This post contains affiliate links. OzBargain might earn commissions when you click through and make purchases. Please see this page for more information.

Hello everybody,

there are a lot of deals for you today on Amazon Italy and Amazon UK, right on time for Father's day! Sometimes the savings amounts to several hundreds of dollars (as in the case of the Saeco) and sometines is just $6 or so (as in the case of the boxsets.)
I know that two items listed here have been posted before. I listed them again because one is cheaper now, and the other one is not available from France anymore (so I guess paying $1 more is not too bad - also more colours are available now in this deal).

It would be greatly appreciated if you could use the affiliate links provided to buy the products you are interested in.

It will NOT reduce your bargain and you will NOT pay more - instead Amazon will pay me and my research team a small amount as commission which we use to further develop the software for locating and finding deals so that we can continue finding more and better deals and bargains for you all.
It will also pay for the time associated with a human being writing up and checking the deals (as most of you know Amazon does not make it easy to determine whether an item can be shipped or not.)
Using the affiliate links would also show your appreciation for the work and efforts put into this post.
I am happy to help with any questions regarding the items to tbe best of my abilities and time permitting - just leave a comment.
Thank you.

    +1 for the effort!

My only suggestion would be to use tables next time for improved reading :)

    • OK. Will do. Can I just use Word or Excel and then copy and paste?

    • +1

Maybe be if you ask the mods nicely they'll table it for you? :)

      • Maybe but I'll explore if you can do it somehow or alternatively find another more legible format/way.

        • Hmmm. It's a pain making tables in markdown. Not sure if there is any excel/html -> markdown converter? The supermarket posters would probably have a better grip on doing that (mygroceries, stingysydney).

        • I will ask them tomorrow if I remember. Thanks for the suggestion.

        • i wanna +1 you but i cant :(

          you rock neil :)

  • +1

This might be a silly question, but whats the difference between an affiliate link and a non-affiliate link?

    • He gets commission from affiliate link sales

      • Affiliate links gives the poster commission per sale on the deal. It doesn't affect the user/buyer at all.

Non Affiliate links do not give the poster any commision.

However, if a user who is not logged in and clicks the original posters link he will not get commission however the user 'Scotty' will get the commission instead regardless if he isn't the poster:

        http://www.ozbargain.com.au/user/1

I'm actually quite curious as to how much Scotty makes considering there have been quite a few bargains on a lot of expensive tech recently. My guess is probably in the thousands per month. That's a very nice profit! ;)

        • He must earn enough as three full time staff are employed by his company. The commission we have been getting is not a lot but every little help if we want to develop something good and keep it (and the jobs) in Australia rather than offshore.

        • See here for reference.

Direct links are direct links so no one earns a commission (feel free to test out). Only non-logged in users (guest) will be sent through an affiliate link. We will soon (or later) have a new system in place so every click will have a randomly selected OzBargain users affiliate link. Everybody wins.

      • That's correct. I (and the team) use that commission which is paid by Amazon, NOT you (so you still get the bargain and do not lose anything) to further develop and improve the research software finding those deals and pay for some of the time of the person who checks the deals, the shipping conditions (whether it can be psoted to Oz) and writes up the deals (which can be quite lengthy).
Therefore, it would be greatly appreciated if you could use the affiliate link if you are buying anything posted here. It would help us and does not costs you anything. If anything, looking at the big picture, it will keep some small amount of money out of Amazon's pockets and profits and will stay in Australia and will be spent here.
if you have any questions regarding the items or need help buying, feel free to PM me.

        • So can you create an affiliate link for any Amazon item or only specific ones?

        • In principle to any item but there could be some restrictions - not sure if all third party sellers allow them either. With some sites there are certain minimums and requirements, and some have an approvement procedure which means that there is a possibility of not being approved.
If you are thinking that you can create a link to an itme you want, then buy it, and get commission from Amazon on your own purchase - that does not work as Amazon will easily detect this in various ways. Sorry.

        • Any one really. However if you post it on Ozbargain scotty automatically overrides it with his own affiliate links so that users (the members of Ozbargain) can't post affiliate deals.

However scotty only allows us to post affiliate deals in the description however he uses smart tactics to avoid users from clicking the users affiliate links i.e.:

          • Makes it in light grey
          • Only allows users to place them at the bottom of the description.
            etc
        • Haha no I was just going to ask if you had found a cheaper lattissima+ in either silver or red (current prices are about 260 delivered From the most recent deal posted) for me to purchase. I'd use your affiliate link for the purchase. If not I'll just use the other currently posted Deal.

