Great offer for a Playbook…. I own a 16Gb model and simply love it !

    • Then you woke up… :)

Interested to know though…what are the main applications you use?

      • I have all the apps that I would need from a daily-use tablet. I mostly use facebook, browser, video chat…. I sometimes use its HDMI to connect to my TV and play videos. very handy when you are travelling.

I must admit it currenly has minimal app support from developers, but trend seems to be changing with more and more apps being released….all said, its a great piece of hardware that could have more app support.

I'll add my voice to those that's happy with the Playbook. As outlined by batarobin, for all the basic functions it performs smoothly. Web browsing is good, I'm able to stream video from my NAS when at home, video chat works well too.

If you have a Blackberry phone as well the ability to use the Blackbery Bridge functionality is a nice bonus too. It works well for BBM and the web browsing speed whilst not being the speediest is acceptable (especially given there's no extra cost with it utilising the BIS link). I know it's a rapidly shrinking group of people that might benefit, but it's handy for me, especially when popping over to Indonesia.

  • I really am rather tempted with that Blackberry Pearl 9100. Need a replacement work phone, and it seems to be the right price.
However, all the reviews I find are from 2010. Anybody have any recommendations?

    • Do you need a replacement Blackberry? Or any phone?

      • Hey Stix,

I'm using a Nokia E52 at the moment. The case of it is pretty much dead and gone.
I'm just looking for anything that'll hold a charge. Had good results with Nokias and Blackberries in the past, so I'd be happier to stick with them. However, I'm open to any suggestion!

        • I've had Blackberrys before for work and they have great battery life. I'm now onto an iPhone and would never go back to a Blackberry obviously. If you're after a very basic smartphone, the Pearl should be fine. I'm no phone expert so take this advice with a grain of salt…from a shotgun! :) http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/77952

  • Please put 7" Playbook in title or header description. Thanks… Maybe I'm the only one..

  • Can I install Android app on this tablet?

Playbook is useless comparing to ipad and android

That explain the price from RRP $579 to now.

With this price, why not buy a nexus 7?
    Playbook is dead.

$220 for both and i am sold (O).

IMO the Acer A500 10.1" for $200 was a better deal.

  • It worked out to be 152 though… And I was beaten ^^.

  • Hey rep, why the code doesn't work on the Pearl? I tried twice???
