Opened the first Standard Edition order processed email, clicked on View/Manage Order, clicked Cancel. Refund processed
Checked Paypal - Refund complete
Now to see if Microsoft honours it lol
gave it a go. worked fine. paid by CC so everything is all still processing but pre-downloading now.
I guess we wait until launch tomorrow morning to find out?

It will come down to the FTC decision in the US. I reckon Microsoft will work around the UK if it just means not giving them access to certain cloud capabilities / changes to gamepass games etc.
If US and EU approve (which EU has) I can't imagine that they'd throw in the towel if it's just the UK.

The steps are in the post, it's pretty straight forward
Buy the standard, wait 5-10 mins. Go back and check ultimate which will now show $44. Buy that then refund the standard. Simples (comparethemeerkat)
Did you read the post? Buy the standard for 109.95. wait a few minutes. Then you can buy the ultimate for 44. Then refund/cancel the standard edition.
pay 109.95 then buy the ultimate version. then get the refund of standard one
You have to pay for the standard edition, i.e. spend $109.95 first.
Then stay on that page for 5 mins, refresh the page, you will be able to see the $44 price of the ultimate edition.

This is the same price I paid for D3 on PC back in 2012 lol.
They'll just revoke the license, I've done something in the past and they revoked the licence and refunded.

Thanks buddy, just tried purchasing the std ed. at 2.30pm on Xbox and been refreshing the page through till 3pm but the ultimate ed. still shows as $154. Did you have to wait long for the upgrade offer to appear? Wondering if I should just cancel the std ed. as it is showing that I own it in my ms account.

I cancelled my 1st std ordrrz got a refund cause it wasn't working yesterday.

Currently working to address. First Microsoft support person said do it again and the discount didn't appear (which people in comments here noted). Now talking about it with someone else and they'll escalate, but not holding my breath but irked as I've just repaid more for a lesser product. I know I can't complain as it was just a pricing error but why refund some players and not others? I'm channeling my inner entitled customer.
Update. Tried a few times with Microsoft Support. No dice. They say the team is working on it to change access to players that got the deal but I don't but it. Ultimately I used the wrong form and they picked up on the error. Lucky those that got it though! But just irked that they're letting other purchases slide. Sad.

When you check your orders both the Standard and Ultimate editions are together and you just click on the "Cancel" button next to the Standard edition. There's no forms to fill out.

Tried to push the download from the app on phone. It happened to me yesterday. But managed to download by activated from the app
Update: I was able to push the download via the mobile app. Wouldn't start install from browser or the console itself
