  • For those headed down Byron way over the weekend , plenty of stock in Ballina .

  • Thanks OP, needed an 1/2"

  • Phone call saying my Click and Collect has been cancelled due to No Stock on Floor and Sorry the Computer let you proceed with the purchase.

  • No stock in Canberra and I tried to get one of the 62 piece sets that was in stock and the store said it was out of stock and cancelled the order 😔

  • Got one each confirmed within 10 mins from Victor Harbor SA.

Seems I was extremely lucky considering how late I was.

  • Morayfield show 10 of the 3/8 1/4 but staff say wont be available till next week due stock take , and now not showing on click and collect either. Disappointing

  • Both links no longer working and stock level check says product not found. I think they have noticed the pricing error lol

  • Order cancelled, removed from website :(

  • +1

very strange went and picked my 2 sets up from the local and the worker was saying how these only came into the store last night and they hadnt even unpacked them yet haha

  • +4

Picked up my click and collect 62 piece and they said all gone now (Albury).
Click and collect said it went nuts this morning :P
Still had a bunch of 21 piece on the shelf so grabbed one of those.
Then went to supercheap and got a 60% tool cabinet for $71.99 from https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/780112
    Great deals.

    • are these going to fit in the drawers tho? looks like it would be tight? I want to do the same thing

    • Was hoping to get the tool cabinet from Supercheap as well but no stock anywhere near me. Not too keen to get it delivered for $17.

      • Yes no stock here either. Will get the plastic toolbox at Bunnings for now.

      • You would spend like $10 on fuel. Can't always max win

        • +1

If I don't try to max it, what ozbargainer am I! 😀

Anyway, it popped up in-stock at a store nearby today, promptly went and picked it up.

    • @robinsoa

      • Not sure, haven't built the cabinet. It's a project for Monday.

  • +3

I picked up my 2 click and collect sets as well as one of these:
    https://www.bunnings.com.au/trojan-466-x-224-x-160mm-tool-bo…
The foam insert slips into the base of the toolbox like a finger in a bum. I'll be going back tomorrow for another.

    • Was the fit for the 21 or 62 set? Looks handy

      • +1

Both fit nicely, although when the 62 piece set is in, the foam compresses more making it a bit harder to return a socket or ratchet to its location once you've finished with it.

  • Spewing I missed this one (tried around 12:30). I need a set for my new impact wrench!

    • +2

      They're not impact-rated, though

      • +1

Ok - thanks, I feel less bad now

  • Anyone found a case that suits the big set?

    • +2

Part No. SCMT30000 in the case that fits these………Sidchrome have plenty of stock.

      • +1

Can you link us up please? My google fu not working

        • +1

The case can be ordered from Sidchrome thru the Bunnings Special Orders Desk, using the above part number for about $17ea excl GST.

          • +1

@Wozi: Thanks, I just rang and spoke to someone who sai dit was a deleted item but might be available through special orders desk. So they will call me back today when they know something further. Cost is about $19.something gst incl.

            • +1

@Abbi: I have been contacted by special orders and stock is available, I will be ordered two cases for my two socket sets.

              • @kiwimex: Did you happen to have the bunnings IN number

                • +2

@S3ISOR: There's no bunnings IN number, it's a deleted item that's no longer stocked by bunnings.

                • @S3ISOR: no sry I haven't ordered as yet, waiting on my socket set to arrive from Yapoon before ordering.

          • +1

@Wozi: It's proving not as easy to get as some would suggest. It's a deleted item so requires special follow up to their supplier to find out if it can be sent through.

            • @Abbi: Yeh that’s interesting to know. My case is on order and they said I should get a text to collect in about 2 weeks. We shall see what happens I guess.

      • +1

also keen if you have a link

found it at $40 which isnt much use
        https://theitmart.com.au/products/sidchrome-blow-mould-tool-…

        • Yeah found that one during my google session, oos though

      • +2

@kiwimex: Actually after investigation this is not correct, Sidchrome does NOT have plenty of stock. I have talked directly with them. I quote Sidchrome here:

        HAZEL SAN JOSE-CRUZ
Hi XXXXX, it appears that this product SCMT30000 is only available now from online retailers like eBay. Thank you, SIDCHROME

        • +2

RE: Order No. 315678602Hi Stephen. We have had a response from our supplier regarding the SCMT30000 blow mould case. The pricing is $17.74. Please give us a call should you wish to proceed with this order. Rgds Maria Bunnings

          • @kiwimex: Yeah I called another Bunnings after the first one never got back to me and they've investigated and can get them in for me from Sidchrome. Wtf!?? Sidchrome support = no clue whatsoever.

