hairpolice, we've whipped out the trestle table, hung up our sign, and we are reaaa-dy for our first-ever (and probably last-ever) LEMONADE SALE!

Get a case of our limited batch Remedy Kombucha Lemonade flave and get another case for FREE!

Between us friends, this sale is definitely not approved by our finance team, but as a wise person once said, who probably worked in marketing, YOLO. And you know, what are they going to do? Ground us for giving away free cases? We'd like to see them try.

Gave it a go, usually pick up one at the shops here and there so fingers cross this delivers.

  • +1

done. and just incase ppl wondering, i think only works for this flavour ie lemonade.
i tried the mixed one.. ah 24 lemonades it is

  • Party might already be over - getting an error adding the code

  • Sadly gone.

  • is this kombu thing really healthy? as healthy as yogurt? or yakult?

    • +2

Probably more so, unless you make your own yoghurt with real culture. The stuff in the supermarket has lost most of it's probiotic compliment by the time it gets et. Not sure how this bottled kombucha compares with home made. Milk Kefir seems to have the highest count of good bacteria.

    • Weaker than yoghurt but dairy-free. Coconut yoghurt tends to have a lot of random ingredients because people try to make it a substitute for yoghurt instead of just fermenting coconut cream/water. Fermented food is acidic, yakult is in plastic bottles so I would not touch that.

    • I drank about 2 L in one day and was sick the next day I blacked out when I was standing up and was basically bedridden for a day. The stuff was way more acidic than the store bought stuff and tbh it could've been a coincidence.

Regardless, moderation is a good thing lol.

I'm always a bit skeptical about the sugar free stuff. I hope they just don't add as much sugar and ferment it out or something. If you wanna check if it's live (and therefore still "good") add a bit of sugar to it and leave it out. Don't put the cap of the bottle back on as it can explode. Anyway wait a few hours and see if it appears to be fizzy. Which might be hard to tell as it's already carbonated…

Sorry back to your question, people believe it's good for your gut (I'd suggest only in moderation). Imo a variety is good. The bacteria in this aren't exactly the same as the yogurt one and other types. So imo variety probably isn't bad, if it's beneficial. But I have no idea in reality.

Other things include sour krout, kirfir or whatever it's called, fermented oats and other things like that.

Often wonder why beer (non-pasturised/preserved) isn't really ever mentioned too.

  • Says "the coupon code isn't valid"

  • +3

Error "THE COUPON CODE "KEEPER20" IS NOT VALID."

42 for 24 bottle still pretty good.

  • far out got charged 42

    • Too late mate! It wasn’t in my hands, for this price it wasn’t supposed to last long…

      • im pretty sure i saw $25 there for clicking paypal probably the thing ends between that processing time

        • Sorry you missed out. Other codes might still work.

          • +1

@Thrifty Dan: nah should be fine i have emailed them to cancel. they dont take phone call.

            • @CyberMurning: I tried to change an order before and sent a message immediately after I placed an order and it didn’t work. I have chosen the wrong product size but still received the one I didn’t want. Hope it works for you.

  • Try different codes like the first sign up code (15%) etc.

  • +3

        • +3

          Doesnt work for me… $71.40

      • +4

Didn't work, it removes the 2-for-1 discount and doesn't stack

        • Yep same didn’t work

    • +1

      Didn’t work for me

Cancelled the 2 for 1 offer and replaced it

    • +1

It showed me $29.40, but charged my card $71.40.. Sent them an email to cancel .. hope they do it..

      • +3

Sorry for that. It worked on my end, but I guess after they have received multiple orders they must have shut it down. I have no control over this.

        • Got saved by a whisker mate! My prepaid card had $60 odd in balance, it was attempting to charge $71.40 even though Cart said $29.4, phew!

          • @hardozbargainer: Lucky you .. I have raised a case with Paypal too.. I didn't take a screen shot of the cart price.. hope it gets cancelled..

            • +1

@manja: Hopefully it gets cancelled for you. It can be a bit of a hit or miss sometimes

              • @hardozbargainer: That’s why I usually use afterpay for the deals and pay nothing upfront especially if it’s hit and miss.

                • +1

@Thrifty Dan: Hmm … Good to know some of these quirky hacks!

                  • @hardozbargainer: No worries. Maybe off topic but: Always leave credit on Amazon. If you change your mind and cancel it’s also instantly back.

                    • +1

@Thrifty Dan: Didn't know this either, but have been paying using gift card, so this quirk has been working for me by default, he he …

Coles has a nice kombucha deal running

    • -1

2x 12 bottles of lemonade for $29.40 delivered? I doubt that!

  • +2

If you want to know if this is really Kombucha and not just flavoured water… try growing a SCOBY from it.
    Steps:
    1. Makes some sweet black tea.
    2. Cool to 20-24c
    3. Poor your bottle of remedy in.
    4. wait 5 days
If you don't have a SCOBY, you ain't been drinking Kombucha.

    • +2

Have you tried it with Remedy?

