‘The cashback offers are only valid for purchases of $30’?

    • +1

      $30, $40, $200, $300 SIMs

    • +1

      "purchases of $30, $40, $200, and $300 SIMS."

The $40 SIM is on sale for $15.

    • +2

$30, $40… sims*. You would be buying a $40 sim which is on sale for $15 at the moment. I would assume it works but can anyone confirm?

      • I can confirm that I assume it works

      • Have you tried? Even you redeemed more than 5 last time?

      • -2

They don't know what you buy, only know that you paid $15

      • +1

Based on the ambiguous wording it would be safest to assume that this will not work. The thingy specifically alludes to purchases of '$30, $40, $200, and $300 SIMS'. I get the fact that you are technically buying what the seller is calling a '$40 SIM', but regardless, a purchase of $15 is unlikely to qualify given that wording and the inherent nature of 'cash back' operations.

Over the years I've been burned a few times chasing freebies or 'profits' on OzB (lost both money and time), which defeats the whole purpose. At some point a few years back I resolved to only partake in such shenanigans if the T&Cs were unambiguous or there were multiple reports that the 'deal' actually worked/was being honoured.

        • I get the fact that you are technically buying what the seller is calling a '$40 SIM', but regardless, a purchase of $15 is unlikely to qualify given that wording

Nah, you're wrong; works with CR every time. "$40 sim" is the name of the product, not the paid amount. The "$40" is nominal.

          • @wisdomtooth: I realise it works with CashRewards, and I do avail myself of those BOOST deals sometimes because it they are well known to work. I am suggesting that it would be wise not to automatically assume that it will work with this ZIP mob, and spend up big in anticipation of profit; particularly if you don't actually really need the product. It would be wiser to just wait for the next trusty CW 'profit' BOOST deal.

  • In saying that, I've bought but reward is still not shown yet.

    • +2

Are you in the $1000 club?

  • Zip rewardss is absolutely lame. They don't allow to withdraw that amount until that cumulative amount is reached. Would rather use SB or CR.

    • +1

Now that someone cut the cheese, the real question is who’s next to let one rip?

    • +3

Also my reward expired as it has been more than a year. Had like 14 dollars there

  • +2

    Don't think this works.

    • +3

Don't think or you know it doesn't work? Not really a valid neg based on your above comment tbh

      • I know

  • What if one buys the $30 SIM with promo code BOOST9 for $9 would they still get $19 cashback? Can some one try and report back?

  • So does it work or not?

    • Don’t you have enough Boost SIMs already?! If not, then please accept my apology in retrospect

  • +1

is it menat to show up instantly in cashback balance? first time doing it just now but have nothing showing. $15 ($40) sim

    • Yes — totally menat

    • It hasn't shown up on mine either, but my activity says the purchase is still "pending," so maybe once it's confirmed, the cashback is credited?

  • So if it doesnt work on the discounted $30 sim purchase for $9 does it work instantly for the 55gb sim?

  • Seems like the 5x redeemable is for the lifetime. Damn

    • +1

You only live twice. Unless you’re a cat, or an OzBargainer with multiple accounts

    • +3

Ya they fixed it, after the post of the explot on OZB, if it wasnt posted or kept on the low, then they wouldnt have known.

  • Brought the $40 sim pack still no cashback. Has anyone received their cash back yet? It used to be instant

    • They now probably have to approve the cashback manually for Boost transactions.

    • It hasn't shown up on mine either, but my activity says the purchase is still "pending," so maybe once it's confirmed, the cashback is credited?

      • Pending means they haven't taken then money out yet. Like a purchase auth on a cc

        • Today, 3 days later, they did. No sign of cashback yet. Hold on to your neg; I'll let you when you can revoke it 😉

      • You won't get the caskback if you have purchased more than 5 already.

  • Tried the discounted $40 sim last Saturday. Didn’t get cashback.

    • Is the purchase confirmed in your Activity tab?

      • Zip’s cashback is always instant. I guess they still set the minimum spending at $30.

Maybe you can wait. I just cancelled my order.

        • +2

          Cancelled order how??