        • +1

I called Sidchrome and Stanley/ Black and Decker and I was advised they have plenty of stock, then they directed me to order through Bunnings. I guess it might depend on who you speak to. Bunnings have confirmed stock and pricing to order from Sidchrome

  • Thanks OP! Mine was cancelled though for a happy few hours I thought I'd snagged a set. Does Bunnings take rainchecks for click & collect deals?

  • Sorry, we hit a snag!

Better hope not, since we've moved the onions to the bottom.

  • +1

Dang. Got the call , no stock. Refunding my click and collect. No sockets to nut me

  • Plenty of stock of 21 pieces set at Arundal store

  • I feel so stupid, ordered online for click and collect, drove to the store… checked online no update on order for pickup but still was showing in stock, I left figuring they would set it aside. Lo and behold 4 hours later got the text they no longer have stock.

  • Ordered one of each but got 2 of 21 PCs… Plus the balance amount from 62 PCs.

  • Got one from Casula. Was showing no stock online but called and picked up. They still have on 1/2" metric set.

  • Nice just in time to undo the axle nut and use the socket as bearing press spacer.

  • +3

Went to bunnings this morning….no stock….called another store whilst there. Let me check….yes we have stock….whats your name ill put it aside for you……Great, ill be in shortly to pick up….No worries its behind the counter at the tool shop. I drive 30 mins to the store goto the tool shop, asked for my pick up….umm sorry we used it to fill click and collect orders from online. I was spewing to say the least. Spoke to store manager…they said they would find me one and oh we are so sorry. No news so far.

Those who missed out , I wouldn’t be too disappointed.
This is just a chunky Stanley set with Sidcrome branding and a rubber handle .

Probably Chuck it up on gumtree for some other poor sucker to think they got a bargain .

    • nope not even close! its listed for over $200 elsewhere.

      • -2

Would you like to buy a bridge ?
I can let you have it cheap..

        • Looks like you missed out eh big boy! oh well, keep trotting across your little bridge.

  • +1

Sydney tools have a 58 piece set in a case for $89, not as cheap but "available"

    5 @ Vic-Notting Hill / 3 @ Vic-Rosebud / 2 @ Vic-Carrum Downs / 10 @ Vic-Tarneit

  • Just got mine from Chatswood store, they had a shelf of the click and collect desk full of them ready for pickup.
    Clearly Ozbargained!

    • +1

Exactly the same at Rouse Hill!

    • I take it there were none left to walk in and buy?

      • I just went in for my click and collect. Based on how many I saw on the shelf waiting to get collected, I doubt there is stock.

      • +1

        Sorry none.
I was considering buy one for a mate, but no luck

  • Cancelled order at Marion for the 62-piece set. Ordered for click and collect and stock level at the time showed as 6 available. You win some, you lose some.

    • Yep same here at Marion. Saw this deal and ordered at 7am too. Silly me should have just gone to store

  • Anyone manage to get stock at Chadstone? I called and was told the click and collect order lady was sick today and no orders were picked. I doubt there’d be any stock tomorrow to fulfil those orders.

  • +1

I wonder how many of the buyers will actually use these? And yes, Sidchrome now is pretty much the same a Stanley /super cheap / Repco or any of the others mass producers.

Better than the crappy craftwork options but not much.

    • yeah definitely….bought one of the 62 piece sets as i only have toolpro/sca and this is a cheap upgrade

  • +2

Pimpama Bunnings just unloaded a pallet that had a few of each sets. Still in stock right now. Anyone want one?

    • Hard Pass

      • -1

…yeah…we get it. these are beneath you

        • Not saying it was a bad deal for the 62 piece just as a Stanley kit , but the quality is just not there for Sidcrome branded stuff .
Just look at the ratchet , even shorter than Stanley stuff , and I have a couple of kits , requiring more torque on your arm to use …

          Just FYI

There was one 23 piece left at Bethania yesterday when I picked up mine , and someone cleaned out Pimpama this morning of the 62 piece kits .

  • +6

Since they couldn’t fulfil my order, Price (39.98+29.98) matched this one.
    https://www.bunnings.com.au/gearwrench-111-piece-metric-sae-…

Not a like for like replacement but looks solid. Will put them to test.

    • +1

      looks like you did ok!

