  • This is frequently sub $280 I thought?
I got it for $260 in November

    And yes, definitely the T8520T11

    • +1

I guess you might be referring to the non-finger print one which I bought too. This one has finger print unlock feature too. Eufy model numbers are quite confusing.

      • Haven't seen it at $260 but $285, yeh

        • I got it for $265. Might have had a credit or something.

      • As I said, it's definitely the T8520T11 😂

      • +3

yep, eufy has ~5 tiers of smart lock more or less:
        Smart Lock
        Wifi Smart Lock
        Smart Lock Touch
        Smart Lock Touch with Wifi
Smart Lock + Video Doorbell (+ wifi)

Having been looking out since about the start of the year, best ever price for this model is $285 last november, RRP $499, usual price when on sale is $399, so including either price beat or coles mastercards discount at ~$305 it's a pretty decent deal (and the best price in the last 6 months or so).

It's a pretty big premium usually compared to the bluetooth-only model, but I think personally being able to operate it and add passcodes and such without needing to be at home is like half the point in having a smart lock, so…up to your preference :)

    • Yes we got ours for about $260ish

    "Hey Google. Unlock the door"

    • +1

For most of these locks and openers Google and Alexa will ask you for a PIN before unlocking.

    • +1

Hey Google unlock the doors and garage doors for smith street. And pin is 0000 or 1234

  • +5

Be quick to price beat @ Bunnings for 10% discount to bring it down to $305

    • Can we price beat online or phone call?

      • oof should’ve thought of that when I purchased earlier, alternatively combine shopback amazon 2% gift cards + coles mastercard for ~$309

      • at this hour you can capture the screen and send email to [email protected] and request for a price match (beat). But if they still haven't changed the price tomorrow morning it's better to call them for a quicker response.

        • can we then checkout online with that price, and get it delivered ? (i have the one pass thing, so should be free delivery)

          • @CyberMurning: don't think you can do the price beat by yourself. Just call them now, request price match and have them placed the order for you with free delivery.

    • Thanks, did the price beat at Bunnings for $305! Been hanging for this to go on sale since I missed last years sale.

  • Thanks OP

Be careful with these, the battery life is terrible. I'm lucky to get 2 months before needing to recharge.

    • +1

We enter/exit the house many times a day. Batteries still working after 12 months with no indication that they are low

      • I just charged mine for the first time, 6 months in

      • +1

Wonder what might be up with mine? I've had it replaced once under warranty for not reconnecting after recharging the battery, and they let me keep the original. This at least gave me a spare battery.

    • +2

battery is fine, I do have issue with its auto lock function it often can't detect if the door is at the closed position.

      • +1

Yeh I gave up recalibrating the lock every day but the 3 min default lock still comes in handy when the kids leave it open.

First charge was only about 3 months but second was 9, of course probably a lot less locking without door close sensor doing anything anymore.

  • +2

Battery life on mine lasted more than 12 months. I've recently changed the batteries only to see if that was the reason the fingerprint sensor has failed. Unfortunately it didn't resolve the issue. Fingerprint sensor is just dead (died after 8 months use).

  • Which one better in general? eufy or Reolink? I think both of them doesn't require subscriptions, right?

  • This is more of deadlock, right?

    • +1

      it is a deadbolt lock.

    • Yes, it will fit a standard deadlock

  • I wish Ring has the same lock and has facial recognition integrated between the camera and the lock. when face is detected, it will be unlocked… not too far away?

    • +1

maybe, but will you use it knowing anyone can easily take a photo of yourself, print it out and show it to the camera to unlock the door?

      • i think Apple has solved this problem with face recognition on iOS

        • I would trust Apple's implementation, but will you trust Apple to release a smart door lock?

          • +1

@OzComment: yes, i would but wouldnt buy it because it will be too expensive. everything with Apple logo is expensive.

    • +2

that must be the BT only but
thanks i was going to get but now, wait wait at least 260-280

    • +3

That was a different model (T8510T11). It's much the same, just missing Wifi.

Also on sale currently for $233 https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08K3CXPX1

      • I got the bluetooth model but want to replace with this model now, as its impossible to buy the wifi bridge anywhere for a decent price.

  • Bunnings have now updated their site to match the price. I sent a request via email for price beat late last night, and rang a store this morning who said they'd get back to me (they havent).

I'll be disappointed if they come back noting the updated price - easy way to get out of price beat, just dont respond (to the channel they tell you to go through) until had a chance to mactch prices!

    • Smart move by Bunnings. They just fobbed you off the phone, there is nothing to get back to you on, someone just had keep you on the phone, get your details and process the order. Hopefully they can still price beat at the time you enquired.

    • Shows as 454 for us

  • Hi guys is this item anywhere at this price range? I can’t get below $450 anywhere. I got a carpenter coming for a job this Friday and if I can get at a good price I’ll install this in our front door.

    • Crap out of Luck :(

      • :( any recommendations for something similar?

        • amazon Sales is tomorrow and the 12th, maybe save it to your list and watch it

          • @HappyJoyJoy: Yep mate been watching very closely. Are there any other smart wifi locks which I can watch out for?

  • +2

Bought Eufy door lock for $318 on prime day. Phew needed a smart lock for our new home