As far as i know boost customer service is bunch of liars who never cancel while making false statements that they cancelled order, then promise customer refund on sending them sim back, then NEVER REFUNDED ONCE TAKING THEIR SIM BACK

          Happened twice so far

          • @USER DC: Just received an email confirmation about the refund from Telstra. I’ll see if I receive the refund in 48 hours.

        • I guess they still set the minimum spending at $30.

Is that in the T&C? If not, I'm sure OFT would loooove to kick them around a bit 😃

          • +1

@wisdomtooth: I just don’t want to deal with their customer support. Takes ages to reply.

            • +1

@me1stt: I cancelled from boost online chat (response quick), don't want to risk though still need to wait 3-5days.

              • +1

@test8888: My boost representative wouldn't cancel my boost order.

                • +1

@NeoX: Yea they wont, they can pretend to say that they cancelled order but they never will,

They will even go as far as saying they never said you that order cancellation was confirmed ( i got screenshot of that Darnel person saying me that) but boost agents deny that i ever chatted with that agent (even with screenshot proof, of him saying "order cancellation has now been confirmed this afternoon", and even told the time, date i chatted with him too). Yet they somehow shipped the same that same night, after a fake cancellation.

Anyway moral of this is don't buy boost sim if you are not willing to take risk of cashback failure or are at least willing to do a credit card charge back for it (after returning sim and waiting 1 month for them to not refund after returning sim with proof).
Zip is not so good with charge back IMO, I'd go with revolut for these sims for payment where possible.

And talking to zip cs about cashback is probably a better chance of getting something out of it then talking to lying boost reps

                  • @USER DC: You need to save the chat transcript

                    • @Tiggrrrrr: Cannot save chat transcript on their website best we can do it collect 20 + screenshots of tiny chat windows.

                      • @USER DC: Select all.
                        CTRL-C
                        CTRL-V into word (or similar)

Then you have a date and time-stamp
Since they record their chat transcript, you can then refer them to the datem, time and person that you spoke to. Along with the exact wording used.

  • When I load my app the CB is only $10?

  • +2

So I bought 5 in a single transaction but it only tracked $19. I called Zip support and the person who answered said it should be fine once the pending transaction is verified, and that I can give them another call if it still doesn't track properly by then.

  • It needs to be $30 minimum spend, that will trigger the instant cashback. You can try it if you want. You could also try to argue with them if it doesn't give cashback as wording says $30 SIM, but good luck doing that for multiple purchases

  • +1

lol I woke up to a whole stack of green and white envelops in my mailbox last week. Was a fun run.

For anyone requesting zip referral, note that your phone number is required to generate the link as it is bind to the number.

  • I'm only seeing $10 too. What is the $1000 club?

  • Through Zippay app, click shop. Search boost. It’s only $10 cashback. Not $19.

  • +1

BTW for those who dont know zip reward redemption also lowers your minimum payment limit (aka it reduces the amount your need to pay for getting $0 monthly fee),

So e.g. if you had pending balance of $800 due at end of month for $0 monthly fee,

And you reedem $100 in rewards you only need to pay $700 at end of month (not $800). Workout a lot useful especially when you have had been using it for a while aka e.g. you limit of 1500, and you got 200$ available only and same scenario $800 due for $0 payment.

You effectively get an extended $0 monthly period for paying less.

  • +1

This has definitely been ozbargained. Lol

Firstly, this offer was embedded inside a Boost cashrewards offer.
It went underneath the radar for a few days. Then it was posted as a deal and the s**t hit the fan. Lol

Got 7 orders in before it was posted as a deal for 28 dollars profit. But the best thing about this is the no 30 day activation limit.

  • It now says cashback is $10 rather than $19

  • Well if you use boost9 code you can still get the $30 sim pack making a $1 profit assuming zip pay up?

    • You won't get cash back for it as total is not greater than $30

  • Expired?? Damn! I was holding back waiting for my 1st purchase to be confirmed and tracked, before unleashing the trigger finger.

  • Did any one from here order another boost sim using CR ?? and got this email ??

Sorry, we can’t proceed with your order.

  • surprised to receive $19 cashback! (after order cancelled and refunded)

    • new surprise! zip reversed rewards now my zip rewards in neg -
      are they monitoring here?

  • I got my $19 finally too without doing anything. Need to earn $1 somehow. How long do rewards last before expiry?
