  • Note that the silver version uses silver plastic not metal (same with the other colours) which doesn't look terribly nice imo.

  • +1

is that a milk container? what a pain cleaning after each use!

    • It is extremely difficult to clean this milk container although it has a button to clean it after you use it.

      • +2

I was told that you can put it in the dishwasher to clean it thoroughly?
Plus, why would you clean it each time?
You are meant to put milk in it and as soon as you are done with it, detach it from the main unit and put it in the fridge.

        • +1

Yeah it's made so you can detach it and store it in the fridge.

I only pour enough milk to make one cup each morning and give it a quick rinse, then a proper wash at the end of the week. It's really not that difficult.

        • It unplugs from the main unit. you just hold down a button to let the boiling water clean the milk out of the system beforehand. Then pull it out - put it in the fridge!

Yep I strip it down once the milk is empty - put in the dishwasher - no problems.
          Easy

I you want to have Different types of milk you can buy another one direct for about $45

    • I have often wondered about that… its not like you could store the milk there.. well perhaps UHT you could do a while, but who wants to use that stuff..

    • If you use it everyday, you pretty much never need to clean the milk container yourself.

So after making the coffee's you need, once you are finished, just hold on to the CLEAN button for 8 seconds or so. It steam cleans the milk container's pipes but leaves the milk left in the container. Then all you need to do it pull out the milk container (including the top black portion) and put it in the fridge. When you need it, just attach it back and off you go making more coffee.

I have not cleaned mine (as in dishwasher or manually pulling apart all the pipes etc) since the day I got it about 2 weeks ago. There simply is no need. That's one of the best part of this thing over the separate nespresso and frother bundle packages.

      • I am not sure if it only happens on my machine. when I press that CLEAN button, the water will not only go through the pipe but also a small amount water will go into the milk as well. I don't want my milk to be contaminated by this water so I barely fill my container full. I always use what I need and rinse it afterwards. Anyone has the same issue here?

        • Interesting. I will check this out tonight to see if that happens with mine.

        • Unless you are getting a lot of water, in which case it sounds defective, is a tiny bit really a problem? The coffee has water in it anyway, you'd need to be getting a fair amount into the milk for it to matter.

    • I use the clean function for the pipes and just take it apart and put it in the dishwasher once or twice a week - Too easy.

Far Far easier than trying to clean the Citiz which is a nightmare.

    • You don't. You clean it every now and again. If you put it straight back into the fridge and the milk was fresh to begin with, it'll keep.

Someone else said it is difficult to clean it. Our work has a model that is very similar (if not the same) and the container looks the same. It is extremely EASY to clean. Pull it apart ans just run hot water through it and/or leave it to soak for a bit. All the fiddly bits are easily pulled off and put straight back on.

After use the 'clean' button will do a good enough job of cleaning it up.

  • I ordered two units last night and it came to EUR 405.
A slight saving in shipping cost.

  • Apparently there is no warranty?

    • When I had a look at previous Amazon Nespresson offers, I couldn;t find any references to an International warranty for DeLonghi…I believe Krupps (they make the Citiz and Pixie versions) do offer a 1 year international warranty, but I could never find any references for DeLonghi.

If anyone can point me in the right direction then I'd be all over this :)

  • BTW, if you don't put in any capsules, you can easily make a hot chocolate by just putting hot chocolate powder in the cup and pressing the Latte button. It puts in enough milk and a bit of hot water for a nice hot chocolate. Yes, you need to stir but it's still super convenient. No need for refillable capsules. =)

    • Tried this last time but the water went into the capsule container.

I think preferred way would be to stop it before they activate the coffee maker.

      • Yeah. You can stop it when the milk part finishes. Then repeat it for more milk.

  • never knew I could put it in dishwasher… I will try it tonight. Thanks for the tip.

  • Awesome. I was looking at getting the same model from Appliances Online @ $519!! This couldn't have come at a better time~

  • So, how do I order? Do I need an Amazon Italy account?

    • you just need an amazon account. doesn't matter where from.

For some reason my account can't order these and ship to oz. sucks. I have done it before a while back.

  • +3

I had the Latttissima for several years previously and now have the Lattissima+.
Very happy with it and this is an amazing price. I paid almost double of this here in Perth. Ouch.

    • I might just have to give into the pod craze after all. Have you used those 'coffee duck' refillable pod things with your machine?

  • Got this a few weeks back and it's excellent! Great price and product.

  • Just ordered one. First time ordering in a different language ! Thank you Google Translate. All went smoothly. Bit concerned about the warranty, but what the hell, so cheap ! Cheap upgrade for my Nespresso Essenza, which will be sold. Thanks OP !!

Anybody know if you can get the current cash back deal buying international ?? Guessing not, but…… ???

