Between 12:00am AEST 15 June 2023 and 11:59pm AEST 30 June 2023 (Promotion Period), Members who link their Velocity Frequent Flyer membership to their Flybuys account can choose one of two options for Bonus Points. Members will either receive 5% Bonus Velocity Points if they choose a manual transfer as their first transfer within the Promotion Period or 15% Bonus Velocity Points if they turn on Auto Transfer and complete a transfer as their first transfer within the Promotion Period. The Bonus Points will only apply once to the first transfer that the Member chooses during the Promotion Period.

You can choose to manually transfer a minimum of 1,000 Flybuys points at a time to receive 500 Velocity Points per 1,000 Flybuys points transferred to Velocity. Or, you can turn on Auto Transfer and if you choose to do this, your entire existing Flybuys points balance (to the highest multiple of 1,000 Flybuys points) will be automatically transferred to your linked Velocity account, and every 1,000 Flybuys points you subsequently collect will be automatically transferred into 500 Velocity Points. Only one Velocity membership can be linked to a Flybuys account at any one time. To turn on Auto Transfer, the full name and date of birth on your Flybuys account and linked Velocity membership must match. You can de-link or manage your linked accounts at any time at partners.flybuys.com.au/velocity-frequent-flyer/. Visit flybuys.com.au/transfer to manually transfer your Flybuys points. Alternatively, to turn on Auto Transfer, visit partners.flybuys.com.au/velocity-frequent-flyer/ and sign in to your Flybuys account then turn your Auto Transfer preference to ‘On’. This selection will apply to all members under that specific Flybuys account. You can turn your Auto Transfer preference to ‘Off’ at any time and will still be able to manually transfer your Flybuys points to Velocity. Please allow up to 48 hours for Velocity Points to be credited to your linked Velocity account and for your Flybuys points balance to be updated (excluding Bonus Points). Once Flybuys points have been redeemed for Velocity Points they can’t be returned to your Flybuys account. Standard Flybuys Terms and Conditions apply to the collection of Flybuys points. Manual Transfer 5% Bonus Velocity Points

If you choose to make a manual transfer as the first transfer within the Promotion Period, you will receive 5% Bonus Velocity Points which will be calculated as the percentage of the base number of Velocity Points you receive on your first transfer from Flybuys points to Velocity during the Promotion Period. A maximum of 10,000 Bonus Velocity Points will be awarded during the Promotion Period. A Velocity member can only redeem this Bonus Points offer once during the Promotion Period. Bonus Points offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Bonus Points will be awarded within 4 weeks of 30 June 2023.

Auto Transfer 15% bonus Velocity Points Offer

If you choose to opt into Auto Transfer for the first time and complete your first transfer during the Promotion Period, you will receive 15% bonus Velocity Points which will be calculated as the percentage of the base number of Velocity Points you receive on your first transfer from Flybuys points to Velocity during the Promotion Period. A maximum of 30,000 Bonus Velocity Points will be awarded during the Promotion Period. Bonus Points offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Points will be awarded within 4 weeks of 30 June 2023. This offer is not available to (i) members who have already opted into Auto Transfer or (ii) members who have opted into Velocity Auto Transfer prior to this Promotion Period and have opted out of Auto Transfer prior to or during this Promotion Period.

    Good timing to clear out points accumulated on subsidiary Flybuys accounts created for the Coles Mastercard deals. I wonder if you link a previously linked FB and Velocity pairing whether it will trigger the first time 15% bonus.

    Will be in NSW next week so if I can get some Coles Mastercards I'll report back with my findings.

        I have about 4 spare Flybuys accounts that I used when the most recent Mastercard gift card deal was on as I had to buy a fair few cards for HECS payments. After the promo ended I linked my Velocity account to a Flybuys account, manually converted the accumulated Flybuys points to Velocity points and then unlinked the Velocity. Repeat 4x to clear out all the accrued points and currently these 4 accounts have <1000 Flybuys points in each account.

        If I buy more Mastercards in the current NSW promo each of those accounts will go back over 1000 FB points, so I'm wondering if I link my Velocity account to one of those accounts, turn on Auto-Redemption and then go over 1000 points - will my auto-transfer attract the 15% bonus from this deal.