        • +1

I will have a look. Give me a couple of minutes, please.

        • Nothing in red as sold by third party sellers and hence cannot be shipped. PMed you.

        • pm'd back

        • @souldout

That's not the reason at all.

It was after community and moderator discussion that we came up with the recent changes. As stated above, if you click the link to Amazon, it does not go through an affiliate network for OzBargain members. The reason for the grey and the affiliate limits (2 per week) were to limit a small amount of members who were posting loads of affiliated posts.

The reason for posting at the bottom was because people were posting their affiliate link at the very top of the deal (before the cut). Bottom line is we want people posting good deals and not posting just to earn money.

        • pm'd back again. ;-)

        • I agree with you but if you post a good deal there is nothing wrong with also being rewarded for it. I think that is fair and morally right, too. Personally, I'd rather have the money in the pockets of any Ozbargain member and keep it in OZ rather than in the pockets of the companies, even if they offer good prices as they make enough profit already.

  • Hi Gallifrey Did you see any good tv deals too. There seems to be a drought of tv bargains locally.

    • +1

Sorry, no luck with the TVs. The ones that are really cheap cannot be cheaped to Oz. I will keep checking regularly - don't worry. You will know if there is a deal.

Found this one in OZ though. Might post it as I think this might be quite cheap.

      http://cheapbargains.com.au/catalog/product_info.php/panason…

  • +1

Not recently. The deals I posted still work but as Amazon started charging postage by weight, rather than flat fee they have become more expensive.
The Toshiba 46 TL933G now costs $853 delivered and although more expensive than before is still a reasonably good deal in my opinion as it is 3D, LED, Full HD and is a brand, quality TV. I reckon TV like that cost $1100 or more in Australia (had a quick look on getprice.com.au).
I will have a look now if there is anything else but given that I checked only a couple of days ago I doubt it. The change of postage charging by Amazon has soured the deals a little bit.
Here is the link to it:

    http://amzn.to/O42QNP (affiliate link)
    http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B007FMOPQQ/ref=ox_sc_sfl_tit… (non-affiliate link)

Using the affiliate link would be greatly appreciated but of course you do not have to.
I will check now and then post back in a little while.

  • Judging from the product price only, Saeco Odea Go RI9752/31 seems a little cheaper on Amazon.de although I'm not sure how much shipping they charge..

    • +1

The price might be cheaper but Amazon Germany will not ship this item to Australia - unfortunately. Thanks for pointing it out though and letting me know. Feedback is always appreciated.
I hope you still think the Saeco listed here is a good bargain.

      • Thanks for pointing that out.

  • Dear cherished Gallifrey - trying to kickstart the Italian economy in one hit!

    • Yes, that's a nice side effect to us getting deals. But we probably get them as they need to lower prices in Italy to sell anything at the moment. That's probably the reason why Italy is more lenient with shipping items overseas than the UK for example.

  • Thanks for posts Gallifrey. I bought a 40" Toshiba TV from Amazon Germany a few weeks ago, great TV. Also have bought a Kenwood 020 Mixer, which is so good that 3 or my friends bought one as well from Amazon UK. There are plenty of bargains at Amazon as long as you're prepared to put up with using an adapter for plug. Best wishes.

  • Do you know how the warranties are handled for self imported coffee machines?

    • In another post it has been mentioned that Krups has international warranty.
Other than that, it has als been mentioned and confirmed in another post that Amazon will reimburse you for return shipping should an item be faulty within the warranty period. In Germany warranty by law is 2years, in Italy I am not a hundred per cent sure but certainly it is one year as in Oz but probably two years two as in most European countries.
So, from that point you still get the warranty - due to shipping it takes a bit longer.
What I suggest you could do alternatively is to tell manufacturers that you bought the item while living overseas and just moved back. They should be accommodating then.
Also, in one forum post by gooddealmate (search for Amazon in forums) Amazon's service is and leniency is described.
Perosnally I would not worry too much about it - I have bought many things from overseas and never had problems.

      • Thanks for such a detailed explanation!!

According to the Wiki, Krups "competes" with DeLonghi.
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krups

Maybe they share the same machine hardware for Citiz.
But they do not for Lattissima and others it seems.
By all means, can call them but I expect then to say no.

