    GA00516-AU

I think that might be first gen.

  • +1

These must be very old stock as the First Gen Google Nest Hub was originally called Google Home Hub.

    • better to ask the seller.

the odds that there is still first gen models is very low.

      • +5

The SKU and Model Number also confirms that it's the First Gen Google Nest Hub.

        • -1

          I know what it said.
          I google it already..

they could have left the info unchanged / typo / copy and paste job from previous listings

          just look at the odds
that any seller would likely still have 1st gen in stock is low
that is why I said better check with the seller

          • @pinkybrain: This is their listing for the 2nd Gen (Chalk & Charcoal) - both currently out of stock.

            • +3

              @RichardL: yeah interesting..

              still like I said
              just message them to confirm..

              Second generation
On March 30, 2021, a second generation of the Google Nest Hub was released. The second generation sported 50% more bass and a sleep sensor. The Nest Hub kept its 7-inch touchscreen.

It has been 2+ years now.. since 2nd gen released.

Just looking at the odds that they still kept 1st gen stock since 2021
and decide to do a sale now..

    Just a warning to anyone..

the new Fuchsia OS has made the device worst.
    -bugs
-feels even more slower / lag than before which was already slow

    • Dont think anyone can block the software from updating.

      • +2

The box should do a pretty good job if it remains inside

      • yeah it is unblockable update.

Google in their wisdom has forced the nest hubs onto this new Fuchsia OS
        which replaced the previous OS.
This new OS is buggy and made the device even more laggy than before.

        • At this point I'm starting to think that Google is hopeless not just with hardware anymore

  • +1

nest hubs have so much potential but are so let down by slowness/bugs. one really cool use case has been using them to monitor baby via cuboai, super promising but very buggy in practise.

Also these were prone to being stuck in boot loop. You are lucky if under warranty and unlucky if out. Mine got stuck in a boot loop at 13months old and no way to fix it.

  • Thanks guys!
I have just asked this question to the seller, as otherwise I will cancel my order. Didn’t realise that it could be the old model.

    • +1

Thanks, can you please provide an update once you get a response from them.

      • +3

I messaged the seller and they confirmed 1st gen:

        “Hi,

        Hope that you're doing well.

Thank you for your interest in Google Home Hub Smart Display & Home Assistant - [Au Stock]. This device is First Gen.

Do not hesitate to reach out if you need any further assistance.

        Kind regards

        • Bummer!
No point in waiting for their response now, it will be the same. I will cancel/return my order.

        • Thanks, yeah I got the same message as well and have asked them to cancel my order.

        • wow can't believe they still got 1st gen and trying to offload this as a deal and at this price

  • +1

For 1st gen I would want the price to be less then this

  • has anyone else noticed the google nest hub now days are so buggy and cannot hear clearly ?

    • +2

I have one in the kitchen and it's become very inconsistent. Sometimes standing right in front of it I need to repeat myself multiple times at various volumes to get it to acknowledge or understand, then other times I can be in another room talking softly to one of the mini's and then the kitchen hub intercepts and hears what I've said perfectly. Can't win lol.

      • +1

yes exactly the same thing happens to me

    • +1

      as I said above,

it is more buggy due o fuchsia OS update that replaced the previous OS.
They forced the devices to update to it.

Check the device firmware to confirm.

      Swipe up
then click Settings > Device information > Technical information

  • And the same hearing my commands issue with my hub as well, very frustrating! I have the 1st gen hub.

  • +1

Definitely too much for a gen 1 :(

  • +1

    This is old AF