        Technically it's my first auto-redemption since previously my transfers were done manually but also each account has already previously been linked to a velocity account.

        I'm not expecting it will work for the 15% but it would be a tasty bonus. Worst case I can hopefully pick up the extra 5% bonus.

        • Don't think you can fallback to 5% bonus since one requires auto-redemption the other manual.

    • Yeah I have had mine on auto transfer before, but not for quite a long time. So it definitely isn't 'for the first time'.

    • There is a max of 30000 bonus points given.

        220K Flybuys pts would convert to 110K Velocity pts. Using Auto Transfer, the 15% bonus would add 16.5K Velocity pts.

        You’d need to have over 400K Flybuys pts to be limited by the 30K cap on bonus Velocity pts. E.g, at 600K Flybuys pts, the 30K Velocity pts bonus would amount to an effective 10% bonus.

      Are you planning on travelling? If so Velocity is good and you could fly Business Class to USA or even Europe with that many points for 2 people.

      • If I have 5 people and would like to use points for travel, is it worth it because I have such a big group and need to go during school holidays? I have 200k velocity, 200k Flybuys & 500k Citibank. I read its best to convert to Kris Flyer but it has hard expiry of 3 years.
        I played around with velocity for school periods and it’s cheaper to buy tickets than using points. Just don’t know if I should convert to cash bc of my limitations, but I would prefer to use it for travel if the most value come from there.

          You need to look for rewards seats when booking by points, normal points for cash rate doesn't worths it.

          • @Meovel: Yes, I wanted rewards seats but I’m stuck with school holidays so the points so far look ridiculously higher compared to if paying outright during special promotions. Maybe I have to book more than 10 months in advance? I don’t know when to catch a deal with the rewards.

            Anyone ever travelled during school holidays with points at a decent value?

    • The website didn’t say it was targeted. Also check your email from Velocity and Flybuys.

      Mine worked fine through the flybuys app on Android

      • Nah still doesn't work on my iPhone (which redirects to to the website for login anyway)

    • I’ve had issues with this for a month, flybuys blame velocity, velocity said they have no issues at their end.

      • Eventually got it to work.

        I had to login via the flybuys website, then find the promo, then click on auto transfer (which was on a different looking page) and then it finally worked

        • I got an error on that page also, the flybuys app seems years behind the everyday rewards.

  • I only have 50k Flybuys, I spose it may be worth waiting til have 200-300k before a transfer bonus I assume?

    • I have 200k but would actually prefer to auto transfer if it was smaller amount. There’s less risk when it’s a small amount just in case I can’t fly any time soon and tied up big chunk which I can get as dollar value.

  • For clarity, I have 93815 points, if I turn on auto transfer (never done it before), there still needs to be a 1000 FB point accumulation and auto transfer before the 93000 points get transferred, otherwise they sit there until there is and if that occurs after 30 June I won't get the 15% bonus?

      Mine transferred my existing points across without further accrual, so I hope that counts enough for the 15% bonus.

        Thanks for your response @frogduck Well I turned it on and 93,000 points transferred to 46,500 already also without further accrual but no sign of bonus points, I know it says "Points will be awarded within 4 weeks of 30 June 2023" but the wait will be unbearable.

      Flybuys are having major issues at the moment for a subset of users. When you try log in to your account it says it is sending you an SMS code, which never arrives.

      Flybuys told me they are aware of it and IT are trying to fix it in the next 24-48 hours.

      They said try reset password, try delete app, etc and this should force a resync, but it didn't work for me and now I can't even log in to Flybuys app.

      • I'm having the same issue - wanting to take up this offer also, but can't login to setup!

        • I managed to turn Auto Transfer via the flybuys app. It took about 24hrs for the points to transfer after I did that.

    Just checked with live chat. Today is the supposedly last day of the deadline to be credited the bonus points so check again later today

            @sween64: Thanks mate - so I was in the right area…turns out the live chat button was not appearing for some reason when I used Chrome. Wasn't until I changed to Firefox that it appeared. Exact same response as yours above - but also adding to check again after 5 working days.

                    Again, to give them another 5 business days before checking.

                        I wondered whether it was because I transferred rather large amount of points over to velocity.