    • -1

I had one of these automated ones, thought it would be an upgrade for my essenza but turns out it takes up a lot more bench space, is harder to clean and stuff drips everywhere when removing trays or just trying to refill the water reservoir. 2 days later I got rid of the latissima and went back to the good ol essenza. 1 shot sans capsule to pre-clean, 1 coffee shot and finally 1 shot sans capsule to clean. Simple, straight forward and nothing to clean. Put half a cup of milk into the microwave for 30 secs before making the coffee and you have a truly no mess nothing to clean, cup of coffee!

      • I think that's just you. I've read many user reviews and YouTube videos and not once did I hear someone say this machine makes a mess or is difficult to clean. Normally its mentioned as a pro, not a con

  • Ordered. And as mentioned above, thanks google translate. We have one of these in the office at work. Absolutely fantastic machine.

  • Do these come with sample capsules to try, if so how many?

    • yes…16

  • There is a 2 year international warranty on Nespresso machines. Once you have your machine, visit a Nespresso store to join the Nespresso Club. Give them the Serial Number of your machine and you have your machine fully covered by the warranty. I bought my Krups machine from Amazon.co.uk.

    • Well, thats great news.

    • You can also register the serial number online at nespresso club website after you login. I just did and it accepted my serial number of my Lattissima+ from Italy. So I hope that means I can get warranty on my machine.

      • Any firm answer on if there is warranty on these in australia? I bought it assuming warranty won't be honoured here so anything is a bonus but I was just curious.
It appears that Krups definitely do offer international warranty but haven't seen anything concrete around Delonghi units

  • Do these have a removable power cable like a 'figure 8' or 'kettle cable' that I can replace with an Australian one? Or do I need to buy an adaptor for the hardwired Italian plug?

    • Fairly sure it is hard wired and you'll need an adapter. No biggie.

  • -1

For the people wondering about warranty service in Australia:
I bought one of the Krups machines from Amazon Spain last year. The user manual lists 2yr warranty in Australia. I called Krups Australia service and they confirmed that the 2yr warranty would be honoured in Australia!

Give Krups a call and find out about the warranty for this machine. I wouldn't be surprised if the warranty is valid in Australia as well.

    • This machine is DeLonghi not Krups so not sure if calling Krups is a good idea?

      • -2

DeLonghi=Krups. My Krups Citiz is exactly the same as DeLonghi Citiz. Why isn't it a good idea? In the worst case they'll just say no.

        • According to the Wiki, Krups "competes" with DeLonghi.
          http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krups

Maybe they share the same machine hardware for Citiz.
But they do not for Lattissima and others it seems.
By all means, can call them but I expect then to say no.

        • +1

What makes you think Krups=Delonghi? They are not the same company and you would be making a fool out of yourself calling Krups about Delonghi branded coffee machine. It's like calling Panasonic about warranty on your Sony tv. All nespresso capsule-based machines are identical because they are proprietary design of Nespresso and manufacturers like Delonghi and Krups just put their branding on it. Doesn't mean you can call a completely different manufacturer

        • You could call Nespresso Club to confirm. They told me Nespresso machines are covered by a 2 year International machine. By this, my guess is it should be the same for Delonghi.

  • I just ordered one and got charged only $154.26 on my cc. Maybe they are going to charge the delivery fee later on.

    • interesting, which model did you order?

    • Check again after a day or two when the online CC statement updates to show the actual purchase. Does your order confirmation email show the correct EUR amount?

  • I ordered the white one, DeLonghi Lattissima+ EN520W.

  • Wow. Seems people who ordered from that computer shop in Germany 3 weeks ago (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/76107) still haven't received their MACHINES!

But from Amazon.it, 2 of my friends and I all got ours in exactly 3 business days from the date of order 2 weeks ago!.(ordered on Tuesday and arrived on Friday via UPS Express Courier) So if all goes well with those who ordered from this Amazon deal, you probably will get it before those who ordered from that deal 3 weeks ago.

    • my mistake, this comment can be deleted.

    • Hmm. I ordered around 9pm on Monday. UPS tracking is estimating delivery on Monday next week. Bugger. Would be nice to get it on Friday since I have a few guests visiting.

      • Oh, you ordered it before I posted this deal? Anyways, my friend's UPS estimated date was Monday but he received his on Friday week before. So keep a lookout as it still might arrive on Friday. =)

        • Yep I was thinking about it since the last deal and pulled the trigger. Saw this come up on oz bargain the following morning. =)
Thanks for the info. Much appreciated

  • Thanks for this jakiman.
Have just ordered one now, seems a good price for one that froths milk as well.
    Cheers!

    • Great service from Amazon, ordered on evening of 22/8 and arrived morning of 27/8.
      And it makes great coffee!

  • This looks like a very nice machine. Just wondering do you need a special converter/adapter for this or just a normal adapter? what is the voltage differences between European ones and Aussie ones? Thanks

    • +1

Voltage is the same. This machine supports 220 - 240 V / 50/60 Hz. (It's stated in the specs portion of that Amazon listing) You just need to buy a plug adapter to convert 2 round plug to Aussie plug. (around $2 at most Asian grocery stores, k-mart etc)

  • More of the same (choice of several alternatives) in:

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/78115

  • Thanks heaps. Now the choice is this or the Saeco RI9752

    • You are welcome. I guess in terms of features and price in Oz the Saeco offers the better value but both are very good quality machines. Have fun deciding and if you need any help, just let me know (until 6pm, then again in the morning).

