphones $5 good value (better than no brand reject shop headphones) a messenger laptop bag/business bag for $6 come on people open ur eyes n stop dismissing everything before trying, just because you don't need it doesn't mean there are no bargains :)- Quote from Alienzzz

          Also PS3 street fighter gamepad

          Component cables

          iPhone game controller

          Photo album

        • Good to know that someone found 3 items and not just saying there are good value items (near the bottom without specifying any).

  • I bought 4 of the randomly selected T-shirts the other day and they were all blue :o

When it said randomly selected, I hoped I'd get shirts that were different colours, not different shades.

On the plus side, they seem to be really good quality.

  • Sale should be called: "Huge range of items that are incredible frustrating to find the actual price of!"

    • How? It is $0 + the shipping which can be displayed from the link on each item's page.

      • +1

Yes, because having to click through 2 links for each item isn't frustrating at all!

        </sarcasm>

  • Is the TV mounting kit is a good deal? Have anybody used this?
    http://www.catchoftheday.com.au/smallfish_info.php?products_…

    • it looks nice and pretty but have you thought about where the cables go?

  • +1

While one's junk is another's treasure, personally for me this looks like ScavengeOfTheDay

  • Think of it this way that most items are cheaper or same prices elsewhere but they are delivered to your door. So the only bargain you get is shop at home and get them delivered to you.

    • I agree, if you are really after a specific product, this will save you some money.

  • +2

I pickedup some cheap came to $5 ea , cheaper than ebay

    • +3

same as, I dont like COTD, but have to admit some bargains in this sale, eg 25 quantum tablets for $6, so I dont need to buy 320 at once to get 25c per tablet.

      • I bought 3 packs of those, just to try. 25 cents seems pretty good.

  • +2

Yeah, not all bad. Pizza stone for $5 ain't bad, costs $20 elsewhere.

  • +6

If you live in Melbourne, and you purchase 1 of every item available, postage comes to $1025.50. I thought someone might have been interested.

  • Yep delivery is shocking!!!!

  • +1

When was the last time Catch had something decent??? annnndd when was the last time they kept all of their customers happy by not providing misleading or false information in their description??

  • your kidding aren't you !

  • This kind of deal happened last year
But wont deal with this bargain again
A bit expensivr if you bought a lot of items

  • +1

Same as always; people are quite happy to jump on the neg bandwagon without giving it a second thought. This deal really isn't as bad as bad as some are saying. It's not great, but it's not bad.

  • "Everything's Free!" lie! should be "Everything includes shipping!"

  • $6 for a transformers fleece blanket ?! marketing gimmick. "free" junk with overpriced shipping

    • +1

Agree…No bargains here for me - a few books and kids items - Delivery $41.40 to S.A.

    • +2

It might be junk but the shipping is certainly not overpriced. Unless you know a way to send a 16" laptop bag for $3.95.

    • You've never bought from Shopping Square before, have you?

  • +1

The transformers fleece blanket (one of the 5 things I purchased today from the so called "junk" has already sold out :) got in just in time, lucky for my son because 3/5 items are for him!!

  • +2

This kind of marketing should be illegal. They force you to buy 3 items and pay the shipping on each individually, but guaranteed the items will all come in the same delivery at a fraction of the total shipping cost. Luring customers in with a "free" item offer and then making the cost up elsewhere once you have them hooked goes against the whole concept of consumer protection regulations even if it is not technically against the law.

    • doubt it is, its a postage and handling charge, so they can declare the handling charge what ever they like, thats why we call these companies 'scum'!!

  • Any free shipping code? LOL

    • yes.. DONTBUYFROMCOTD .. it would be free :-)

  • dont even bother, the shipping is like 100 x the price it usually is.. catch of the day is scum..

    • +2

What are you talking about? These are normal shipping prices, just without the usual shipping cap. So by far not '100x the price it usually is'. Also, its funny, Hilal, rep for 'no1supplements.com.au' - whose deals are constantly negged, is talking about a 'scum' company.

  • +1

Have to agree with all the negative posts about shipping.

Even OzStock give 50% off postage for additional free stuff.
