    That's really cheap..

  • I bought it for $350 after the cash back and AMEX offer…

  • wow this is the price i paid for getting a Citiz
    great first post

  • +4

    Computer shop sell coffee machine?

  • +2

My parents bought one of these and they can work it even though they are scared of anything that is electronic, has buttons and lights and makes whirring noises.

It also makes suprisingly good coffee.

  • Any idea what the difference is between the 520R, 520S and 520W? I'm guessing this is the older model, but have there actually been any noticeable changes between versions?

    • +27

      red silver white

      • +1

        lol

      • +2

Oh lol, well that makes sense. Thanks!

  • For those interested in a higher model, the EN720M is also a bargain. AU$387 shipped to Australia and that's including 8.18 euro's in Paypal fees. Credit card surchage is only 5.71 Euros so can save a few dollars there if you wish.

Cheapest on Shopbot is $755 + $27.95 shipping to Perth. This makes it ~50% of the Australian cheapest price.

Computer Universe's paypal charge is a bit of a PITA, ordering by Credit card imposes less of a surcharge.

    • I guess you are protected if using paypal?

      I saw people mentioning this.

      • -7

Not true. Paypal only protects you on eBay auctions

      • Unsure.

Has anyone actually tried to resolve anything via PayPal?

I think I'm just as 'protected' using my credit card.

        • Tried PayPal protection for undelivered goods a while ago. Absolutely no help, they twist and turn with excuses, refer you to fine print in their condition etc. Ended up using the Credit card protection offered by the Bank

Subtle difference. Second class 'protection' designed to drive traffic through eBay (more fees for them)

    • +1

Soon Harvey Norman will import coffee machine from Europe .. or $500 cash back on coffee machine.

      lol

    • +2

I think the issue with this model is the milk frother is not as hot as the L+ and results in a luke warm cup of coffee

      • +2

Yep, the main reason why I didn't buy the Lattissima was the reviews saying the coffee wasn't hot enough.
People had written to Nespresso about the temperature issue and they said the Lattissima was made with "European" coffee drinkers in mind because they like a warm cup that they can drink quickly.

The Lattissima+ heats the water to 60 degrees though, nice and hot!

        • But isn't this the Lattisima PLUS? it says "Lattisima+" in the title…

I'm about to pull the trigger on it and I was previously aware of the lack of heat in the older Lattisima but it seems this is the new model yeah?

        • Yes, sorry to cause confusion.
Was just continuing on the discussion about the EN720M which isn't the plus.

The one linked according to this bargain is the plus.

    • Where did you find the EN720M for AU$387?
I'm trying to get it and it says 349Pounds = ~AUD$524

      http://www.computeruniverse.net/products/e90452454/delonghi-…

      • Its Euro not Pounds champ

        • ahh my bad.
          348 Euro = ~AUD$410.

          …still can't find this $387 machine :-(

        • Did you deduct VAT

        • Just ordered…Total after Paypal conversion $406.01 AUD for EN720M.
          Thanks!

      • Found it by putting it in my cart and selecting Australia as the destination. It then deducts VAT.

  • I bought the 520s back in May paid $325 after cash back promo and good guys price match.

  • What other coffee capsules can fit in these besides nespresso?

    • -3

Dont understand. You can just buy other machine if you want any capsules other than Nespresso

      • theres better coffee than Nespresso out there and its good to have some variety at times.

These capsules can be used in Nespresso machines.
Officeworks stocks them, I just got a few packs the other day to try.

      http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1922486&p…
The feedback seems to be pretty good, my thoughts are that they're definitely on par with Nespresso, though I'm not a coffee expert.
Some people are saying it's a better flavour than Nespresso.

      • If you want to buy compatible pods, you might as well buy a Nespresso pod compatible machine. It'll be cheaper and have local warranty. Then you can still use Nespresso and other compatible pods.

  • wow $500 at Hardly Normal.

  • How difficult are these to keep clean? I own a couple of the 'Citiz & Milk' Combos posted here last Christmas and they're brilliant as they're so easy to clean. I assume these Latissima machines heat, froth & pump milk through pipes etc. so can anyone comment on how difficult/easy they are to cleanout each time?

    • +1

There's a cleaning button which helps clean out the machine and sends some hot water through it.

The milk container is simple to just pull out of the slot and dismantle (take the lid off, pull the straw thing out).

      Definitely not hard at all.

      • +1

        Nice, thanks for that unco!

  • +3

Good deal, just a note, this isnt DHL express, but DHL standard. It basically standard German Post delivered via Australia Post in Australia and usually takes around 30 days to arrive!! I've experience it first hand. Also not really trackable.

    • Thanks for this now I know how long I have to wait!!