  • Hell yes, just bought the lattissima plus in silver. Is there anything else i should buy for it from Europe that's cheaper than here?

    • Pm'ed you with ideas

  • Bought this on Tuesday 21st in the afternoon, arrived in the morning Friday 24th. This is better service than local traders.

    • Weird. I ordered the night before you did and I still haven't received it. It cleared customs on 22nd and nothing since then. Seriously expected to receive it on Friday when I saw that it cleared customs on Tuesday night. Oh well… Maybe it's because I'm in Brisbane.

  • Can anyone please confirm that they can use the serial number to register for aussie warranty?

    • It doesn't look promising:

"Received my L+ from that computeruniverse shop after 3 weeks…Machine is DOA…I rang Nespresso club here and they cannot help as they said as the machine was not bought from an authorised retailer in Aus they will not fix it under warranty."

      http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1922486&p…

      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/76107

      • If you paid by credit card, get the money back from the credit card issuer and buy from Amazon.
Write to the shop, telling them and ask for a refund.
        Tell them:

According to para 433 I BGB they are obliged to deliver the item free of any defects. They have not fulfilled that obligation.
In accordance with para 434 BGB the item of purchase is defect and not suitable for its intended purpose.
Finally, para 437 I BGB states that you can ask for another attempt to fulfil the obligations owed by the shop to you (which means giving you a working item), para 437 II BGB states you can annul the contract in which case they have to refund you, and finally para 437 III BGB states you can demand damages or further expenses that need to be spent to obtain an item that works.

Eventually it all results in them having to pay you back your money.

The long distance selling directive also prima facie stipulates that a retailer need to reimburse shipping costs if the item bought has a value of 40 Euros or more. I am not a hundred per cent certain if that applies beyond the EU but I think it does.

It might also be worthwhile informing DeLonghi about this- they should be able to instruct their Australian retailers to honour the warranty.

      • Oh that's unfortunate to hear mate, guess that will hold me off ordering. The re-shipping it back to amazon.it will be a nightmare, hope you sort it out.

        • +1

You are mistaken. He did not order from Amazon but computeruniverse.net.
Amazon service is great and easy. Check the posts and the epriences other users have. Got to forums, search for Amazon and read gooddealmate's eperience with them when an item arrived damaged.
Buying from Amazon is safe - you can ask everybody.

        • +1

Can you please link me to his post?

I have no idea how to search on the forum part of the site, general search of his name just gives your post here.

        • Sorry, mixed up the names. It was voteoften.

          Here is the link

          http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/63267

There are plenty of posts commenting on Amazon's great service!

      • I got mine from computeruniverse and thankfully it worked fine and today I went into Nespresso to buy some capsules and registered my L+ and they said that it would be covered by their international 2 year warranty… might be worth checking with them again or maybe go in store if you can???

      • Yeah thats me.

I posted an update in the whirlpool thread.

computeruniverse have offered to refund my money and pay for return shipping. Not much more I can expect from them but it is a hassle.

I feel the DOA was due to damage in transit. Box was wet and damaged, couple of the nespresso pods had burst.

Still these things happen, just ironic that I posted the deal and got the dead unit!

        • If you still want a coffee machine, I do recommend you buy from Amazon. Much more hassle-free and a bit more choice.
I am happy you got your money back.

  • Well, I took the plunge and bought one of these last night. Bought the silver one for about $10 more as the white one had slipped to shipping in 2 - 3 weeks and the silver appeared to be available still.

Not sure yet if I'll keep it for myself or give it to my partner as a Birthday present :)

  • I'm attempting to order this from Amazon.it, however, in the checkout process, it tells me that it cannot ship to Australia. How was everyone else(with an Australia address) able to order this?

    • +1

      Try this link - http://www.amazon.it/gp/offer-listing/B005G9GHPM/ref=dp_olp_…

Make sure to select the first one, which is sold by Amazon. It doesn't ship for 2 - 5 weeks now though.

Or for $10 more you can get the silver one which is available and ships immediately - http://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B005G9GHDE

OP may need to update the link as it takes us straight to a third party seller on Amazon now rather than the one sold by Amazon, which may be a little bit confusing.

edit: I'm not associated with Amazon.it or Delonghi, however appear to be unable to remove the rep icon after identically selecting it.

      • Thank you so much! I went for the silver one. I'm only a social coffee drinker myself, but my wife likes her lattes and the mother in law has withdrawal symptoms if she ever goes a morning without her daily caffeine fix.

        Thanks again for your help

  • The two units I ordered have arrived one week from ordering.
All working well and enjoyed my first coffee.