What makes you think Krups=Delonghi? They are not the same company and you would be making a fool out of yourself calling Krups about Delonghi branded coffee machine. It's like calling Panasonic about warranty on your Sony tv. All nespresso capsule-based machines are identical because they are proprietary design of Nespresso and manufacturers like Delonghi and Krups just put their branding on it. Doesn't mean you can call a completely different manufacturer

You could call Nespresso Club to confirm. They told me Nespresso machines are covered by a 2 year International machine. By this, my guess is it should be the same for Delonghi.

  • Important Message

Can not send Krups XN3005K - Nespresso Pixie Titan the selected address.

Sorry. Please accept my apologies, they must have changed in the day when I checked it and when I could post the deal.
I hoope you found an alternative. I will amend the post.

  • I am off home now. I am happy to answer any questions or help anybody tomorrow morning again.

  • Will these work with a simple power converter?

    • You just need a plug adaptor, not a power converter.

    • +1

This sort of thing I've used a few of them on products from the UK.

The alternative (depending on the wiring set-up) is to replace the plug end with an Australian one.

      • What you linked to is exactly what is needed. And yes, for those more electrically minded they can cut off the EU plug and just attach an Aussie plug. I cannot and would not do that as it would mean electrocuting myself and I do not think my family would appreciate that. ;-)

        • actually that is far and away the safest option — if the power cord to an imported appliance has a removable cord (like that found on kettles, cookers, computers) you can replace it with any standard three-pin (earthed) cable, they are are usually ~$5 from any computer or hardware store, and you can get them in a rainbow of colours to match the appliance.
if on the other hand it has a fixed power cable, you should just unplug the appliance, grab a pair of large scissors and remove the plug close to the end of the cable and use a replacement plug, which are around $7 from hardware stores (all the skills and hardware you need are a screwdriver and the ability to operate one); this is safer than using a non-certified plug in an adaptor that are prone to falling out and exposing the live pins to your pets / children / yourself.
of course if you travel overseas a lot and this appliance goes with you, that's another story.

        • Great thanks for the advice. I agree with you on the adaptor. However, all plugs in Europe undergo a much stricter testing and quality regime than in Australia so I do not think that this would be a problem.

        • you may be right. I haven't had much experience with Euro/GB plugs, but USA/Japan plugs have a tremendous habit of dropping out of their socket with only a little downward / sideways pressure, and it is not the quality of the plug or adpator, so much as the designed tolerances of their plug standards. the overruling principle of not using piggy backed cables or adaptors if it can be avoided is in every electrical safety manual (outside China), so its bound to be the wiser option.

  • I wonder what is the warranty for DeLonghi Magnifica ?
    world wide ?

    • Not sure. But you get warranty in Italy and Amazon does refund the return shipping costs in case something is faulty. But you can always call DeLonghi or try to find it on their website.
I would not worry too much about it - I never had problems with any items from overseas.

  • Hi Dr. Nick!

  • Hi Gallifrey,

    Thinking of buying this one:

    http://www.amazon.it/Dyson-Allergy-dB-DC29-Aspirapolvere/dp/…

Do you have an affiliate link for that? Also, thoughts? I was originally going to go for a DC24 from one of your earlier posts, but it seems that it's only 650 watts, and I've seen a few reviews that the suction power isn't that great. Hmm I just realized - I hope my link above is one of the models that can be delivered to Australia!

    • Yes, wait a minute. I will check and post the link.

    • Can be shipped. It comes to $348 delivered.
      http://amzn.to/Rf8hhU

Alternatively, check the Allergy Parquet DC29 as it comes with an extra parquet head for $332 delivered (last time I checked) - probably an even better deal.

      http://amzn.to/NkIOxx

Thanks for using my aff links.

      • Bought it, thanks I got the one you recommended - apart from the Parquet head I added the Mattress head attachment, and it comes out to $343 AUD (284.96 EUR on xe.com), I'll have to wait for it to appear on my 28 degrees statement to see how much exactly it comes out to. Clicked on your link, and ordered that way, hope it works out. Cheers bud.

        • No problem. I am sure you have it by next weekend at the latest. And thanks for using my link. I am experimenting with blogs currently to build a website dedicated to Amazon products available to people in Australia. Won't be fancy but will hopefully do the trick.
Have a great weekend and thanks again.

        • I say stick with OzB… you do good work, and people will throw you a bone when you need it, but the bigger market here appreciates what you do, so stick with Scotty and help promote OzB - you'll be fine. :)

  • Gallifrey, would you say that the optimal time to buy on Amazon UK/IT/ES/DE/FR would be mid-week? Is there a trend for price drops at certain points in time?