  • Do you have to purchase an outlet adapter for this? I have never purchased electronics from Europe so I am not sure.

    • +1

Yep but it shouldn't cost more than a few bucks form eBay or from the travel section of your local '$2 Shop'. Alternatively you could get a sparky to chop the plug off and thrown an Aussie one on as this will keep it neat & tidy.

  • Never tried this "nespresso" thing, but how do the coffee compare to standard coffee?

    • +1

Amazingly good and far more consistent than most local coffee shops I've found… but the secret is all in the milk you use so you do need to experiment with different types & especially quantities to find the exact taste you prefer.

      • Agreed, you can customise the amount of milk and water and save that as your presets. Took a few goes to get it to my liking but once that's done it's one touch from then on in!

      • +2

If you have Nespresso shop near you, you can try it for free. They are better than I expected.

    • If you can manage to ignore your conscience in favour of self indulgence then buying coffee shots in small packages will (bizarre as it seems to others) make perfect sense to you. Plus you get to wank on like most folks seem to when it comes to coffee. Perhaps it really is Manna!

  • Will DeLonghi Australia cover warranty?
I remember the Krups units had international warranty

    • Delonghi won't cover warranty. your'e on your own if you have any issues, been there done that! :)

      • -3

what do aust use to verify warranty? can i say, if it breaks, just buy another one in Aust, then ask them to fix the broken one, and suppose I can sell the one i just bought?

        • +2

It will have the wrong plug on and probably easy to identify as not Australian by serial number etc.

  • I have ordered, how did you pay paypal? It only came up with the bank deposit details??

  • +4

you can also buy from www.amazon.it @AUD 250 for silver and @AUD 260 for white

I dont think red is the fancy colour, and Amazon is better vender.

    • +1

Wont ship to a few addresses ive tried

        • Just tried. Didn't work
" We're sorry. This article can not be shipped to their destination. You may change the delivery address or delete the item from your order by changing the amount to bring it to 0 or by clicking the Refresh button at the bottom. More "

Used the exact link. Even tried the other colours.
How much was the total for you?

        • $274.50. Sorry mate:(

I am kinda tired of getting ripped off because of this not shipping stuff here:(

  • I've tried all the options for making coffee at home, and nothing beats my simple Bialetti stove top mocha paired with a mid range grinder.

Cheap, simple to clean and doesn't create waste with all the pods.

    • I agree, the two best tasting coffee makers are stove-top moka & the Arabic/Greek/Turkish brika…unfortunately, they are also the most time & labour intensive (particularly the latter).

Espresso (in all its forms) was designed for a decent cuppa, real quick! ;)

      • Ahaha. Takes 2 mins to make Turkish coffee. I also have an electric ibrik that takes a couple of seconds. You can buy them from various italian, arabic, turkish shops though they put a hefty markup opposed to importing it yourself.

        • I wish! I can't even make it myself, I stuff it on the 2nd or 3rd bubble-up each time…I must be lacking patience. I saw one of those electric ones recently too, I was thinking of buying it but realised that I've got too many kitchen gadgets already!

Also, my Saeco auto heats up from cold in ~20 sec, then 10 sec later I have a shot poured…vs 2mins = WIN! ;)

  • +1

I ordered it with Red, hope that won't take too long to arrive,

    I paid with AMEX,

The shop site offer free insurance for delivery and I've registered,

now OZ bargainers, let's find the cheap capsules

    • Good luck mate, one of the most tightly controlled consumer goods supply chains going around. Ebay pods are more expensive than the shops…that should tell you something!

  • +1

When is this capsule fad going to end? That is why it's so cheap.

    • +1

It won't end, eventually you will be able to buy them from the post office just like the $50 printers.
All the money is made on the capsules, obviously.

      • I am almost amazed we dont have a unique Australia only standard for sizing… allowing them to charge even more… hope I have not just given them an idea!!!

        • Now you've done it! :(

  • thinking i might give this to my old man as a gift. How expensive are the pods?

    • They range from 68-84c each directly from Nespresso, not sure if you can find it cheaper elsewhere

      • Hmm not too bad.

        anyone tried this? http://www.podcafe.com.au/refillable-capsules/
its an aus company too, Found them on Wikipedia under the nespresso page.

        • Hey I am tried a few reuse /refill pods, it is really hard to actually pack them correctly and get a decent coffee:(

Too tight and machine works really hard, too loose and dont get great flavour.

If any one has any hints thought I would be happy to listen!

  • That's really cheap. Got mine last time using GG gift card n cash back still ended up 325. Loving the coffee.

