  • Seems like a good deal

  • +3

So this would be 60,000 Velocity points.

    • +1

      or $500 cash back

      • True but I care more about Velocity Points aye

  • +6

if it's targeted and you didn't receive the email, you won't be eligible for the 120,000 points. I found out the hard way…

    • dont tell me your spend $3,000 and didnt get the point???

  • +3

Existing offer that’s been up for a while at https://www.rwrds.com.au/credit-cards/hsbc-platinum-credit-c…

    • Offer by Invitation Only?

      • +2

“ Available only to existing HSBC customers who are approved after applying through the 'Get started' button below”

I think just become a customer and you’ll be right

  • Ony Cast 4 and 5 can apply.
    Peasants excluded?

Turns out it dates back to this:

  • Is there another way to verify if you qualify for the 120k points if you didn't get the email but you are an existing HSBC customer?

    • +2

The terms in the link itself don’t say anything about needing to have received the email.

Maybe if you print the terms you would have plenty of ammunition to seek the points if they aren’t automatically credited. I don’t think they could say that the offer has an additional requirement than what is included in the offer terms and conditions.

Couldn’t comment on the old thread because it has been marked as expired. This isn’t targeted, if you open a fee HSBC account you can sign up for this deal using the above ‘go to deal’ link. (Assuming you haven’t done it within 12 months etc as per T&Cs)

    28/03/2023 - Card approved
06/04/2023 - spent $3010 on discounted woolies gift cards through NRMA blue
30/05/2023 - 120k bonus points credited to my account today.

  • Got the offer in January to my email but didn't take it then as I had cancelled a HSBC card within the 12 months prior, and now those links were expired.

Applied via OP's link, now to see if they honour it lol.

    • +1

Update: And literally 1.5 days after applying with OP's link I get my own email offer too, lol, lmao even.

  • I've got the old email with now expired link. I still have a HSBC savings account which is dormant.

Should I call HSBC to confirm validity or can I click throuhg the URL attached on the deal now?

The commentor above doesn't accept direct messages to ask.

  • Does Balance Transfers count towards $3000 spend?

    • No

Never got a targeted email but was an existing HSBC customer. I applied through the link.

Approved 27 May, Spend met by 1 June.

Received the 120,000 points today, timing was not linked with my statement date.

    • Thanks, I am going to apply too. Their customer service also confirmed that this deal is applicable for all existing HSBC customers.

      • Did you contact them via live chat or phone? I just opened an everyday global account over the phone and asked about any credit card promos, the representative directed me to view their website and made no mention of any deals outside their wesbite.

        • I called them.

        • Did you contact them via live chat or phone? I just opened an everyday global account over the phone

When I try to sign up online after is check they want a photo of me and then get a error, so I tried to go in branch and there was a over 1hr wait at 2 branches

Did you still have to go in branch for id check?

          • @tess1988: I think you're at the mercy of the branch now. The device facial-recognition-check work for me.

But it has failed in the past, and I had to visit the branch for identity verification.

  • Airport lounge passes every year

How do I get this? Thx

    • Have you signup for LoungeKey with your CC ?

      • Not yet. So just need to sign up normally with HSBC card? No special link or anything?

        • Yes, just go to the LK and setup account with your cc. It should tell you how many complimentary lounge access you get. After that, they'll charge your cc each entry.

  • excludes Gov fees and charges, does that includes council rates?

  • Does this card earn any reward points while spending? Or purely just the sign-up bonus.

    • Earn 2 Rewards Plus points for every dollar spent on eligible international purchases and 1 Reward Plus point for all other eligible purchases

  • +2

    My dates for anyone curious..

Can also do $500 cashback on the card. Same conversion as giftcards.

  • Has anyone been able to churn this card more than once now?

    • Just finished churning it for the second time this month.

      • Thank you for the confirmation, did you get the points for the 2nd time? Also when you applied the 2nd time, did you just use the link above?

previously i churned with the invite via email for the credit card

        • +1

Done and dust for 2nd time 6 months ago. Got the points on the 3rd statement.

        • +1

Cancelled the card after receiving the bonus points, and used the link above despite not receiving the email invite.

          • @76F: thank you for the response, appreciate you

  • this deal is gone

  • anyone know how to transfer your points to velocity? Website is shocking and telephone customer service worse.

Website is broken. When I click the redeem rewards tab on the rewards website it send me back to the page before. Not great, currently no way to redeem the points.. and their outsource customer service team in the Philippines have no clue …

    • +1

I did it on the app.

      • How? Its the same issue on the app for me. If i go to rewards and offers. Under select a rewards category I select travel, then 100k+points then thats it, there is no option to select any airline program or anything at that point..

        • +1

I've closed my card now, but check the other points categories smaller than 100k. I remember redeeming multiples of 5k or something.

        • +1

Don't select 100k+ points, just select "All"
You can only redeem Velocity points in 2.5k and 5k batches.

          • @wangasm: Thanks, that works. Probably the worst ever points redemption and customer service ive had to deal with.. besides Qantas of course