    • That is nearly impossible to say as I am not privy as how their dynamic pricing (which I assume is what they use) works. I reckon buying early in a deal is good as my guess is that the more people buy an item or even view an item, the more likely it is that Amazon increases price a bit as the software will think that the demand is so great that such action is justified.
In relation to the vacuum cleaner, most remained at the price except for the DC29 Allergy Parquet which I understand was probably the most popular choice. If you want that one, maybe wait a week or so, and then check again. Having said that, the price only rose by $18 which is not a huge lot, given that is the only one where the shipping is 35 Euro insetad of 70 or 90 Euro so it is still a good deal.
The only way to buy at the optimum price or near that price is to check frequently and quickly decide if the price is low. Akways keep in mind that prices can go down but they also may go up in the future - people tend to forget those things (as with house prices)
      Hope that helps.

  • Any laptops/ultrabooks that ship here?

    • Not that I am aware of at the moment. Also I doubt that that would be worth it. If you are not in a hurry, I'd wait another 1.5 month or so and then see if you can buy some in the US on their Black Friday sales.

  • Gallifrey, the web pages are in Italian. Is there an English translation somewhere?

    • I use google chrome if I'm surfing foreign language websites, it always offers to translate the page once loaded.

    • As mikeoh said, please use Google Chrome. As it's Amazon Italy, they only offer Italian language. But it works well with Google Chrome and opening a a second window in Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk as the layout is almost identical.

  • Just checking back in - have some of you who ordered received their order yet? I am just curious for information as it would help for future queries by people on how long items take to ship on average.

  • That is ridiculous - package just arrived today, 28th of August, and I ordered on the 24th. Price came out to 343.36 using 28 degrees, for the DC29 allergy parquet with an additional mattress tool - and 5 year guarantee, it's made in Malaysia, and it's got all the languages on it, I don't see why the warranty wouldn't work here. Thanks again Gall.

    • It should. I will e-mail Dyson Germany to verify this (this is where they are made) once I have some more time.

      • Hi mate, Did they get back to you with this?

  • Hi Gall!
    Awesome post, thanks!
Don't happen to have any amazing deals on Jura, do you?
    lol!

  • Thanks for the comment.

  • Any recommendations on the coffee machines? I'm trying to decide between the Saeco and the two De'Longhis. I'm willing to pay extra if it's worth the money! Can any of the three machines froth milk while the machine is extracting the coffee?

    • +1

      Hi there,

the Saeco in vanilla colour now seems sold out for the time being. It is available in black but is more expensive at $390 delivered (http://amzn.to/NBcXYf).

As between the two DeLonghis the Magnifica S ECAM21.110.SB has a bigger storage container for coffee beans and has 100W more input. It also features an automatic turn-off and a counter (how many cups of coffee were made, I guess useful for office use while for private use it is a bit of amusement to see how many cups one drinks in a month). Other than those differences I cannot see differences in terms of features and both are good machines and come with good reviews. Since the price difference is not that great I think it also comes down to which colour and design you want as they look a bit different. In my opinion the white one looks a bit more modern while the black is probably a bit more classy but that is just my personal preference.

The DeLonghi Magnifica S ECAM21.110.SB is also available in black and in silver.

http://amzn.to/NBbHVg (black) Price: $378 delivered (as for some reason now they charge a flat rate for shipping for this machine.

http://amzn.to/RkLLOB (silver) Price: $381 delivered (again, flat rate shipping)

So in this case I would probaly order the black versio of the S ECAM21.110.SB as it has more features and hence is excellent value for money.

As for you last question from what I read the Saeco has nozzle which can be put into the milk to froth it. I assume this can be done at the same time as making coffee but I am not a hundred per cent certain. However, I would not make the only criterium. The two DeLonghis will froth the milk and come up with the finished product so for me that would do and just be fine.

If I was buying a new machine now, I would buy the DeLonghi S Ecam21 in black.

I hope that helps. If you have more questions, feel free to PM - I will try to help as best as I can. Using the affiliate link for whatever machine you decide to buy would be greatly appreciated.

      • Thanks for that! Shame that the Saeco is out of stock - there were 5 left last night and now they're all gone.

        • Well, the Black one is still available if you really want the Saeco. Still a great deal as compared to Australian prices.
