I have been looking for a deal for an additional 4TB drive for my new unRAID build the last week, and this seems to be the best deal at the moment. Similar to the WD Red Plus deal a couple of weeks ago.

I find it hard to stomach any HDD deals after this one

    • Yep I missed that deal still not over it makes the 4tb worth $89 now .

    • I'm the same as you, but I don't know if we'll ever get that deal again. I feel like that could of been a "Old Stock" deal. I need to buy 4 HDDs to fill in a new nas so I'm kinda hoping somehow we can another like this.

I believe it was a pricing error, USD numeric value but AUD curency.

    • There might be more of those deals or better considering these drives are around the corner.

      • Interesting, SSDs are expected to overtake HDDs in price (total cost of ownership) before those hit the market, however those estimates are based on the current HDD failure rates.

SSD prices are still very expensive compared to HDD. They are about 4 times more expensive (per TB).
It will be several years before they become parity.

    • Hope we will get another deal like this.

That deal is a legendary. haven't seen anything even closer

    • This should be the benchmark for any new HDD deals.

    • wow ! nice deal indeed

    • Yep, that's cheaper if you need two drives. But I assume any warranty claim has to be mailed back to the US.

      • Yep, if fails you have to post back to US