      • +1

        No.
Mrs used to buy both the cans and bottles, and the bottles didn't have any visible yeast sediment or scoby like filaments… so I just assumed it was either really watered down or not really there.

Kombucha is super easy to make… I do a lemonaid + ginger. First batches came out tasty but not very carbonated, so I added some Champgne yeast and now they're carbonated and tasty.

Once you've got the SCOBY, you just add sweet black tea and keep cycling. 5 days per 3.5L brew.

      Homemade ifinitely better.
Remedy tastes like carbonated shite imo.
Happy to mail anyone a scoby (technically a pellicle)for $10 to cover shipping.

    • Agree. Remedy is basically just carbonated water with a tiny amount of Kombucha culture. Doesn't taste like real Kombucha at all imo

    • I had a friend creeped out by my scoby floating in a jar in my fridge. He thought it was a body part… It was a 4L glass jar, and the scoby was growing out of control (which was the reason it was in the fridge).

      • Body part == Breast implant?

        • I don't think they are brown? Aren't they clear plastic bags? I just thought it says a lot about that guy lol

          • @frugalftw: My SCOBY looks like thinner version of implants I've seen on TV.

            • @raybies: These are what I think the implants look like. My scoby was pretty dark, because I only used black tea maybe?

              • @frugalftw: Mine are a transparent creamy white color like the centre 2 implants in your link… I've only used a premium Gilan tea… tastes great and light in color, but a little pricey, Will try Twinnings English Breakfast tea next.

                • @raybies: Ah that explains it lol Something like this. Didn't realise you could feed it non-black tea. Fascinating. It matures too fast for me, I could not drink it fast enough to keep it going, then everything turns into vinegar…

                  • @frugalftw: Shared the actual photo above… https://i.ibb.co/8Y1VqgM/20230608-101007.jpg
It's a black tea that tastes quite tangy/lemony and is fairly light coloured (probably the best tea I tried), turned cloudy and darker after I added some electrolytes in this batch… just experimenting, been using electrolytes in my IPA homebrew for a white and that comes out AWESOME and extra healthy.

                    Actual tea = https://twgtea.com/teas/loose-leaf/lahijan-supreme-tea (was a gift)

                    • @raybies: Awww I feel like petting the bottle. A happy scoby baby <3
The tea looks interesting, almost look like tree bark. Tastes quite sharp but foreign/exotic.
When I experimented, I only did it in the second ferment to avoid upsetting the scoby. Lemon would be sufficient if you are after electrolytes methinks.
                      Happy fermenting!

  • Has anyone tried the Lemonade flavour?

    Is it any good?

    • +1

I Like it, tastes like old fashioned lemonade and you don’t need to feel guilty. No sugar!

    • I think it tastes good, I always order direct from the site now, as the supermarkets don’t stock a lot of the flavours

  • -1

Once its for $25.20 it's hard to buy it at $29.40 and 1 bottle over an dollar doesn't seem like a deal anyway

    • It is usually $42 for 1 carton! Even with codes before the best deal I got including Cashback for 1 carton was about $30.

      • +1

Yes,RRP doesn't mean anything its just lemonade but if someone likes it maybe a good deal

  • Ok guys it’s at the moment a bit of a hit and miss. I read that people got charged more. Please make screenshots before you pay please.

  • +2

i got $71 what am i doing wrong do you have to sign in?

    • Yes, but not sure if they disabled it again.

    • +1

Nothing wrong, its just that they disabled double dipping!

      • There are more codes out there. Worth to try. However I would have bought 2 for $42 anyway. I just tried to add codes and it worked for me before I posted it here for $25.20 for 2 cartons. After that wasn’t working anymore I did the other code and $29.40 worked. We need to find a new code now unless they have removed double stacking in general.

  • +1

It was showing as $42 then I applied the code and it went to $71.40 lol. Oh well, overpriced flavoured water anyway.

  • +3

    No luck for me with codes ; KEEPER20 , KOMLEM330 , REM96471

    Will keep trying…

  • no luck anymore

    • No worries. I have friends who just ordered 2 for $42. It’s still a good deal. I remember they sold these as a special when they came new out for like $25 each just for some days.

  • Update 12:40pm SA time. Deal is not stackable anymore but it’s still a deal for 2x cartons for the price of one ($42 delivered).

    • better than what I got charged $71.20 .. hope they cancel and refund ..

      • Don't hope, you need to request a refund via email. Open up chat box on bottom right and search for email.

        • ha ha.. all done and even disputed through paypal :-)

  • +1

I got it for $29.40. Paid with PayPal so I could confirm the amount they were charging. This was probs at about 12pm, not sure if still working now.

    • +1

Good luck. Let’s pray to the Kombucha God!

      • +1

        Thanks for finding the deal!

  • +2

My order for $25.20 just shipped!

    • +1

      Mine too!

  • Same!!! Looks like it’s too hard to cancel and they honored it!

  • Hopefully everybody received their Kombucha? I just picked up my 4 cartons for $50.40 at the post.