  • They've increased the price of the red :(

  • +1

If you want a hotter coffee pour boiling water in your coffee cup and leave it for 10 seconds. Then empty and make your coffee

  • I've ordered a white one with pay pal. Red and white were the cheapest, blue and silver more. Red was saying shipped in 3-4 weeks, white in 1-2 weeks.
Thanks! Been looking for one of these.

  • I like to drink Long Macchiatos, but looking at the DeLonghi website, it doesn't make them specifically. How easy would it be to set the parameters to make one? Would it be a case of setting it at the espresso function, adding more hot water, and then setting it to stain 2 teaspoons of milk?

  • Just a tip for those buying. Delonghi Australia will NOT cover warranty for non-Australian machines. Therefore, if you are buying this from Europe, it will not be under warranty. No point going to Nespresso Australia or Delonghi Australia. It is not covered and will not be covered.

  • Prices have gone up across all models since last night.

    • They want to ripoff Australian.

  • I've ordered with them on 30 July, they advise that it will take about 8 weeks after they dispatch from their warehouse, but could vary.
I've received an email today, they cancel my transaction with AMEX, they advise me that they can't use credit card as I haven't purchased before.

They asked me if I can repay with paypal or bank transfer,

I told them I will pay with paypal, then they cancel my order.

I need to order it again and still thinking whether this could be better as I probably better to buy in Christmas time with 2-30% discount price.

The discount price would be still about 100 dollars more, but will have warranty and no need to wait for 4-8 weeks.

    What do you think?

  • My email trail with them as below, are they trustable company??

Didn't they just get my credit card detail?

    Anyone experience of cancellation yet?

    Thank you for your mail.
We canceld the order with credit card for you so that you can place a new order with payment method paypal.

    • Yeah I had the same thing
Initially paid with AMEX and got the same email - did it through PayPal afterwards and they honoured the original price
Got an email today and they are shipping it in 2-3 weeks when the new stock comes in
I have researched them and they appear creditable. Communication has been very good so far with them.
      Hope this helps.

      • Lucky you, I got an email confirming that I have to order fresh, and red one has unknown delivery time, suggest me order other product, which the product they suggest me purhase is far more expensive,

I think it's rather better as I was unsure with no standard warranty and long waiting on delivery,

I will wait for big discount in late this year mm

        • Got another update last night… it has been shipped
It's obviously up to the individual buyer but I'm just never sure how much of a discount you'll get come Christmas
Don't think I can get one from the store for $240… and the delivery only takes a few weeks, so in comparison to 4 months till Christmas the delivery wait time doesn't seem so bad after all

        • I heard that this machine EN520 is great, and I saw the ad. So I decided to buy it. But I really don't need that urgently as most of Ozbargainer does. I also thought that half price is really great.

I don't expect to get it below $300 locally, but I do get somewhere near it will be great.

I just don't feel right after communicating with this online business, but again they advise me it will be 8 weeks after shipping, so you will get sometime on October. hope you registered the insurance in case damaged item is received.

        • Tell me once you receive it as I might still consider to buy from them if price range is similar in 2 months time

        • Got mine today… bit on the slow side
There is another one that is on this website which delivers a lot faster apparently - 3 days
          http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/77900

  • My order has been shipped! "Hereby we want to inform you, that the orders mentioned below have been shipped now. "

    • Mine also shipped yesterday.

Last status, it's on it's way here, which from my experience can take a while on DHL standard (their express service is awesome though!).

      Date 01.08.2012 07:18
Brief Status Transportation to destination country
Status The shipment will be transported to the destination country and, from there, handed over to the delivery organization. (Homepage / online shipment tracking: http://auspost.com.au/track/)

  • I received this update the morning:
     EN520W
    Your online order dated 31.07.2012
expected to come in stock on approx. 20.08.2012
(Current non-binding information of our supplier)

  • +1

    Just got this email update…

    Your online order dated 30.07.2012
expected to come in stock on approx. 28.09.2012

Tempted to just cancel my order now…

  • Has anyone received their machine yet? Is there anyway of tracking it once it gets to Australia?

    • I havent recevied mine yet and mine was shipped on 1st of this month. still waiting

      • The DHL tracking for mine told me it arrived in Australia two days ago… not sure how to track it once it gets here though and I'd be interested to know if anyone has found a way to do so… I don't expect it'll be much longer before it arrives on our doorstep
Admittedly, it has taken a long time to arrive but it seems that is DHL for you…

        • I just talked to DHL and they confirmed that once it's in Aus and it's given to Aus Post there's no way to track it - but if it hasn't arrived in a few months (!) contact DHL Germany for follow up…
Hope it arrives soon, mine shows as having arrived in Aus on Monday 20/8.

        • Should have arrived then… I got mine yesterday… it is awesome!!