  • got one of each at the Mindarie store. There were about 8 of the 1/2" and 10ish of the 62 piece left in the tool area (near the counter)

  • +2

Joondalup store in WA still had about 8 sets of both in a cage out back waiting to be unpacked just before closing time - Special Orders Desk found them. I found the promotional video scrolling thru the item photos, which shows the heavy duty blow-mould case to fit. Special Orders Desk has placed order with description: Tool Case Sidchrome Modular CK SCMT30000 $17.25ea excl GST

    • nice one…sounds about right price wise too

  • +3

less than 24 hours & multiple ebay listings are up…..

…at least take the bunnings sticker off ffs….. also, how greedy & unrealistic can you get?

i like how everyone just bought what they needed and didnt exploit the good will of the OP's deal and ozbargain….awesome "community spirit" guys!! /s

What you on about mate? Community spirit? Online 1,211 users 3,830 guests

Ozbargain is in the top 20-30 most visited Australian websites. In context p0rnhub is 15th. 3/4 of people who visit are not registered. Ozbargain is a juggernaut and highly profitably machine, not a closed-knit community.

      • +4

youve got registered users bragging about buying multiple kits for obvious resale purposes…pretty poor form

        • +3

The Broden fam gets bigger and bigger.

  • +3

great thing is all you resellers are just driving down each others profit by listing all at the same time like the greedy shits you are…lol!

  • +1

I just came from Tarneit VIC about an hour ago, there was about 3 left of the 21pc, ring them up and set aside if they still have them, they did for me.

  • +3

Yeah they couldn't fulfill my order either so I got this instead = https://www.bunnings.com.au/sidchrome-1-4-and-3-8-drive-sock…

I ordered the $39 62 piece set. Still worked out okay i think considering i needed a socket set.

  • +5

I think we should bombard the resellers with offers at $29.98 just to waste a little of their day

  • +2

My local bunnings just called me and told me that my order is cancelled and they will refund me. The order got cancelled because of "they were told to isolate the items from the shelf and put them in their warehouse. They might call me next week if the items can be placed on the shelf again". Not entirely sure what does that mean, but I should have picked them up yesterday instead of planning to do it during the weekend. Bummer!

    • +1

Just called them again to confirm the reason, and one guy told me that he is not sure, but normally that means there are some issues with the product… I asked him if I can buy them at the same price after the products are available again in the future, and he said that that is possible.

      • +1

Man, this is frustrating as well. I received the collect order and went today to collect it, but the staff said they are being recalled for whatever reason!!! they refused to do anything and they just want to refund me! Im not too sure because they realised they screwed up with the price so they just stopped people taking it!

    • +3

At least yours had the decency to call you. I just turned up and got the BS recalled crap.

Wasted mine and others time by not immediately sending out emails to those not picked up or called as you were.

I got a bit feral at the counter about wasting my god dammed time. They offered to have me choose something else to the value of, but as I told them multiple times, I didn’t have time to do anything but pick up and go.

To top it off, the next place I had to get to in a hurry was a no show, so they got a pissy voicemail.

      • Sorry to hear that. A bad start for the long weekend.

      • +1

Just had the same experience… was in a rush, offered some item of same value. Took the refund. Wasted 20 mins. Took 4 people plus a phone call to some manager to work out what was going on.

  • +1

Just wanted to click and collect and brendale qld and got told same story as above.
    Got a refund instead. Fuming!

    • Did you get told that they being isolated and recalled for whatever reason? man this is absolutely bs

      • +1

        Yes exactly that.
I reckon someone put up the wrong price and now they try to save what they can.

        • Surely there can be repercussions if it’s a “fake recall” because of a pricing error. Bunnings is a multi billion dollar company so I’m sure they can just suck it up.

  • Staff have found out how cheap they are and bought up all "recalled" stock.

  • +1

Bloody hell. Serve me right for being a lazy ass. I got the "Sidchrome Sets are under isolation" text message. Got a refund text message with reipt a few mins later. Still haven't had the 62 piece set refunded.

  • +2

Gonna raise some hell tomorrow, got the same safety recall message. It's clearly not that, as it's not listed on their website - https://www.bunnings.com.au/help-support/product-recalls.

I'm ok if they're upfront about pricing errors and perhaps offer some recompense for the inconvenience, but to hide behind a safety recall because they made a mistake is very much past my BS limit and is very much going against consumer law.

    • I just got a voicemail too saying that my order is ready to pickup but they can’t release it until they get further instructions from the manufacturer as it’s been recalled. Sounds like BS to me
