    FYI:
    1) If you are bulky or moderately big, on a full flight you will find the 9 abreast 3-3-3 config on these A330-900neos to be an awful pain.
    2) Customer service, numerous reports here and on websites that even if they cancel your ticket its going to be hell to get a refund

    • +1

I thought it was 10 abreast

      • +3

Its 9 on the A330-300/900neo, (3-3-3 instead of the industry standard of 2-4-2)

10 abreast is asking for hell (thats the same as the A380, B77W or B744)

        • -7

so one extra seat vs industry standard? Boo hoo

    • +2

Can confirm, they cancelled my SYD-MANILA-DUBAI flights and still waiting for a refund.
      Terrible service.
"2 billing cycles" for a refund. That's 2 months - at least. I see some people waiting half a year to see their money, should be owed interest.

      • +10

Surely do a charge back if they’re going to play that game

    • +3

      Buy two seats.

    • I'm not even that big, and barely for in the A350 Singapore business class! It's ridiculous! 🤣🤣🤣

  • Not bad if you use it for one way

    • Is Manila safe? My friend got robbed there and advised not to go.

      • +2

It's a lot safer than where I'm going on my next trip.

I lived in Manila for a year. You would have to be walking down a dark area, late at night, alone and be unlucky to find trouble. Or be drunk in Malate, don't do that.

Stick to Makati, the fort bonifacio, Ortigas, and relax.

  • +2

Watch before you book. These guys will get you from A to B but damn do those seating arrangements look uncomfortable.

✔️ - Cheap flights to the Phillipines to enjoy cheap eats and great places to visit

❌ - You fly Cebu in what is even worse seating than Virgin's B737 to Japan

    • +4

ive done cebu pacific before its not that bad. its like trying to compare apples for apples if you ask me.
dont know why so many people whinging about it, i'm sure each airline has their ups and downs and unfortunately can't please everyone, if you want the cheap fare then just handle what you are given if you ask me, dont expect emirates/qantas quality

      • they might be obese

        • -4

But they identify as thin. So its ok.

        • +4

I'm 6'3 and very broad shoulders. It was the worst flight I ever flew in, but the destination was worth it. The Phillipines is an amazing place.

What was worse than the seats though, were the toilets. To put in so many seats, they took out the toilets and placed them in the back of the plane using these "space saver" cabins and if you're like me, or if you are overweight/obese, you are going to really struggle to use them.

          • @Cyphar: I'm 6'0, broad shoulders. My best best is the isle seat, so I can hang out 😞

Dunno about you thinking Philippines is cheap compared to Asia.
Accomodation is substandard for the price and QC for food is hit and miss. Mostly miss.
The poverty in Philippines shocked my dad who grew up in Vietnam.

      • +3

Dunno about you thinking Philippines is cheap compared to Asia.

Phillipines IS a part of Asia. Also, I didn't make any comparison.

Accomodation is substandard for the price and QC for food is hit and miss. Mostly miss.

These kind of sentences should begin with "In my opinion….". Because I have opposite experiences

The poverty in Philippines shocked my dad who grew up in Vietnam.

Can't disagree there. I stay with my friends family when I am there in a small town/village. Certainly a shock culturally initially.

        • +1

Isn’t the poverty same same like with most south East Asian countries? Don’t expect everyone to be living well off they are classified as 3rd world countries….

Am I expected to say go to vietnam and see no poverty..?

          • @prankster: It's a matter of opinion based on your experiences.
I've lived and travelled extensively for both countries for work for years.
Maybe it's how I write, but like anything online come to your own truth.

not seeing anything near the advertised $300 on those dates (Sydney)

    • +1

from OP i noticed the cheaper airfares were if you stayed longer for some reason.. lol doubt my wife will let me live in philippines for a while bahhahaha

but yeah didn't find much too

      • i clicked on their links though

Eg the first $303 one from sydney 14-24 Nov is $467 not $300 like OP says. I think a lot of fares are false

        • even worse - that $467 Im seeing is Scoot. Cebu are nowhere near the $303 per OP.
          False advertising!

          • +2

@ChatCPT: Maybe at time of posting and then it got sold out … lol 🤷‍♂️

          • +3

@ChatCPT: literally in description - all correct at time of posting, but they're going fast, Cebu doesn't have a full plane available at that price on each date, usually a few seats. So if some others have booked, they'll be gone on that date. Try some of the other dates.

great price, horrible airlines. perfect if you are a tiny filipino. cramped if you are an average sized aussie.

dont forget to pay extra for food and luggage.
food cart comes around twice. buy everything on the 1st pass, not much left on the second pass.

    • +2

Bring your own snacks! Can't lose!

    • +2

By average sized aussie you mean an obese person which is statistically 2/3 of our population?

  • What's a good season to visit? There prices are good enough that I'm willing to tranquilize myself with sleeping pills to endure Cebu

    • Go there during summer. Could be a little hot though but at least better than going there during rainy or thypoon season.

  • Cebu pack'em in like sardines.
Their A300-300 has a capacity of 440 pax, they fit in 436.

    • +2

So 4 less than max.. thats luxury i say

  • Booked 3 return flights for around $800. I was wondering what happens if the flight times change? I did not select the sms reminder option. Will I be notified by email?

    • No

    • -1

Usually yes. Airlines don't like stressed passengers turning up at the wrong time.

  • -1

Just in time to catch part of the monsoon season

  • +3

Avoid if you really want a stress free vacation. They cancel or reschedule flights at last minute and don't offer any options except refund and you are left with no option but to rebook on a different airline. Has happened to me in 2019

    • +2

      The force wasnt with u

    • +1

Hope you have insurance next time so you can get another flight covered

  • +4

    George Christensen approves

    • had to look that up. wow that's a lot of travel

  • Worst reviews I've ever seen for an airline.

    • +1

Well the terrible reviews are terrible but there are plenty of ‘very good’ reviews.

I think some flights have no reclining seats, narrow seats and fewer toilets.

It’s best to go in with some idea what to expect.

I have paid about $85/leg extra for exit aisle Australia to Manila. And about $18/leg extra for Manila to Tokyo.

I’m still way ahead (money-wise) with respect to ‘full service’ carriers.

  • Flew Cebu from Manila to Palawan a while back. Dirty plane and a white knuckle ride. I kissed the ground on landing.

    • That's better than kissing the dirty reamed-out bar girls so many foolish old simps fly halfway around the world to try and marry.

  • How strict is Cebu with carry-on weight? Have to add $70 per leg for checked baggage which is ridiculous!

    • I carry cameras and laptop probably closer to 15kg without issues so far. Last trip was Feb this year. I buy 2 x 32kg which looks to be $125 now for a total of $250. Photo and diving equipment weighs a lot. Food wise I just take on a few protein/nut bars as ones on the menu are tiny and expensive.
