      • Yeah I guess that's what I was asking - after there a few standard sizes. I guess that's a no haha.

    • These look far smaller than the average drawer.

From seeing them in person most standard tool boxes wouldn't hold them flat on the foam tray, you'd need a pretty decent size one to do that imo.

looks like noosa got cleaned they had 8 of the big sets an hour ago now all out of stock. just hoping they got my click and collect order in time

  • +1

Went to my local Bunnings which had 5 sets each showing online after dropping my kid to school. The staff told me both sets sold out within one hour. $70 saved oh yeah.

    • :(

      for?

    • +5

It's not often people post a comment admitting to being a greedy asshat.

      Well done Broden

  • Got both, thanks!

  • nope no deal for me, my bunnings in Mt Gravatt called me up to issue a refund!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Some tight arse management out there lol bad luck matey

  • +2

Don't be surprised if you get a call regarding non-fulfilment of your order. Apparently stores had sold out of the stock hours ago, and they're only just discovering how over-sold they are now that they are pulling orders together for collection.

    • +1

How does Bunnings click and collect and stock counter work anyway..

Is stock on shelf available for walk ins to buy or is it reserved immediately for C&C? Haven't heard anything about my order yet. Hope it gets fulfilled as I really need these..

      • +3

Will only be reserved when a staff member picks it off the shelf. Free game for walk ins until then.

    • My order was confirmed 8:15 and the ready to collect email received 8:33. luck of the draw

  • Got one of each instore. Thanks

  • C&C Cancelled 62 pc no stock available Mt Gravatt QLD

    • Same here.

Are there uses for these not on cars and if so, what are some examples? E.g. Basketball stand system.

    • +6

Come on man use your brain…. If you know what a nut and bolt is you shouldn't need to ask this question

      • -3

Why don't you use your brain. When people, ask this, it means on top of their usual tools.

  • What a deal.
Ordered both literally 20 min ago from one of the busiest stores in sydney and already got a text ready for collection

  • Yay. I was worried but just got email, order ready for collection.

  • Nice!
Cheap enough to make one's own destructive youtube channel?

  • +1

Just picked mine up from Bellambi. Nice lady at the C&C laughed how a guy called Ben, and I, placed the same order for both sets at the same minute and paid via PayPal. She thought it odd enough, glitch in the system level really. Cool timing, thanks OP

    • +1

Hi Ben, I was behind you in the line and saw you leaving when the lady pointed this out,

      Regards, Ben

      • Hahaha that's awesome! Cheers.

    • Was it 6:52am? Haha

Just got back from Burleigh Waters. Got the last 1/4” &3/8” set. Still two 1/2” sets when I left 20 min ago. They did say they’d had a lot of click and collect orders come through this morning. Not sure if they’d picked them yet though.

    • thanks for update. I have placed click and collect orders on both sets from burleigh and they were confirmed this morning, haven't seen any cancellation orders yet so I assume I'll be able to grab them soon.

      • Just picked up both sets. Employee told me they were sold out completely. Noice

  • None available in WA.

    Great deal though.

    • Malaga had stock.

      • Cool. When I first looked, the only WA store that showed stock was Willetton but when I went into the website, they had none.

        • +1

Heaps in stock in WA now. Check nrby

          • @anthem29: Thanks. Showing stock in Midland, Bayswater and Joondalup but their site won't let me order online.

Oh well. It is what it is.

  • Looks like I missed out… bugger. No options for delivery, so if I wanted to drive from Victoria to NSW I might get one… LOL… really wanted this one.

  • Delivery order refunded 62 pcs

  • Got my order cancellation message.

  • +5

Stopped by my local, staff said: “they’ve all been picked, it was on OzBargain this morning”. Haha

  • Whats the common use cases for each kit? I’ve ordered the bigger one as it seems automotive related

    • +2

62 piece kit I would say is generally more automotive. 10, 13, 17mm sockets most common on Euro and Japanese cars. Torx fittings common on Euro. Deep sockets useful to get at nuts on long threads. 3/8" and 1/4" ratchets easier to get into tighter spaces in the engine bay or inside body panels. 1/2" ratchet tends to be used on larger fasteners until you go up to 3/4" on trucks and buses etc.

Sad that Sidchrome is not really sidchrome anymore.

Original sidchrome was taken over by the same company that makes Stanley tools and similar a number of years back, and the quality (IMHO) is no where as good as the Original sidchrome gear.

If you want quality you have to look at Snap-On and other similar quality gear.

That being said, given the price this is still a excellent bargin

    • +6

They have improved greatly though. After the take over and the shutting of Aus production, they did become almost junk like.
Now days they are effectively the same as the MAC and Facom range which Stanley Black & Decker do not bring into Aus for that very reason.
Eg Sidchrome 440 is MAC 440 and Facom 440.

So they are respectable again, just not pinnacle level they were back in the day.

    • I did actually try and order some as the price was so good. I got the 1/2 set but for the other set they cancelled my order..

  • ALL stock is gone from most metro Sydney stores

    • yep, zero 1/4 inch sets, just paid for the last 1/2 inch set in Lidcome store, let's see if it is cancelled

      • On the outskirts of Sydney McGrath's hill had some.
I had bought the 1/4 and 3/8 not the half as I think I already have a Stanley set. But if not we'll this will do me fine.

      • yep cancelled just now

  • +11

    The power of OzBargain.

We are a happy bunch, ready to preform load testing, stress tests and clean up any stocks.

    • "This is the way"

    • Indeed 😁

  • Thanks OP

  • Thanks OP. Picked up both kits from local bunnings. Excellent buy for this high quality tool sets. Only thing to note that the bits are fixed on a foam matt which is not good to carry around. Need to look for a blow mould case for the kits.

  • +1

got a call saying both kits were out but another store (Marsden Park, NSW) will deliver them to me instead. Schweet!

  • -6

Great deal, just walked in and bought 5 sets each from my regional local store, still had plenty left on the shelf.

    • …less than ordinary. buy one and let others have a crack

  • can these be used with power wrench?

    • +3

yes but as they are not impact rated, they may shatter with high-torque applications. protect yo eyes

      • thanks mate,

I got my one, click and collected. while I was getting mine she said she just cancelled 8 orders as they sold out.

I rang another store as I needed another for my dad….and they had 4 in stock and said they would hold for me. I drove there and they sold it on me, but as a resolution offered a $180 Kincrome set with a case for $39. I can't complain….. bought 2 different kinchrome sets at $39ea.

    • may I know which stores are those? And which Kincrome set they gave you? :)

  • Do these come in a proper hard case?

    • +1

      They do not

      • You scored well. Well done.

        • +2

The original post includes links to show all stores with stock currently in system, it updates live.

          • @snuke: Bunnings stock lists are never correct

    • No, out of stock for whatever store you checked, but still plenty in stock around the country.
News flash buddy, the world is not all about you.

Invalid Neg Vote on your behalf.

  • No stock in all of metropolitan Adelaide, surprise surprise.

  • +2

Just went to Pakenham store there's about 10-20 sets left in store although it said out of stock online

    • Wondering if there is a price error good luck with those who were able to order them.

Are they that price in store?

      • +1

Yes priced correctly. It was on a separate section where they often have sales or promos (just in front of tool shop section)

    • I got rejected on slightly more local store and got Pakenham to hold me one which I've now picked up. Thanks!

  • +1

My local just rang and cancelled my order 😩
